"ABSTRAKTulisan ini membahas identitas budaya dan makna lsquo;rumah rsquo; bagi kelompok diaspora Maluku di Belanda yang direpresentasikan melalui potret kehidupan sebuah keluarga mantan KNIL, keluarga Kainama. Kisah ini diceritakan oleh Sylvia Pessireron dalam roman De Verzwegen Soldaat. Dalam tulisan ini digunakan konsep identitas budaya dari Stuart Hall. Orang Maluku merekonstruksikan lsquo;ruang rsquo; di Belanda sebagai lsquo;rumah rsquo; mereka dan berusaha membawa instrumen-instrumen budaya Maluku.

ABSTRACTThis paper analyzed cultural identity of the Moluccan diaspora group and meaning of lsquo home rsquo to them through the potrait of an ex KNIL family life, the Kainama rsquo s. The story written by Sylvia Pessireron in a roman titled De Verzwegen Soldaat. This paper also used the cultural identity theory from Stuart Hall. The Moluccans reconstruct lsquo space rsquo in the Netherlands as their lsquo home rsquo and try to bring cultural instruments of the Moluccans within it. "

"Makalah ini bertanya tentang perkembangan pembangunan identitas budaya suatu kelompok ketika mereka tidak tinggal di daerah asli mereka lagi. Diaspora dulu dikenal sebagai penyebaran kelompok tertentu khususnya orang Yahudi dan Cina ke negara atau daerah lain. Namun sekarang term diaspora telah dipakai untuk menyebut setiap orang yang meninggalkan negara asal ke negara lain. Dalam kasus ini, orang-orang Maluku yang pindah ke Belanda dengan alasan menolak bergabung dengan Indonesia. Singkatnya, makalah ini akan menjelaskan tentang pengaruh diaspora dalam pembentukan identitas imigran Maluku yang tinggal di Belanda dalam cerita Onder de sneeuw een Indisch Graf.

This paper asks about how the establishment of one cultural identity grows while they’re not in their homeland anymore. The word Diaspora has been understood as the dissemination of certain group of people -notably the Jewish and Chinese- to other country or land. Nowadays it has been used to refer every people or groups that leaves their homeland to other countries. In this case, the Mollucans that moved to the Netherland since they don’t want to be under the name of Indonesia. In short, this paper will also explain of the influence of diaspora itself to the shape of identity of the immigrant from Mollucas that has stayed in the Netherland in Onder de sneeuw een Indisch Graf."

"Skripsi ini membahas pembentukan identitas budaya pada diri tokoh dalam cerita pendek Le Corps de F licie karya Assia Djebar. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menunjukkan pembentukan identitas budaya yang dialami para tokoh pada cerita pendek ini. Pertama-tama dilakukan analisis sintagmatik, yakni analisis pengaluran dan alur. Analisis dibuat dalam bentuk penyusunan urutan satuan isi cerita USIC, dan fungsi utama. Selanjutnya, analisis yang dilakukan adalah analisis paradigmatik yang terdiri dari analisis tokoh, hubungan antartokoh, dan latar. Hasil penelitian ini memperlihatkan bahwa identitas budaya adalah identitas yang dibentuk dari kompleksitas identitas ras, kebangsaan, etnis, dan agama yang melekat pada diri seseorang. Adapun yang memengaruhi pembentukan identitas budaya pada diri seseorang adalah identitas ras, pilihan hidup, dan lingkungan sosial.

This thesis discusses the construction of cultural identity in each of the character of Djebar rsquo s work, Le Corps de F licie. The aim of this study is to show the construction of cultural identity experienced by the characters in this short story. First, syntagmatic analysis consists of the plot analysis. The analysis is made in form of collating the units of story sequence, and the main function. Furthermore, the paradigmatic analysis consisted of analysis of the figures, the interaction between characters, and background of the story. This study shows that cultural identity is the composition of the complexity of race, nationality, ethnicity, and religion which are inherent in a person. Descendant background, life choices, and social environment, are the factor that influence the construction of cultural identity."

"ABSTRAKDalam artikel ini dibahas reader-response pembaca dewasa atas buku cerita anak Strijd overzee karya Joke de Jonge 2009 dari ranah sastra Hindia-Belanda. Metode deskriptif kualitatif digunakan untuk menganalisis cerita dan unsur-unsur intrinsik cerita dalam buku tersebut. Selanjutnya ditelisik reader-response pembaca dewasa, yang merupakan reaksi timbal balik terhadap buku tersebut. Hindia-Belanda digambarkan sebagai negeri yang eksotis, bagian dari koloni Belanda, juga dihuni oleh orang-orang yang tidak dapat dipercayai. Gambaran ini identik dengan lsquo;pemahaman rsquo; pembaca dewasa yang memiliki lebih banyak pengetahuan tentang Hindia-Belanda. Respon dan ketertarikan pembaca dewasa ini ditemukan dalam beberapa situs forum berbahasa Belanda yang bertemakan nostalgia atas sejarah dan budaya Indis. Buku ini diterima dengan baik oleh pembaca dewasa alih-alih pembaca anak.Kata kunci: cerita anak, sastra Hindia-Belanda, reader-response.

ABSTRACTThe purpose of this research is to describe adult rsquo s reader response to Strijd overzee by Joke de Jonge 2009 from the field of Dutch East Indies literature. This research is using descriptive qualitative method to analyse the intrinsic elements. Then, adult rsquo s reader response is further examined to see how adults react to the content of the book. Dutch East Indies is represented as an exotic country, part of Dutch colony, and occupied by untrusted people. Those representations are identic with the lsquo comprehension rsquo of adult readers who has more knowledge about Dutch East Indies. Those responses and interests are found in a few f orum sites concerning the history and culture of Indo. This book is more welcomed by adult readers than child readers.Keywords children rsquo s story, Dutch East Indies Literature, reader response. "

"Kolonialisme memiliki dampak terhadap banyak hal, dan sebagian besar dari dampak tersebut adalah dampak negatif. Hal itu terjadi pula pada masa penjajahan Belanda di Hindia-Belanda. Kisah-kisah mengenai Hindia Belanda banyak dijumpai pada karya sastra postkolonial, salah satunya adalah fragmen yang berjudul Familiefeest karya Theodor Holman. Holman yang berdarah campuran Indo-Belanda menjadi saksi hidup akan keberlangsungan kehidupan kolonial maupun postkolonial. Melalui fragmen Familiefeest, tergambarkan bagaimana orang-orang yang berhubungan dengan masa kolonial, terutama kaum Indo-Belanda memiliki permasalahan dengan identitasnya. Mereka berusaha mengukuhkan bahwa dirinya adalah seorang Belanda murni, walaupun secara fisik mereka tidak sama dengan orang Belanda pada umumnya, tetapi juga tidak seperti orang pribumi asli. Problematika identitas merupakan wacana yang seringkali muncul dalam cerita peninggalan penjajahan.

Colonialism has an impact on many things, and most of the impact is negative. It also occurred during the Dutch colonial at Dutch-East Indies. The stories of the Dutch-East Indies often found in postcolonial literature, one of which is a fragment of a work entitled Familiefeest by Theodor Holman. As a mixed-blood Indo-Dutch, Holman will be a living witness of colonial and postcolonial continuing life. Through Familiefeest fragments, illustrated how people associated with the colonial period, especially the Indo-Dutch have problems with identity. They are trying to confirm that he is a pure Dutch, although physically they are not the same as the Dutch in general, but also did not like the indigenous. Problems of identity is a discourse that often appear in the story colonial legacy."

"Film adalah salah satu contoh budaya populer yang sekarang ini digemari oleh banyak orang. Film Eat Sugar and Speak Sweetly ini merupakan sebuah interpretasi dari kebudayaan Turki yang mengangkat tradisi pernikahan paksa yang terjadi pada imigran Turki di Jerman. Tradisi ini terjadi karena adanya identitas budaya yang dipertahankan oleh generasi pertama para imigran Turki. Mereka hanya mengizinkan anak-anak perempuan mereka menikah dengan lelaki keturunan Turki. Hal itu mereka lakukan karena mereka tidak ingin tradisi Turki yang telah mereka bawa dari negara asal mereka dan tercampur dengan tradisi orang Jerman yang menurut mereka dapat merusak identitas kelompoknya sebagai orang Turki.

Film is one example of popular culture which is enjoyed by many people. This Eat Sugar and Speak Sweetly movie is an interpretation of Turkish Culture showing forced marriage tradition of Turkish immigrant in Germany. This tradition exists because of cultural identity that remains in the first generation of Turkish immigrant. They only allow the women to marry Turkish men. They do this thing because they don’t want the Turkish tradition that they brought from home to be mixed up with German culture that they think will ruin their Turkish culture."

"Lingkungan keluarga merupakan fondasi awal yang membentuk identitas sosial seseorang, terutama peran orang tua. Dalam kehidupan orang-orang dari keluarga broken home di masa poskolonial, identitas sosial seringkali menjadi isu sentral. Krisis identitas yang berujung pada rekonstruksi identitas tidak hanya dialami oleh keturunan Indo di Indonesia, namun juga di Belanda, seperti yang dialami tokoh utama dalam fragmen De Onschuld van Een Vis karya Alfred Birney. Tulisan ini berusaha memaparkan bagaimana proses rekonstruksi identitas sosial dipengaruhi oleh faktor sejarah, budaya dan lingkungan sosial. Dalam menganalisis permasalahan identitas sosial ini, metode yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian deskriptif dengan mempelajari situasi, tata cara, sikap, pandangan dan terutama dialog di dalamnya. Selain itu, penelitian ini bersifat kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan poskolonial. Di akhir pembahasan, terlihat bahwa ternyata peran ayah sebagai faktor utama yang merupakan figur negatif pembentuk identitas awal tokoh utama juga terlibat secara implisit di balik faktor budaya dan lingkungan sosial dalam proses rekonstruksi identitas sosial tokoh utama tersebut.

Family environment is a basic foundation that establishes someone’s social identity, parents’ role is the foremost. For ones lives from a broken home family in post-colonial period, social identity is often considered a central issue. Crisis of identity that led into reconstruction of identity is not only experienced by Indo people that stayed in Indonesia, but also in the Netherlands, as it showed by the main character in one of chapters from De Onschuld van Een Vis by Alfred Birney. This paper tries to describe how reconstruction process of social identity influenced by historical, cultural and social environment. Descriptive research is used to analyze this social identity issue. This method has always been used to study situations, manners, attitudes, views, and especially dialogues in fragment. For addition, this is a qualitative study that using a post-colonial approach. At the end of this paper, we would see that the fact is the father's role as the main factor of a negative figure that formed the main character’s early identity, also implicitly involved behind the cultural and social environment in that reconstruction process of the main character’s social identity."
