"Classical methods in analytic theory such as Mertens’ theorem and Chebyshev’s inequalities and the celebrated Prime number theorem give estimates for the distribution of prime numbers. Later on, multiplicative structure of integers leads to multiplicative arithmetical functions for which there are many important examples in number theory. Their theory involves the Dirichlet convolution product which arises with the inclusion of several summation techniques and a survey of classical results such as Hall and Tenenbaum’s theorem and the Möbius Inversion Formula. Another topic is the counting integer points close to smooth curves and its relation to the distribution of squarefree numbers, which is rarely covered in existing texts. Final chapters focus on exponential sums and algebraic number fields. A number of exercises at varying levels are also included."

"This monograph treats one case of a series of conjectures by S. Kudla, whose goal is to show that Fourier of Eisenstein series encode information about the Arakelov intersection theory of special cycles on Shimura varieties of orthogonal and unitary type. Here, the Eisenstein series is a Hilbert modular form of weight one over a real quadratic field, the Shimura variety is a classical Hilbert modular surface, and the special cycles are complex multiplication points and the Hirzebruch-Zagier divisors. By developing new techniques in deformation theory, the authors successfully compute the Arakelov intersection multiplicities of these divisors, and show that they agree with the Fourier coefficients of derivatives of Eisenstein series."

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental yang bertujuan untuk melihat efektivitas penggunaan media pembelajaran terhadap kemampuan number sense anak usia 3 hingga 5 tahun. Seluruh partisipan terbagi ke dalam tiga kelompok: 1 belajar menggunakan media pembelajaran audiovisual; 2 belajar menggunakan media pembelajaran visual; dan 3 tidak belajar menggunakan media pembelajaran. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 48 anak. Kemampuan number sense anak diukur menggunakan Number Knowledge Test sebelum dan sesudah penelitian berlangsung. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah skor rata-rata number sense yang diperoleh pada tiga kelompok penelitian berbeda secara signifikan, F 2, 45 = 13.232, p < .05, ?2 = 0.37. Dari penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa media pembelajaran, terutama media pembelajaran audiovisual efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan number sense anak.
ABSTRACTThis experimental research has aimed to examine the effectivity of instructional media usage towards number sense ability for children aged 3 to 5 years old. All participant dividid into three groups 1 learning with audiovisual instructional media 2 learning with visual instructional media 3 learning without instructional media. Children rsquo s number sense ability was measured using Number Knowledge Test before and after experiment. The result showed that the mean from three groups signifficantly different, F 2, 45 13.232, p .05, 2 0.37. From this research we can conclude that instructional media, especially audiovisual instructional media can increase children rsquo s number sense effectively. "
