ABSTRACT Background: Bipolar disorder is characterized by one or more of mood episode that change dramatically. The wide variation of clinical presentation of bipolar disorder often make this disorder wrongly diagnosed initially, especially for Bipolar Disorder Type II, who came with depression, because of the underdetection of hypomania episode. Therefore, there is an increasingly need for an instrument to help detecting hypomania episode as an important sign of bipolarity in patient with mood disorders. Method: This study is a validity and reability testing of Hypomania Checklist-33 applying cross sectional study design. The samples were recruited using consecutive sampling technique towards 111 respondents with mood disorders, including Bipolar Disorder Type I, Bipolar Disorder Type II, and Major Depressive Disorder, in RSCM Psychiatry Outpatient Unit and Bipolar Care Indonesia Community from April to November 2015. Results: The result of this study, shows that the Hypomania Checklist-33 Indonesian Version is valid and reliable to assess the episode of hypomania which often underdiagnosed in clinical setting. Conclusion: Hypomania Checklist-33 Indonesian version can be use as a routine screening tool in detecting bipolarity among patients with mood disorders.

ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT
ICD-10 defined bipolar as an affective or emotional mental disorder. In clinical practice, the first step preceeding any action is diagnosis. Diagnosis is crucial in determining the next step needed. In concluding a diagnosis, acquiring information could be done by the practice of anamnesis. In children and adolescent, alloanamnesis method is usually used to complete information acquired from autoanamnesis, considering their competence in giving accountable information. This research studies the correlation between the alloanamnesis subject as the source of information with the accuracy of diagnosis. Data is taken from medical records, and the diagnosis accuracy is rated by comparing the doctors notes in the medical records with ICD-10s diagnosis criteria for bipolar. Data retrieval is conducted by total sampling the whole population of 0-24 years old bipolar patients in Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospitals Psychiatric Policlinic. The result shows that main family is the majority alloanamnesis subject. The result also shows the existance of inaccurate bipolar diagnosis. Statistically, the results are insignificant, and thus the correlation between alloanamnesis subject and diagnosis accuracy could not be concluded, although it is shown that 18 cases with main family as the alloanamnesis subject shows accurate diagnosis from the total study sample of 26.

ABSTRACT
Bipolar disorder is a mental disorder presenting as a cycle of manic and depressive episode. In previous studies, patients with bipolar disorder with comorbidities were found to have lowered quality of life, prognosis, and life expectancy compared to those without, and the incidence of bipolar disorder with comorbidities in adult and geriatric patients were 20 and 28 percent, respectively. Based on these studies, a study is conducted to research the possibility of age playing a role in the incidence of comorbidity in bipolar disorder. A cross-sectional study was performed on the medical record of all patients diagnosed with bipolar disorder (ICD code F31) whom visited the Children and Adolescent Psychiatric Clinic and Adult Psychiatric Clinic RSUPN Cipto Mangunkusumo in the period of 2008 to 2018. 122 samples were found after taking inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria into account. This research measured 122 cases, in which 47 out of 122 cases were presented with comorbidities. Analysis of the data shows insignificant correlation between age and the incidence of comorbid diseases in bipolar disorder (p = 0,766).

This thesis discusses the image of the burden of the family as caregiver patient with bipolar disorder. This research uses a descriptive qualitative methodology to analyze the data prior. The results of the study concluded that in living two roles as a family member and the role of caregiver is not easy and very exhausting. As the time progresses in carrying out two roles and various activities performed, it causes the caregiver to feel a negative burden affecting biological, psychological and social conditions. The burden is classified into two burden, objective burden and subjective burden. Objective burden is generated as a result of carrying out a variety of physical activities that cause weight, and a subjective burden is a collection of negative feelings affecting a person's psychological condition.

Wheatley, Denys N.
Abstrak :
Written with disarming honesty by a long-term sufferer of bipolar disorder, with more than half a century’s experience of intervention and treatment, this highly personal volume traces the effectiveness of a therapy modality for mental illness that has gained much ground in the past two decades : art. The author began to use art, and in particular doodling, from 1998 as a way of externalizing his feelings. Its expressiveness, accessibility and energy-efficiency was ideally suited to the catatonia he experienced during the bouts of depression that are a feature of bipolar disorder, while as the low moods lifted and his energy surged, he completed more ambitious and elaborate works. As well as being highly eclectic, Wheatley’s assembled oeuvre has afforded him both insights and therapeutic intervention into his condition, once deemed highly debilitating and taboo, but much more socially accepted now that well known sufferers such as Stephen Fry have recounted their experiences of the condition. After an opening account of how the images were generated, the volume reproduces a ‘gallery’ of selected work, and then offers an extended epilogue analyzing the art’s connections with the disorder as well as the author’s assessment of how each attempt at visual self-expression was, for him, a therapeutic intervention. Wheatley, a cell biologist who has enjoyed a full career in cancer research, has had no formal training in art, yet his haunting pictures, many of them resembling life forms, are brought to life by his perceptive, self-aware commentary.
