[Penggunaan teknologi informasi inovatif baru pada sektor retail telah banyak diterapkan. Salah satunya adalah kiosk elektronik yang digunakan pada minimarket di Indonesia. Akan tetapi karena layanan dengan menggunakan mesin ini masih tergolong baru, banyak kesulitan yang dialami pengguna serta rancangan user interface yang belum ramah pengguna. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi usability dari user interface mesin kiosk elektronik yang digunakan sehingga dapat diketahui bagaimana rancangan user interface agar pengguna merasa nyaman menggunakan mesin kiosk elektronik tersebut. Pengujian usability dilakukan dengan metode usability testing menggunakan teknik performance measurement, retrospective think aloud (RTA), dan kuesioner System Usability Scale (SUS) serta Questionnaire For User Interaction Satisfaction (QUIS). Setelah mendapatkan letak permasalahan usability langkah selanjutnya adalah mendesain ulang user interface sistem yang memiliki masalah. Sebagai hasilnya adalah rancangan perbaikan user interface sistem kiosk elektronik yang dapat meningkatkan kemudahan penggunaan mesin tersebut., Innovative information technologies have commonly used in retail business. One of them is electronic kiosk that operated in various convenience store in Indonesia. However, this is a newly established kind of retail service and many users find the user interface is too confusing ,thus make this machine difficult to operate. This research is aming to measure the usability of electronic kiosk so the user can use it easily. To measure the usability, we use usability testing method such as performance measurement , retrospective think aloud, System Usability Scale (SUS), and Questionnaire For User Interaction Satisfaction (QUIS). Situs Perpustakaan Universitas Indonesia (UI) adalah sistem informasi perpustakaan digital akademik yang dimiliki oleh Universitas Indonesia atau bisa disebut juga Library Automation and Digital Archive (LONTAR), yang digunakan oleh mahasiswa Universitas Indonesia sebagai salah satu unit pendukung pengajaran dan penelitian. Dikembangkan mulai dari tahun 2003, situs Perpustakaan UI hingga saat ini belum pernah dilakukannya penelitian terkait evaluasi usability. Selain itu, situs Perpustakaan UI memiliki bounce rate yang tinggi apabila dibandingkan dengan perpustakaan digital Perguruan Tinggi Negeri lainnya, sehingga perlunya diadakan evaluasi pada situs Perpustkaan UI. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui apa yang dibutuhkan oleh pengguna dan kesulitan apa saja yang dimiliki oleh pengguna selama menggunakan situs Perpustakaan UI. Pengguna yang akan diteliti di penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa dan juga alumni dari Universitas Indonesia. Evaluasi usability dan perancangan desain perbaikan dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan User-Centered Design. Evaluasi dilakukan dengan survei daring, usability testing, dan juga contextual interview dengan metode kuantitatif dan kualitatif yang selanjutnya dihubungkan dengan prinsip Eight Golden Rules of Interface Design. Hasil penelitian dari survei daring dan usability testing serta contextual interview dapat menghasilkan tiga persona dan menunjukkan bahwa usability dari situs Perpustakaan UI yang sekarang perlu dilakukannya perbaikan. Rancangan desain perbaikan yang telah dibuat terbukti menyelesaikan permasalahan usability yang ada, diukur dari completion rate dan time-based efficiency yang meningkat secara signifikan pada situs Perpustakaan UI. ......The Universitas Indonesia Digital Library website is an academic digital library information system owned by the Universitas Indonesia (UI) or can be called the Library Automation and Digital Archive (LONTAR), which is used by the Universitas Indonesia students as one of the learning and research support units. Developed since 2003, the UI Digital Library website has never been done any research on usability evaluation, to date. In addition, the UI Library website has a high bounce rate when compared to the other Public Universities Digital Library, so there is a need to conduct an evaluation on the UI Library website. This research was conducted to find out what is needed by the user and what kind of difficulties that user has while using the UI Library website. Users who will be examined in this research are the students and the alumni of Universitas Indonesia. Usability evaluation and design improvements is carried out using the User-Centered Design Approach. Evaluations are carried out with the online survey, usability testing and also contextual interviews with quantitative and qualitative methods which are then linked to the principle of Shneiderman’s Eight Golden Rules of Interface Design. The results of the online survey, usability testing and contextual interview produced three personas of users and show that the usability of the UI Library website needs to be improved. The design improvements that have been made, has been proven to solve the existing usability problem measured by completion rate and time-based efficiency which have increased significantly on the UI Library website.

Mempelajari Alquran adalah sebuah kewajiban bagi orang beragama Islam. Oleh karena itu, banyak upaya telah dilakukan untuk dapat mempelajari Alquran dengan baik dan benar. Salah satu upaya yang dilakukan adalah merancang sebuah metode pembelajaran Alquran. Saat ini, telah banyak metode pembelajaran Alquran diperkenalkan.Di sisi lain, sudah banyak aplikasi pembelajaran Alquran yang membantu umat Islam dalam mempelajari Alquran.Namun, belum ada aplikasi yang menggunakan metode pembelajaran Alquran denganpenampilan Asbabun Nuzulyang disusun berdasarkan turunnya ayat Alquran. Padahal, jika dilihat secara garis besar, pada zaman dahulu Nabi Muhammad ﷺ mengajarkan umatnya kala itu secara berangsur-angsur sesuai dengan turunnya suatu ayat. Mempelajari Asbabun Nuzul merupakan hal penting dalam mempelajari Alquran. Dengan mempelajari Asbabun Nuzul,seseorang akan mengetahui konteks dari ayat tersebut sehingga dapat menginterpretasikan pelajaran tersebut dengan lebih baik. Berangkat dari hal tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi desain aplikasi pembelajaran Alquran dengan metode penampilan Asbabun Nuzulyang disusun berdasarkan turunnya ayat Alquran. Dalam mengevaluasi desain aplikasi tersebut, penulis menggunakan metode mixed methodyang memadukan antara evaluasi kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Evaluasi dilakukan pada 10 orang responden. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi, didapatkan bahwa desain aplikasi pembelajaran Alquran yang diteliti memilikirespons yang cukup baik dari segi kualitatif, serta mendapatkan nilai yang cukup tinggi dari perhitungan kuantitatif. ......Learning the Qur'an is mandatory for Muslims. That's why, researchers have done several studies to help people learn the Qur'an properly and correctly. One of the efforts made is to design a method of learning the Qur'an. Nowadays, there are many methods to learn the Qur'an that have been introduced. On the other hand, there are many Qur'an learning applications that help Muslims in learning the Qur'an. However, there is no application that uses the Qur'an learning method using Asbabun Nuzulpresentation technique which is compiled based on the verses of the Qur'an were revealed. In fact, in the broad sense, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺtaught his people at that time in gradually manner according to when the verses of the Qur'an were revealed. From this situation, this study aims to evaluate the design of Qur'an learning applications with the Asbabun Nuzulmethod which is to arrange the studies based on when the verses of the Qur'an were revealed. The author uses a mixed method methodology that combines quantitative and qualitative evaluations. Evaluation was carried out on 10 respondents. Based on the evaluation results, it was found that the design of the Qur'an learning application had a good response in terms of qualitative, as well as getting a high enough score from quantitative calculations.

Saat ini Universitas Indonesia (UI) sudah menerapkan Smart Card UI salah satunya untuk daftar kehadiran mahasiswa yaitu sistem Presentronik. Dengan adanya sistem Presentronik, pengisian presensi yang biasanya dilakukan dengan menandatangani kertas presensi dapat digantikan dengan hanya melakukan tap KTM. Akan tetapi sistem Presentronik yang ada pada saat ini masih memiliki kekurangan dan terdapat banyak potensi untuk dikembangkan. Berangkat dari permasalahan tersebut, penelitian ini akan membahas tentang kebergunaan (usability) sistem Presentronik yang ada pada saat ini untuk selanjutnya akan dibuat alternatif desain untuk sistem Presentronik dengan menggunakan metode user-centered design. Penulis membuat alternatif desain untuk sistem Presentronik. Dari hasil alternatif desain partisipan penelitian merasa terbantu dan memberikan nilai yang lebih baik dibandingkan pada penilaian sistem Presentronik yang ada pada saat ini. Setelah mendapatkan hasil evaluasi alternatif desain, penulis membuat rekomendasi desain untuk sistem Presentronik. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah rekomendasi desain untuk sistem Presentronik dan saran untuk penelitian selanjutnya agar penelitian tersebut dapat berjalan lebih baik lagi. ......Currently Universitas Indonesia (UI) has implemented the Smart Card UI, one of which is to register student attendance, namely the Presentronic system. With the Presentronic system, presence attendance, which is usually done by signing the presence paper, can be replaced by just taping the KTM. However, the presentronic system still has shortcomings and there is a lot of potential to be developed. Departing from these problems, this research will discuss about the usability of the current Presentronic system henceforth an alternative design for the Presentronic system will be made using the user-centered design method. The author makes alternative designs for the Presentronic system. From the results of alternative design research participants felt helped and gave a better value than the present Presentation system assessment. After getting the results of the evaluation of alternative designs, the authors make design recommendations for the Presentronic system. The results of this study are design recommendations for the Presentronic system and suggestions for further research so that the research can run better.

Creating a university librarys website needs to pay attention to usability aspect as a key of success and also as a user requirement for a website existence. The purpose of this research is to identify and analyze what problem would user facing and also giving a recommendation for maintenance in websites interface to become more user-friendly. In this research, we did usability test to Universitas Mercu Buana librarys website using cognitive walkthrough method. A Cognitive walkthrough is a method to test usability where tester does series of task scenario to reach its goal. Usability test component covers effectiveness and efficiency. The result of this testing shows that the rate of finished task scenario from respondent are 90%. The Margin of error in this task scenario are from downloading from ProQuest database article. The average time for respondent completes all the task scenario is 680 seconds. The problem that users facing when using the website are finding book title, downloading thesis, finding journal title, finding article title, and downloading article from ProQuest database. the improvement this website need are adding the new search filter for ProQuest database article, the search box should be on every web pages, collection availability status should be showing in the search result without clicking title or call number, and term naming should be relevant to the content.

TukangSayur.co merupakan salah satu platform yang diandalkan oleh masyarakat di Indonesia dalam memenuhi kebutuhan mereka terutama dalam membeli bahan makanan secara daring.Selain itu, dengan adanya TukangSayur.co, masyarakat menjadi lebih sadar akan kesehatan dengan membudayakan memasak di rumah. Sayangnya, masih terdapat bagian dariTukangSayur.co yang dapat diperbaiki, baik dari segi tampilan maupun fungsi onalitas fitur-fitur yang ada. Hal ini menjadi salah satu pendorong dibutuhkannya evaluasi usability pada aplikasi untuk menemukan permasalahan yang dialami pengguna dan menentukan solusi dalam bentuk desain alternatif yang dapat meningkatkan pengalaman pengguna atau user experience (UX). Pada penelitian ini, metode yang digunakan yaitu metode kuantitatif berupa survei daring danmetode kualitatif berupa user interview. Pendekatan penelitian ini menggunakan prinsip desain User-Centered Design (UCD). Hasil yang ditemukan pada penelitian ini menyangkut padamasalah usability sehingga membutuhkan perbaikan pada fitur-fitur yang sudah ada dan perancangan fitur baru untuk meningkatkan usability. Solusi desain yang dirancang berdasarkan masalah usability yang ditemukan selanjutnya dievaluasi pada kegiatan Usability Testing (UT). Secara keseluruhan, hasil evaluasi yang diperoleh positif secara kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil UT yang didapat adalah rata-rata sebesar 97,992% untuk tingkat keberhasilan tugas yang diuji danrata-rata sebesar 98,046% untuk tingkat keberhasilan setiap pengguna. Hasil evaluasi juga menunjukkan bahwa pengguna mendapatkan kesan yang baik dan memberikan umpan balik positif terhadap rancangan desain alternatif. ......TukangSayur.co is one of the platforms that people in Indonesia rely on to meet their needs, especially when it comes to buying groceries boldly. In addition, with TukangSayur.co, people arebecoming more aware of their health by making it a habit to cook at home. Unfortunately, thereare still parts of TukangSayur.co that can be improved, both in terms of appearance and functionality of existing features. This is one of the drivers that requires usability evaluation in applications to find problems experienced by users and determine solutions in the form ofalternative designs that can improve user experience or user experience (UX). In this study, the method used is a quantitative method in the form of a survey and a qualitative method in the form of user interviews. This research approach uses design principle of User-Centered Design (UCD). The results found in this study relate to usability problems so that itrequires improvements to existing features and the design of new features to improve usability. Design solutions that are designed based on the usability problems found are then evaluated in the Usability Testing (UT) activity. Overall, the evaluation results obtained were positive quantitatively and qualitatively. The UT results obtained are an average of 97.992% for the success rate of the tasks tested and an averageof 98.046% for the success rate of each user. The evaluation results also show that users get a good impression and provide positive feedback on alternative designs.

Perancangan Visual Usability pada Aplikasi Financial Personal Assistant dengan Metode Kansei Mining Salah satu aplikasi personal assistant yang mulai marak digunakan adalah financial assistant. Aplikasi financial personal assistant adalah sebuah aplikasi yang dapat menjawab masalah pengelolaan keuangan yang seringkali dialami oleh kaum muda. Pengembangan aplikasi financial personal assistant juga perlu diperhatikan dari segi user interface-nya. Untuk merancang user interface pada aplikasi mobile yang interaktif dengan pengguna, seorang desainer harus berfokus pada pengalaman pengguna user experience agar aplikasi tersebut menarik dan berfungsi dengan baik. Penelitian ini memetakan Kansei Word terhadap gambar desain aplikasi financial personal assistant sehingga didapatkan beberapa Kansei Word yang terkait dengan beberapa gambar desain aplikasi financial personal assistant dan fitur-fitur yang diinginkan oleh konsumen. Penelitian ini memberikan alternatif desain baru untuk desain aplikasi financial personal assistant yang memenuhi kebutuhan afektif konsumen.

Visual Usability Design of the Financial Personal Assistant Application with Kansei Mining MethodOne of the personal assistant applications that began to bloom in use is a financial assistant. A financial personal assistant application is an application that can address financial management issues that are often experienced by young people. Development of financial personal assistant application also needs to be considered in terms of its user interface. To design user interfaces on interactive mobile applications with users, a designer must focus on the user experience to make the app attractive and functioning properly. This research mapped Kansei Word on financial design application design drawing so that some Kansei Word related to some image design of financial personal assistant application and features desired by consumer. This research provides a new design alternative for the design of financial personal assistant applications that meet the affective needs of consumers.

Performa karyawan menjadi salah satu bahan kriteria dalam hal perekrutan termasuk juga dalam perekrutan internal internal. Happy5, sebagai perusahaan Software as a Service (SaaS), mengembangkan sebuah platform bernama Happy5 Performance yang membantu dalam pengelolaan performa karyawan. Berdasarkan wawancara dengan beberapa tim di Happy5, teridentifikasi kebutuhan akan modul yang mendukung perekrutan internal berdasarkan performa yang dikenal dengan nama Internal Talent Management. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan rekomendasi desain Internal Talent Management kepada perusahaan dan menguji kebergunaan desain tersebut. Pendekatan User-Centered Design digunakan dalam perancangan modul ini untuk memahami kebutuhan pengguna lebih mendalam. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah mixed-method research, dengan mengumpulkan data kuantitatif dan kualitatif melalui kuesioner, wawancara kontekstual, usability testing dan System Usability Scale (SUS). Sebanyak 139 responden terlibat dalam pengumpulan data kebutuhan awal yang menjadi input untuk perancangan desain. Hasil dari analisis data didapatkan enam kebutuhan fitur desain yang dirancang dengan menerapkan prinsip Shneiderman's Eight Golden Rules of Interface Design. Pada pelaksanaan usability testing, dilibatkan sepuluh responden dalam melakukan wawancara kontekstual dan penilaian SUS yang menghasilkan skor SUS 76,5 serta 16 saran perbaikan. Rekomendasi desain yang dilakukan untuk meningkatkan usability dari Happy5 Performance dalam hal membantu perekrutan internal organisasi klien. ......Employee performance is one of many factors to be considered in the hiring process, including internal hiring. Happy5, as a Software as a Service (SaaS) company, continuously brings innovation has created a platform called Happy5 Performance that helps in managing performance. Based on interviews with the development team within Happy5, Happy5 performance needs Internal Talent Management to support client’s internal recruitment based on performance. Therefore, this research aims to provide Internal Talent Management design recommendations to the company and test the usability of its design. In this research, the User-Centered Design approach was employed to gain a deeper understanding of the user needs. The research method used is mixed-method research, with quantitative and qualitative data collection through questionnaires, contextual interviews, usability testing and System Usability Scale (SUS). In the initial data collection, a total of 139 respondents participated. The results of the data analysis obtained 6 design feature requirements designed by applying Shneiderman's Eight Golden Rules of Interface Design principles. In the implementation of usability testing, 10 respondents were involved in conducting contextual interviews and SUS assessments which resulted in an SUS score of 76.5 and 16 suggestions for improvement. Design recommendations made to improve the usability of Happy5 Performance in terms of assisting internal hiring of client organizations.

The study aims to usability analysis the National Library of Indonesia home page based the results of Paramjeet and Gupta research. The method used was think-aloud. In this method, one user was observed when doing the assignment and asked to express choices, feelings, or thoughts when testing the website. There are seven phases in this method, i.e 1) literature study of usability, usability testing and think- aloud, 2) self-evaluation of the home page of National Library of Indonesia website, conducted by comparing the results of Paramjeet and Gupta study, 3) determination of assessment parameters, 4) determination of the number and criteria of the respondents, 5) analysis of home page usability by the respondents, 6) analysis of the results, conducted based on the respondent transcripts, and 7) recommendations. There were ten respondents, with medium internet literacy skill. They expressed their thoughts and feelings when testing the home page. There were criteria used in the assessment :1) the main features consist of logo and name of organization, about us, contact us, and archive and archiving; 2)URL (Uniform Resources Locator); 3) window title; 4) date and time; 5) writing content; 6) navigation; 7) search; 8) graphic and animation.Based on the analysis, it shows that home page of the National Library of Indonesia website needs to be improved. The improvements needed are: the addition of about us feature on the main menu; contact us becomes part of about us in the main menu; the results of the archive and archiving is in the form of title, in order to facilitate the information retrieval; the moving boxes in the navigation are replaced with fixed boxes using different colors with the color news; the search is equipped with advanced search, and graphics and animation should also be improved not only as a home page ornament.

Pejabat pengelola informasi dan dokumentasi atau PPID adalah sistem layanan informasi publik yang dimiliki oleh Kementerian Luar Negeri RI atau Kemlu RI. PPID bertugas melaksanakan kegiatan penyimpanan, pendokumentasian, penyediaan, dan pelayanan informasi publik. PPID merupakan implementasi Undang-Undang No. 14 Tahun 2008 tentang Keterbukaan Informasi Publik (UU KIP). Website PPID Kementerian Luar Negeri dapat diakses melalui tautan berikut https://e-ppid.kemlu.go.id/. Tetapi berdasarkan evaluasi singkat terhadap desain antarmuka website PPID Kemlu RI masih terdapat kekurangan pada aspek user experience. Berdasarkan landasan desain yang kami pakai yaitu Shneiderman's Eight Golden Rules of Interface Design masih terdapat kekurangan dalam poin offer informative feedback, cater to universal usability, strive for consistency. Adanya penelitian ini ditujukan untuk memperdalam pemahaman mengenai permasalahan yang dirasakan oleh pengguna. Dari pemahaman tersebut akan diberikan output berupa desain alternatif website PPID Kemlu RI yang di desain dengan pendekatan User Centered Design (UCD). Selain itu, terdapat pula evaluasi desain antarmuka atau User Interface (UI) dan usability dengan metode usability testing dan contextual interview. Penelitian ini menghasilkan rancangan desain antarmuka yang memiliki skor evaluasi yang baik, dengan rata-rata success rate pada usability testing sebesar 97,8%. Penelitian ini kemudian ditutup dengan saran yang dapat diterapkan pada penelitian selanjutnya. ......The information and documentation management officer or PPID is a public information service system owned by the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. PPID is tasked with carrying out storage, documentation, provision and service of public information. PPID is an implementation of Law no. 14 of 2008 concerning Openness of Public Information (UU KIP). The PPID Ministry of Foreign Affairs website can be accessed via the following link https://e- ppid.kemlu.go.id/. However, based on a brief evaluation of the interface design of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs' PPID website, there are still deficiencies in the user experience aspect. Based on the design basis that we use, namely Shneiderman's Eight Golden Rules of Interface Design, there are still deficiencies in the points of offering informative feedback, catering to universal usability, striving for consistency. This research is aimed at deepening understanding of the problems felt by users. From this understanding, output will be provided in the form of an alternative design for the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs' PPID website which is designed using a User Centered Design (UCD) approach. Apart from that, there is also an evaluation of the interface design or User Interface (UI) and usability using the usability testing and contextual interview methods. This research produced an interface design that had a good evaluation score, with an average success rate in usability testing of 97.8%. This research then closes with suggestions that can be applied in further research.
