"The book explores profiles of culture-management axis through secondary literature study in various languages of the East, empirical research conducted with nearly one thousand managers and 375 organizations in India. The effective management in the next millennium will be mission-based strategic integration of the team, combined with people-sensitive approach. In spite of growth of hi-tech, the emotional human issues will dominate the coming decades. Happiness and health in institutions will largely depend on successive sacrifice of greed and possessiveness in creation of wealth for human development. The meltdown in the US and its repercussions in the world are direct outcome of failure to learn these lessons. Already the world is witnessing acute consciousness of interdependence and universal linkages. This is the quintessence of Vedanta, Zen-Buddhism and Sufi order in the Eastern globe. West-dominated management technology must now synthesize with Eastern intuition and values. The book is divided into three parts. First part delves into East-West psyche. Second part presents integration-affection model as potential approach to effective management. Third part shows the author’s successful applications of the approach in different organizations while working as chief executive or consultant."

This study is to analyze the Orientalism, cross cultural and feminine issues in order to find someone?s identity in The Woman Warrior, a novel written by Maxine Hong Kingston, since this novel talks about a Chinese girl who lives in America and is confused about her identity. The theoretical approach will be historical, sociological and feminist theories because they are related to the study which is to analyze a woman's life in the historical and cultural context of Chinese - American society. The result shows that Kingston is still confused to which identity she belongs to, Chinese or American. Her mother asks her to keep her Chinese tradition culture. On the other hand, her society pushes her to adapt the American culture. The narratives illustrate the impossible task of negotiating two different cultures and finding a balance to construct gender and ethnic identity. Finally, in all of narratives a similar thread reappears in the form of the past and its influence on the progression of their gender and ethnic identities.

Publisher Synopsis
"Well-written and concepts are well explained. Cultural Approach is evident throughout." -Dr Wallace Smith, Union County College "The writing style is engaging, especially in the opening stories and all concepts are clearly explained." -Colleen Fawcett, Palm Beach State College "The writing style is engaging. It is straightforward, factual and descriptive without being overwhelming in the volume of concepts trying to be addressed. Sections connect to each other, using supporting features to link one to another. The author has gone out of the way to indicate where related concepts were discussed in previous chapters." -Carrie Dale, Eastern Illinois University "Child Development: A Cultural Approach provides the student with an overview of the development of children in middle childhood while comparing the development to children from other cultures and countries. The text is easy to read, making it easy for students to stay engaged and understand the content." -April Grace, Madisonville Community Colege "I would seriously consider this book for my developmental psychology course which has as its focus birth through adolescence. This book appears to provide the element of culture which is absent from other text books." -Randolph Manning, Suffolk County Community Colleg"

"Focussing on a transcultural history, this book questions the territoriality of historical concepts and offers a narrative, which aims to overcome cultural essentialism by focussing on crossing borders of all kinds. The authors aim to present a useful approach to global history, showing first of all how a Eurocentric but universal historiography removed or essentialised certain topics in Asian history. This book accesses the global past after World War I, looking at the well known stage of the Paris Peace Conferences, observing the multiplication of new borders and the variety of transgressing institutions, concepts, actors, men and women inventing themselves as global subjects, but sharing a bitter experience with almost all local societies at this time, namely the awareness of having relatives buried in far distant places due to globalised wars."

"This book also examines various aspects of intercultural economic influences, such as those of culture on international trade. Evidence from a broad panel of nations supports the presumption that high-income trade partners will be less sensitive to the measures of cultural dissimilarity than low-income trade partners between which cultural dissimilarity leads to barriers to international trade. The treatment of linguistic and religious factors as continuous variables in this book has improved past studies in which ‘language’ was treated as one or more dummy variables and ‘religion’ was ignored."
