In the media, Asian American men have been portrayed with many different stereotypes. They are usually depicted as short, not attractive, and submissive. However, in this era, there are some changes in the portrayal of Asian Americans. Examining two television series, titled Two Broke Girls 2011 and Young Hungry 2014 , this paper spotlights the differences in the depiction of Asian American men. Using Stuart Hall rsquo;s 2013 theory of representation and also Raewyn Connell rsquo;s 1995 theory of masculinities, this paper will focus on analysing the differences of each character through their physical appearances, their knowledge about American culture, their interaction with other characters, and how they are being emasculated. By analysing all these aspects, this writing highlight how Asian American male characters from each television series portray the stereotype. The result shows that the two characters, Han Lee and Elliot Park, are being emasculated, but in a different way. Elliot Park, from Young Hungry, is being emasculated by being a gay. Whereas, Han Lee, from Two Broke Girls is being emasculated because he tries so hard to blend in and to be accepted by the other characters. "

ABSTRACT
Representations of the Asian American community in the media have always been met with controversies with many of them labeled as stereotypical and one dimensional. Fresh Off the Boat 2015 ndash now and 2 Broke Girls 2011 ndash 2017 are two recent American television series that are said to have emasculated their Asian American male characters. This research analyzes how the characters Louis Huang and Han Lee are emasculated, before examining how they actually construct their own concept of masculinity by negotiating between Connell rsquo s concept of hegemonic masculinity and how Asians perceive masculinity. Ultimately, this research aims to debunk assumptions that these series emasculate their characters by proving that it is possible for multiple concepts of masculinity to co exist with one another without one being less masculine than the other."

Using the “American dream” concept, this thesis aims to seeunderlying racism in this sitcom. Analysis on selected episodes was done to examine the participation, characteristics, and relationship between the ethnic minority and the WASP characters, which show inequality and racial stereotyping. The textual analysis is contextualized through the discernment of the prevalence of stereotyping and racism in American society, especially in television and sitcoms.

ABSTRACT
This thesis discusses the correlation between power relation and violence against homosexuals in school. The study of the strategies of representation is used as the analysis method in analyzing the TV series scenes and dialogues based on the theory of Foucault’s concept of discourse and sexuality, and Connell’s concept of gender. Homosexuals have always been oppressed and stigmatized, and the form of violence that is allegedly faced by homosexuals is sexual orientation based violence. The results of this research prove that not only do homosexuals suffer sexual orientation based violence, but also violence due to the homosexual character that is considered outside of the normal manner, particularly male homosexual (gay) with feminine character. These conditions explain that homosexuals remain oppressed, but still manage to build positive image."

Sari Serat Alami Merek X versi Herbal. Berbagai macam konstruksi sosial
kinesika, hingga gerak kamera.
produk suplemen makanan layaknya iklan rokok.

Roland Barthes's ideas can be lifted on a theoretical level, and combined with
other ideas about color, nonverbal, kinesics, up to the camera motion. Also using
data analysis techniques and combine them with a framework of thought,
suggesting that the blurring of boundaries.

"Afghan-American Nadia Hashimi's literary debut novel is a searing tale of powerlessness, fate, and the freedom to control one's own fate that combines the cultural flavor and emotional resonance of the works of Khaled Hosseini, Jhumpa Lahiri, and Lisa See.In Kabul, 2007, with a drug-addicted father and no brothers, Rahima and her sisters can only sporadically attend school, and can rarely leave the house. Their only hope lies in the ancient custom of bacha posh, which allows young Rahima to dress and be treated as a boy until she is of marriageable age. As a son, she can attend school, go to the market, and chaperone her older sisters. But Rahima is not the first in her family to adopt this unusual custom. A century earlier, her great-aunt, Shekiba, left orphaned by an epidemic, saved herself and built a new life the same way.Crisscrossing in time, The Pearl the Broke Its Shell interweaves the tales of these two women separated by a century who share similar destinies. But what will happen once Rahima is of marriageable age? Will Shekiba always live as a man? And if Rahima cannot adapt to life as a bride, how will she survive?"
