"Dalam makalah ilmiah ini, saya mencoba berefleksi atas pengalaman saya dalam program Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) untuk menunjukkan bagaimana program-program yang dilaksanakan dalamnya beserta dengan diskursus mengenai ekspektasi akan partisipan IISMA ini, mengindikasikan bahwa IISMA merupakan proyek untuk mempromosikan budaya Indonesia dan juga mencoba menciptakan citra tersendiri untuk 'orang Indonesia' di mata masyarakat asing. Namun, saya melihat bahwa dalam upaya mempromosikan kebudayaan Indonesia ini, para koordinator IISMA mengedepankan suatu konsepsi kebudayaan Indonesia yang dibentuk oleh pemikiran Orientalis yang mendorong kami untuk menampilkan kebudayaan Indonesia selayaknya sebuah kebudayaan yang primitif, statis, dan eksotis . Dalam hal ini, saya juga akan menarasikan upaya-upaya saya untuk melawan cara berpikir self-orientalist tersebut, baik itu melalui upaya-upaya untuk mengubah konstruksi self-orientalist itu sendiri, atau dengan menggunakan penggambaran eksotis tersebut untuk memahami identitas saya itu sendiri.

In this paper, I aim to reflect upon experiences from my participation in the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) program to show how the various programs and discourse regarding the expectations for the recipients of the awards point to the program being a project of promoting Indonesian culture and in cultivating a specific image of ‘an Indonesian’ in the eyes of our foreign audience. However, I argue that in these efforts of promoting Indonesian culture, the coordinators of the IISMA program push forward a conception of Indonesian culture that is shaped by Orientalist thought which push us to portray our own culture in a manner that reinforces depictions that paint us as a primitive, static, and exotic culture. I will also narrate how throughout my participation in this event, I have attempted to exercise my own agency to resist against these self-orientalist modes of thinking, either in attempts to reshape them or in using them to find my place during my time abroad.

"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis implementasi program Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) di Universitas Indonesia Tahun 2024. Program IISMA merupakan salah satu program unggulan Kementerian Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset, dan Teknologi yang memberikan kesempatan kepada mahasiswa untuk memperoleh pengalaman akademik dan budaya di universitas ternama dunia. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode pengumpulan data mixed-method lewat survey, wawancara mendalam, dan studi pustaka. Responden penelitian mencakup mahasiswa peserta IISMA, dosen pendamping, pihak Centre of Independent Learning (CIL) UI, serta pihak fakultas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan program IISMA di Universitas Indonesia telah berjalan dengan baik, dengan kualitas sumber daya manusia yang memadai dan pelaksanaan kegiatan yang sesuai Standar Operasional Prosedur (SOP). Namun, ditemukan beberapa kendala, seperti kurangnya konsistensi dalam penyampaian informasi, tumpang tindih tugas staf pelaksana, dan keterlambatan pencairan dana.

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) program at Universitas Indonesia in 2024. IISMA is a flagship program of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, providing students with opportunities to gain academic and cultural experiences at world-renowned universities. This research adopts a quantitative approach using a mixed-method data collection strategy, including survey, in-depth interviews, and literature reviews. The respondents consist of IISMA participants, academic advisors, staff from the Centre of Independent Learning (CIL) UI, and faculty representatives. The findings reveal that the implementation of the IISMA program at Universitas Indonesia has been conducted effectively, supported by adequate human resources and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). However, challenges such as inconsistencies in information dissemination, overlapping staff responsibilities, and delays in fund disbursement were identified."

"Para awardee program IISMA yang diharuskan untuk menjalani perkuliahan selama satu semester di host university sangat mungkin mengalami berbagai tantangan akademik yang berpotensi memunculkan kegagalan sehingga dibutuhkan kemampuan resiliensi akademik yang baik agar awardees dapat bangkit dan menunjukkan performa yang maksimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat hubungan antara self-compassion dan resiliensi akademik dengan perceived social support sebagai moderator. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan menyebarkan kuesioner daring yang berisi tiga alat ukur (ARS-Indonesia, Self-compassion Scale (SCS), dan The Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS)) kepada awardees program IISMA batch 1 dan 2. Hasil analisis data pada 157 partisipan menunjukkan bahwa terdapat korelasi positif yang signifikan antara self-compassion dan resiliensi akademik (r = .646 (p < .001) serta antara perceived social support dan resiliensi akademik (r = .311 (p < .001). Akan tetapi, perceived social support tidak dapat memoderatori hubungan antara self-compassion dan resiliensi akademik F(3,153) = 37.4749 p > .05. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi acuan dalam mengevaluasi program IISMA khususnya dari segi psikologis para awardee saat berada di host country.

IISMA awardees who are required to attend lectures for one semester at the host university may encounter a variety of academic difficulties that could lead to failure. Therefore, awardees need strong academic resilience skills to overcome these difficulties in order to perform well. The aim of this study is to look at the relationship between self-compassion and academic resilience with perceived social support as the moderator. The study was conducted online by giving out questionnaires that include three measurement tools (ARS-Indonesia, Self-compassion Scale (SCS), The Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS) to IISMA alumni from batch 1 and 2. The result from data analysis on 157 participants showed a positive significant correlation between self-compassion and academic resilience (r = .646 (p < .001) as well as between perceived social support and academic resilience (r = .311 (p < .001) ) However, perceived social support cannot moderate the relationship between self-compassion and academic resilience F(3,153) = 37.4749 p > .05. This study is expected to be useful as a reference in evaluating the IISMA program, specifically in terms of the psychological factors of the awardees during the study program in the host country."

"Kebutuhan akan informasi merupakan fenomena umum yang dialami oleh setiap orang dalam berbagai aspek kehidupan, termasuk dalam pencarian informasi, yang menjadi krusial dalam memenuhi kebutuhan tersebut. Hal ini terlihat pada mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Budaya Universitas Indonesia (FIB UI) peserta program Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) 2023 yang mengalami kendala dalam memperoleh informasi yang relevan selama masa persiapan program. Penelitian ini difokuskan untuk mengidentifikasi dan memahami kebutuhan informasi mahasiswa FIB UI peserta program IISMA 2023. Dengan menggunakan metode kuantitatif dan analisis deskriptif, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis informasi yang sering dicari oleh mahasiswa, sumber informasi yang mereka gunakan, dan kendala yang mereka hadapi. Pengumpulan data menggunakan metode kuantitatif melalui kuesioner yang diberikan kepada 37 mahasiswa peserta program IISMA 2023. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa membutuhkan berbagai jenis informasi, mulai dari detail program hingga adaptasi budaya di negara tuan rumah, karena mereka menghadapi tantangan seperti keterbatasan akses ke sumber informasi yang relevan. Penelitian ini menyarankan peningkatan penyediaan informasi dan dukungan bagi peserta program pertukaran untuk memaksimalkan manfaat dari pengalaman internasional mereka.

The need for information is a common phenomenon experienced by everyone in various aspects of life, including in the search for information, which becomes crucial in fulfilling these needs. This is evident among students of the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Indonesia (FIB UI) participating in the 2023 Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) program, who faced difficulties in obtaining relevant information during the preparation for the program. This research is focused on identifying and understanding the information needs of FIB UI students participating in the IISMA 2023 program. Using quantitative methods and descriptive analysis, this study aims to determine the types of information frequently sought by students, the sources of information they use, and the obstacles they encounter. Data were collected using quantitative methods through questioner given to 37 students participating in the IISMA 2023 program. The results show that students need various types of information, ranging from program details to cultural adaptation in the host country, as they face challenges such as limited access to relevant information sources. This study suggests improving the provision of information and support for exchange program participants to maximize the benefits of their international experiences.

"Konsep Edward Said (1978) tentang Orientalisme telah memainkan peran penting dalam membentuk bagaimana Barat memandang Timur lebih rendah daripada mereka. Hal ini juga memengaruhi beberapa negara Asia untuk menggambarkan diri mereka dengan cara Barat memandang mereka: rekan yang lebih rendah dari Barat. Fenomena ini disebut self-Orientalism, dan terdapat di berbagai media, termasuk iklan pariwisata. Dengan menggunakan kerangka teori Communicative Event Analysis milik Fairclough, penelitian ini mencoba untuk menemukan bukti self-Orientalism di iklan Wonderful Indonesia The More You Feel the More You Know (2018) dan apa yang mendorong Indonesia untuk menerapkan konsep tersebut. Penelitian ini dibagi menjadi empat bagian: kerangka waktu yang bergeser, orang-orang lokal yang ramah tetapi tidak berdaya, posisi Putri Marino yang ambigu, dan menampilkan modernitas. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa Orientalisme sendiri, sebagaimana dibuktikan dalam iklan ini secara dominan diinternalisasi oleh pengaruh Barat daripada keinginan Indonesia untuk mencapai modernitas. Hal ini karena `cultural inferiority complex`, yang meyakini bahwa budaya Barat lebih baik daripada budaya Indonesia, telah berakar dalam masyarakat Indonesia sejak masa kolonial.

The concept of Edward Said`s (1978) Orientalism has played an important role in shaping how the West (Occident) perceives the East (Orient) to be inferior to them. It has also influenced some Asian countries to depict themselves in a way the West views them: an inferior counterpart to the West. This phenomenon is called self-Orientalism, and it is evident in various media, including tourism advertisements. By using Fairclough`s three-dimensional Communicative Event Analysis, this paper tries to find evidence of self-Orientalism in Wonderful Indonesia`s The More You Feel the More You Know (2018) and what prompts Indonesia to apply such concept. This paper is divided into four sections: the shifting time frame, the friendly but helpless local people, the ambiguous position of Putri Marino, and displaying modernity. The results show that self-Orientalism, as evidenced in this advertisement are dominantly internalized by Western influences rather than Indonesia`s striving for modernity. This is because the `cultural inferiority complex`, which believes that Western culture is better than Indonesian culture, has rooted within Indonesian society since the colonial period.

"Although frequently dismissed as mere entertainment, popular music can be utilized as a site for constructing and representing identities. This is exemplified by Indonesian R&B/hip-hop singer Agnez Mo who aspires to, among others, represent Indonesia through her English works. This study explores the Indonesian identity Mo portrays in the lyrics and images of her music video Long As I Get Paid (2017). Carlsson’s (1999) theory on music video textual analysis is utilized in this study. Results are then understood in relation to Orientalism and self-Orientalism. This study finds that Mo constructs the identity of a feminine, strange, exotic, and sexually assertive Eastern woman who willingly sells herself to a Western man for money. Moreover, she is depicted ignoring the criticisms she receives for it. Such portrayal is a reiteration of classic Orientalist stereotypes. Furthermore, Mo being the one to Orientalize herself ultimately makes her actions fall under self-Orientalism. This study’s findings indicate that the concept of self-Orientalism is relevant not only to the realms of advertising and tourism– which are what a large number of previous studies on self-Orientalism focus on – but also popular culture."

"Dalam menghadapi beberapa tren global, sumber daya manusia Indonesia memerlukan penguasaan kompetensi global agar dapat memajukan negaranya. Akan tetapi, berbagai penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa masyarakat muda Indonesia belum memiliki penguasaan kompetensi global yang baik. Sebagai respon terhadap kondisi tersebut, Pemerintah Indonesia, khususnya Kementerian Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset dan Teknologi, meluncurkan kebijakan Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka. Indonesia Internasional Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) sebagai program yang mendukung pengembangan kompetensi global. Penelitian ini menggunakan model gabungan global competence antara Boix-Mansilla dan Jackson (2011) dan PISA Assessment dalam OECD (2018) untuk menganalisis dampak pelaksanaan IISMA di Keio University pada tahun ajaran 2023-2024 dalam mendukung pengembangan kompetensi global awardee. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, partisipasi di dalam program IISMA di Keio University dapat mendukung pengembangan kompetensi global awardee dari segi penambahan wawasan akademis maupun sosial dan mengembangkan kemampuan menavigasi lingkungan yang kaya keberagaman, tetapi kurang dapat mendorong awardee untuk bertindak melakukan perbaikan isu global. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa faktor utama yang mempengaruhi pengembangan kompetensi global adalah interaksi dengan orang lain dalam konteks sosial dan pengalaman mengikuti rangkaian perkuliahan. Selain itu, pengalaman unik dan pribadi dalam keseharian dan pembekalan materi dari IISMA dapat memberikan kesempatan untuk memperkaya wawasan awardee. Diperlukan upaya khusus untuk mengoptimalkan manfaat dari challenge sebagai tuntutan program dari IISMA dan kegiatan organisasi.

In facing several global trends, Indonesian human resources require mastery of global competence to advance the country. However, various studies reveal that young Indonesians still relatively lack good mastery of global competence. In response, the Indonesian government, specifically the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, launched the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka policy. The Indonesia International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) is a programs under this policy, which is indicated to support the development of global competence. This research uses a combined model of global competence from Boix-Mansilla and Jackson (2011) and the PISA Assessment in OECD (2018) to analyse the implementation of IISMA at Keio University in the 2023-2024 academic year in supporting the development of awardees' global competence. Based on the analysis, participation in the IISMA program at Keio University supports the development of awardees' global competence in terms of enhancing academic and social insights and developing the ability to navigate culturally diverse environments. However, it is less effective in encouraging awardees to take action on global issues. The analysis shows that the main factors influencing the development of global competence are interaction with others in social contexts and the experience of participating in collegiate academic activities. Additionally, unique and personal daily experiences and upskilling initiatives from IISMA can provide opportunities for knowledge enhancement but do not have as high a frequency as the two factors mentioned above. There needs to be certain efforts to optimize the benefits of the program's challenges and organizational activities."

"Penelitian ini mengalisis collaborative governance pada integrasi moda transportasi angkot dalam pelaksanaan Program Jak Lingko Di Provinsi DKI Jakarta dalam rangka mewujudkan smart mobility. Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan post positivist untuk menganalisa proses collaborative governance yang terjadi pada integrasi moda transportasi dalam sistem BRT Transjakarja sebagai bagian dari pelaksanaan program Jak Lingko. Proses collaborative governance yang terjadi dianalisis dengan lima dimensi model collaborative governnace yang terdiri atas dimensi konteks sistem umum, dimensi pendorong, dimensi dinamika kolaborasi, dimensi aksi kolaboratif dan dimensi dampak kolaborasi. Model Collaborative Governance ini dikembangkan dengan memasukkan parameter smart mobility pada dimensi dampak kolaborasi.

This study aim to investigate collaborative governance in the integration of angkot as one of transportation modes within the implementation the Jak Lingko Program in order to realize smart mobility in DKI Jakarta. This study uses a post positivist approach to analyze the collaborative governance process that occurs in the integration of mini bus "angkot" as one of transportation modes into the Transjakarja's BRT system as an integral part of the implementation of the Jak Lingko program. The collaborative governance process that took place was analyzed with five dimensions of the collaborative governance model consisting of the dimension of the general system context, the driving dimension, the dimensions of collaboration dynamics, the dimensions of collaborative action and the dimensions of the impact of collaboration. This Collaborative Governance model was developed by incorporating smart mobility parameters into the dimensions of collaboration impact."

"Salah satu program Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) tersebut yakni program pertukaran pelajar bernama program Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) tahun 2021. Tiga perguruan tinggi negeri yang paling banyak mengirimkan mahasiswanya ke negara tujuan pada program IISMA 2021 yakni UGM, UI, dan ITB. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui faktor apa saja yang mempengaruhi pemilihan negara oleh mahasiswa UGM, UI, dan ITB pada program IISMA tahun 2021 dan untuk mengetahui pola pemilihan negara oleh mahasiswa UGM, UI, dan ITB ITB pada program IISMA tahun 2021. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan wawancara mendalam dan menggunakan analisis spasial deskriptif dan triangulasi sumber data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Mahasiswa UGM memilih negara Asia dikarenakan adanya persamaan budaya, aspek wisata yang berbeda, faktor pendidikan, faktor lingkungan, serta faktor budaya. Mahasiswa UI cenderung memilih negara Eropa dikarenakan adanya perbedaan budaya, aspek wisata yang berbeda, faktor pendidikan, faktor lingkungan, serta faktor budaya. Mahasiswa ITB cenderung memilih negara Asia, Eropa, dan Amerika dikarenakan adanya aspek wisata yang berbeda, faktor pendidikan, faktor lingkungan, serta faktor budaya. Kesimpulannya bahwa terdapat faktor penarik dan pendorong oleh mahasiswa UGM, UI, dan ITB serta pola pemilihan yang terbentuk yakni mahasiswa UGM cenderung memilih negara Asia, mahasiswa UI cenderung memilih Eropa, dan mahasiswa ITB cenderung memilih Asia, Eropa, dan Amerika.

One of the Free Learning-Merdeka Campus (MBKM) programs is a student exchange program called the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) program in 2021. The three state universities that send the most students to destination countries in the 2021 IISMA program are UGM, UI, and ITB. The purpose of this research is to find out what factors influence the choice of country by UGM, UI, and ITB students in the 2021 IISMA program and to find out the pattern of country selection by UGM, UI, and ITB ITB students in the 2021 IISMA program. used is qualitative with in-depth interviews and using descriptive spatial analysis and triangulation of data sources. The results showed that UGM students chose Asian countries due to cultural similarities, different tourism aspects, educational factors, environmental factors, and cultural factors. UI students tend to choose European countries due to cultural differences, different aspects of tourism, educational factors, environmental factors, and cultural factors. ITB students tend to choose Asian, European, and American countries due to different tourism aspects, educational factors, environmental factors, and cultural factors. . The conclusion is that there are pull and push factors by UGM, UI, and ITB students as well as the election pattern that is formed, namely UGM students tend to choose Asian countries, UI students tend to choose Europe, and ITB students tend to choose Asia, Europe, and America."

"Konvensi New York 1958 mengharuskan setiap negara peserta untuk mengakui dan melaksanakan putusan arbitrase internasional. Akan tetapi, Konvensi New York 1958 juga memungkinkan pengecualian atas pelaksanaan putusan arbitrase internasional, salah satunya ketertiban umum. Pada hakikatnya, hukum perdata internasional menentukan hukum perdata negara mana yang akan diberlakukan bilamana terdapat unsur asing di dalamnya. Tetapi, keberlakuan hukum asing tersebut dapat dikesampingkannya apabila membawa hasil yang tidak memuaskan para pencari keadilan. Ketertiban umum sendiri tidak memiliki definisi yang ajek, seragam, dan berlaku universal sehingga penentuanya berada di tangan hakim.  Di Indonesia, pihak-pihak yang bersengketa menggunakan berbagai macam dalil ketertiban umum sebagai alasan untuk menolak pelaksanaan putusan arbitrase, khususnya putusan arbitrase internasional. Skripsi ini akan meneliti putusan-putusan pengadilan Indonesia mengenai putusan arbitrase internasional dengan dalil ketertiban umum dalam sepuluh tahun terakhir dengan melihat pertimbangan hakim dan teori-teori ketertiban umum dalam hukum perdata internasional.

The New York Convention 1958 requires each contracting state to recognize and enforce foreign arbitral awards. However, the 1958 New York Convention also allows exceptions to recognize and enforce foreign arbitral awards, one of them is public order. In essence, private international law determines which private state law will be applied if there is a foreign element in it. However, the application of these foreign laws can be excluded if they bring results that do not satisfy the justice seekers. Public order itself does not have a definite, uniform, and universally definition so that it determines by the judge. In Indonesia, the parties to the dispute use various kinds of public order as a reason to refuse the enforcement of the arbitral award, especially the international arbitral award. This thesis will examine the Indonesian court decisions regarding international arbitral awards with the argument of public order in the last ten years by looking at judges' considerations and public order theories in private international law."
