"Makalah ini menganalisis unsur mimikri pada cerita pendek Sayyidu As-Sāḥah karya Muhammad Zafzaf, sastrawan yang berasal dari Maroko. Penjajahan Prancis terhadap Maroko memberikan pengaruh besar dalam perkembangan karya sastra di negara tersebut. Tema karya sastra pada saat itu sebagian besar bertemakan nasionalisme dan identitas bangsa. Setelah kemerdekaan Maroko pada tahun 1956, masih banyak karya sastra yang mengangkat tema mengenai kehidupan masyarakat sebelum kemerdekaan. Muhammad Zafzaf merupakan salah satu sastrawan terkenal Maroko yang telah menerbitkan berbagai novel dan cerita pendek. Pada makalah ini, akan dilakukan analisis salah satu cerita pendek dari Muhammad Zafzaf dengan menggunakan teori postcolonialism yang dikemukakan oleh Homi K. Bhabha, yaitu mimikri untuk mengetahui jejak kolonialisme yang diceritakan dalam cerita pendek tersebut. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data melalui studi pustaka. Dari penlitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat tujuh kalimat yang mengandung unsur mimikri pada cerita pendek Sayyidu As-Sāḥah yang terbagi dalam tiga kategori; transportasi, gaya hidup dan bahasa.

This paper analyzes mimicry elements in one of Moroccan writer’s short story titled Sayyidu As-Sāḥah by Muhammad Zafzaf. French colonialism in Morocco gave a huge impact on the development of its literature. At that time, the literatures are mainly focused on nationalism and national identity. After Morocco’s independence in 1956, there are still literatures that focused on telling the social life before independence. Muhammad Zafzaf is one of the famous writer in Morocco that has published numerous novels and short stories. This paper will analyze one of Muhammad Zafzaf’s short stories using mimicry theory, a part of Homi K. Bhabha’s postcolonialism theory, to retrace the colonialism elements written within the story. This paper uses qualitative descriptive method by collecting relevant sources that are related to the paper. From this research, it can be concluded that there are seven sentences containing mimicry elements in Sayyidu As-Sāḥah which were divided into three categories; transportation, lifestyle and language."

"Artikel ini merupakan penelitian mengenai kesan fantastik cerita pendek Véra karya Auguste Villiers de l'Isle-Adam. Cerita fantastik menimbulkan kesan fantastik berupa keraguan bagi pembacanya. Dengan menggunakan teori cerita fantastik Tzvetan Todorov, penelitian ini mengungkapkan bagaimana kesan fantastik ditampilkan dalam cerita berdasarkan tiga aspek, yaitu sintaksis, semantik, dan verbal. Tokoh utama Comte d'Athol yang begitu berduka atas kematian isterinya mengalami gangguan psikis sehingga muncul delusi atau halusinasi yang sulit diterima akal sehat. Hasil dari penelitian ini memperlihatkan bahwa kesan fantastik tampil sangat menonjol berdasarkan aspek sintaksis, semantik, dan verbal dalam cerita.

This article is a research about fantastic effect that is contained in Véra, a short story by Auguste Villiers de l'Isle-Adam. The fantastic story builds fantastic effect, which is a doubt for readers. By using the theory of fantastic story by Tzvetan Todorov, this research revealed how fantastic effect appeared based on three aspects, namely syntax, semantics, and verbal. The main character named Comte d'Athol, who mourns the death of his wife, had mental disorders that arise delusion or hallucination that defies the common sense. This research showed that the fantastic effect appeared strongly based on aspect of syntax, semantics, and verbal in the story."

"ABSTRAKHumanisme merupakan salah satu aliran atau paham dalam ilmu filsafat yang menjunjung tinggi nilai dan martabat manusia, serta menjadikan manusia sebagai tolak ukur dari segenap penilaian, kejadian dan gejala di atas muka bumi ini. Humanisme menyorot seluruh aspek kemanusiaan dalam seorang individu, baik dari segi interaksinya dengan individu lain, maupun interaksinya dengan dirinya sendiri. Sesuai dengan hal tersebut, tema humanisme dalam cerita pendek Neowa Namanui Sigan (Time for You and Me Alone) karya Hwang Sun-won dapat dilihat melalui narasi atau dialog yang terjadi di antara satu tokoh dengan tokoh lainnya, serta yang dilakukan satu tokoh pada dirinya sendiri. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa, cerita pendek ini menampilkan unsur humanisme dengan menyorot tindakan-tindakan yang diambil seorang individu ketika telah berada di ambang kematian; apakah individu tersebut masih dapat mempertahankan hati nuraninya, atau malah, sifat egois demi bertahan hidup akan mulai muncul ke permukaan. Dalam Berdasarkan riset yang telah dilakukan, dalam Neowa Namanui Sigan, juga dapat ditemukan unsur humanisme yang menampilkan manusia dengan karakternya yang bermacam-macam, dinamis dan kadang terkesan kontradiktif.

ABSTRACTHumanism is one of the courses or concepts in philosophy which upholds the values and dignity of humans and makes humans as a benchmark to measure all kinds of judgments, events and symptoms that are happening on this earth. Humanism highlights all aspects of humanity in an individual, both in terms of their interactions with other individuals, as well as their interactions with their very own selves. In accordance with this, the theme or aspect of humanism in Hwang Sun-won's short story Neowa Namanui Sigan (Time for You and Me Alone) can be seen through the narration or dialogue that occurs both between a character and other characters, as well as between a character and his own self. The very results of the analysis conducted that, this short story displays the element of humanism by highlighting the actions taken by an individual when he is on the verge of death; whether the corresponding individual can still maintain his conscience, or instead, selfishness for survival will begin to surface within himself. Based on the research that has been done, it can be concluded that in Neowa Namanui Sigan can also be found elements of humanism which display human beings with their various, dynamic and sometimes contradictive characters."

"ABSTRAKPenelitian ini membahas unsur satirik dalam sebuah karya sastra. Satire adalah sebuah sarana bagi pengarang maupun pembaca untuk menuangkan kritik dalam sebuah karya sastra dengan bebas. Sebuah satire dalam karya sastra memiliki ciri khas, yaitu tidak menggunakan alur yang berkesinambungan, lebih menonjolkan tokoh, insiden, dan dialog, serta berakhir dengan ldquo;keadaan yang menyedihkan rdquo; atau dengan ambiguitas. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis struktural dari Tzevatan Todorov. Korpus data penelitian ini adalah cerita pendek berjudul ldquo;Le Sous-Pr fet aux Champs rdquo; karya Alphonse Daudet. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa cerpen ldquo;Le Sous-Pr fet aux Champs rdquo; merupakan cerita satire yang terungkap melalui analisis alur, tokoh, dan peristiwa tertentu, untuk menyindir perilaku pejabat Prancis abad XIX. Kondisi seperti yang tergambar pada tokoh Le Sous-Pr fet memiliki pengaruh pada genre karya sastra pada masa itu. Salah satunya, banyak ditemukan karya sastra bernada satire yang bertujuan untuk menyindir para pejabat pada masa itu.

ABSTRACTThis research discusses the satirical substance in a literature work. Satire is a medium for the authors or the readers to criticize freely through a literature work. A satire in literature has some characteristics, for example not using sustainable plot, further highlight the characters, incidents, and dialogues, ended with a ldquo sad situation rdquo or ambiguity. This research uses structural analysis of Tzevatan Todorov as a method. The corpus of this research is a short story entitled ldquo Le Sous Pr fet aux Champs rdquo by Alphonse Daudet. The analysis showed that the story ldquo Le Sous Pr fet aux Champs rdquo is a satire, revealed through the analysis of plot, character, and several events, to satirize the behavior of French officials in XIX century. The conditions of figure Le Sous Pr fet have an influence on genre of literature at that time. One of them, there were many literature works have within satire to satirize the officials at that time."

"Penelitian ini mengangkat cerita cekak Dongenge Pakdhe Bab Lendhut Lapindo karya Koes Indarto yang dimuat dalam majalah mingguan berbahasa Jawa Panjebar Semangat edisi 1-3 Januari 2009. Analisis dilakukan terhadap unsur-unsur intrinsik yang terdapat dalam cerita cekak tersebut. Unsur-unsur intrinsik meliputi tokoh, alur, latar, serta mencakup tema, dan amanat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif analisis dan pendekatan intrinsik yang dikemukakan oleh Teeuw dalam buku Membaca dan Menilai Sastra. Hasil akhir dari penelitian ini adalah menjelaskan unsur-unsur intrinsik dalam cerita cekak tersebut sehingga saling berkaitan untuk membangun cerita tersebut.

This research raised the short story Dongenge Pakdhe Bab Lendhut Lapindo by Koes Indarto that published in Javanese language weekly magazine Panjebar Semangat edition January 1st – 3rd 2009. The analysis conducted on the intrinsic elements contained in the short story. Intrinsic elements include characters, plot, setting and included a theme, and a mandate. This research used a descriptive method of analysis and the intrinsic approach proposed by Teew in his book Membaca dan Menilai Sastra. The end of result of this research is to explain the intrinsic elements in the short story so interrelated to build the story."

"Penerjemahan bukan hanyak mengenai proses pemindahan suatu teks dari satu bahasa ke bahasa lainnya, tapi ia "menerjemahkan suatu teks ke dalam bahasa lain dengan cara sebagaimana yang dimaksudkan oleh penulis dalam teks." (Newmark dalam Haque, 2012). Maka, dalam memenuhi tujuan penerjamahan, bukanlah hal yang gampang, khususnya dalam bidang sastra. Sebuah badan penerbit yang telah menerjemahkan sastra klasik ke dalam Bahasa Indonesia adalah Fiksi Lotus, dengan salah satu cerpennya Charles oleh Shirley Jakcson. Mirip dengan karyanya yang sebelumnya, Charles adalah sebuah prosa yang menawarkan akhiran cerita yang tak terduga, dan hal ini dicapai melalui foreshadowing dalam tokoh utama, yaitu Laurie. Namun, dalam terjemahannya, ada beberapa perbedaan, baik yang berupa dalam deep atau surface meaning. Oleh karena itu, sebuah kajian mengenai terjemahan cerpen Charles diperlukan, khususnya mengenai penokohan Laurie melalui ucapannya, tindakannya dan deskripsi langsung, dengan memahami arti proposisi dan ekspresif yang terkandung di dalamnya.

Translation is not only a process of transferring one text to a different language, but it is "rendering the meaning of a text into another language in the way that the author intended the text" (Newmark in Haque, 2012). In fulfilling the function of translation, then, is a difficult one, especially in the field of literary. One publisher who has translated classic literary into Indonesian is Fiksi Lotus with one of its prose "Charles" by Shirley Jackson. Similar to her other works, "Charles" is a prose which offers a twist at the end, and this is achieved with the help of foreshadowing through the main character Laurie. However, along the translation, there seems to be a difference with the source text, whether it is the deep or surface meaning. Thus, an analysis of the translation of the short story, specifically of the characterization of Laurie depicted through his speech, action, and direct description in the Indonesian version of the story Charles by understanding both the propositional and expressive meaning, is needed in order to see whether it has fulfilled the intended message which is being conveyed by the source text."

"Artikel ini membahas dampak kolonialisme pada masyarakat Aljazair dalam cerpen Oran, langue morte karya Assia Djebar. Penelitian ini termasuk dalam penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif, sedangkan pendekatan yang dipilih adalah pendekatan tekstual. Pengaruh kolonialisme diteliti berdasarkan peristiwa-peristiwa cerita, deskripsi tokoh serta latar ruang dan waktu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kolonialisme berdampak buruk pada tokoh utama sehingga tokoh utama mengalami trauma yang sangat medalam.

This article analyzes the influence of colonialism in Algeria’s society in short story titled Oran, langue morte by Assia Djebar. This research is classified as a qualitative research by using a descriptive argumentative method and structural approach. The influence of colonialism could be observed based on the story events, characters description, and by the places and times as well. The result of this article shows that colonialism has a negative influence on main character which give her a deep trauma."
