"ABSTRAKSkripsi ini menganalisis perubahan karakter tokoh utama anak yaitu Theeb Al-Howeitat dalam film Theeb. Tujuannya adalah untuk memaparkan dan menjelaskan berbagai perubahan karakter Theeb beserta penyebabnya. Metodologi yang digunakan pada penelitian ini berupa metodologi kepustakaan, metode strukturalis digunakan untuk menganalisis unsur intrinsik, metode deskriptif analitis digunakan untuk menganalisis perubahan karakter tokoh Theeb. Dari hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan tokoh Theeb mengalami perubahan karena mengalami perasaan dukacita yang mendalam, kemudian ia pun berubah menjadi karakter yang lain demi mendapatkan kebahagiaan.

ABSTRACTThis thesis analyzes the changing character of the main character, Theeb Al Howeitat, in Theeb movie. The purpose of this thesis is to explain and describe any changes of Theeb rsquo s character and also the factors. Structuralist method is used to analyzing the intrinsic elements in this movie, descriptive analytic method is used to analyzing the changes of Theeb rsquo s character. The result of this thesis can be concluded that Theeb had changed because he had deep grief feeling, and then he change to another character to get a happier life."

"Darbareye Elly merupakan sebuah film thriller psikologis dari Iran yang disutradarai oleh Asghar Farhadi dan diproduksi pada tahun 2009. Bercerita tentang sekelompok teman yang sedang pergi ke pinggir kota, Pantai Kaspia, untuk berlibur. Seiring berjalannya cerita, terungkap kebohongan-kebohongan dari para tokoh untuk mewujudkan keinginannya masing-masing. Motivasi dari para tokoh membuat perubahan karakter yang digambarkan berbeda-beda. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Teori yang digunakan adalah teori psikologi sastra mengacu pada Sigmund Freud. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memaparkan karakter tokoh utama sesuai dengan teori psikologi sastra oleh Sigmund Freud. Hasil dari penelitian ini didapatkan bahwa kepribadian tokoh utama, yaitu Elly, Sepideh, dan Ahmad memiliki karakter id yang paling mendominasi dibandingkan dengan ego dan superego, serta tokoh yang paling menunjukkan perubahan karakternya adalah Sepideh, lalu Elly, dan yang tidak terlalu menunjukkan perubahan karakternya adalah Ahmad.

Darbareye Elly is an Iranian psychological thriller film directed by Asghar Farhadi and produced in 2009. It tells the story of a group of friends who go to the edge of the city, the Caspian Coast, for a vacation. As the story progresses, lies are revealed from the characters to realize their respective desires. The motivations of the characters make changes to the characters portrayed differently. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method. The theory used is the theory of literary psychology referring to Sigmund Freud. The purpose of this research is to describe the main character in accordance with the theory of literary psychology by Sigmund Freud. The results of this study found that the personalities of the main characters, namely Elly, Sepideh, and Ahmad have id characters that dominate the most compared to ego and superego, and the character who shows the most character change is Sepideh, then Elly, and the one who doesn't show too much character change is Ahmad."

"Kebutuhan akan hiburan semakin meningkat seiring berjalannya waktu. Salah satu media hiburan adalah film. Melalui film, disajikan berbagai realitas yang ada di masyarakat, salah satunya adalah eksistensi komunitas LGBT. Topik tersebut direpresentasikan dalam film Anne+ (2021) karya Valerie Bisscheroux yang berdurasi 1 jam 35 menit. Film ini menceritakan tentang perjalanan hidup Anne dalam proses penemuan jati dirinya sebagai seorang lesbian di Belanda. Proses tersebut mencakup masalah-masalah yang Anne hadapi seperti masalah asmara, karier, pertemanan, dan pengembangan diri. Serangkaian rintangan dan situasi tersebut mempengaruhi perubahan dalam unsur kepribadian Anne. Masalah penelitian ini adalah bagaimana dinamika kepribadian tokoh utama dalam film Anne+ (2021) karya Valerie Bisscheroux. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan dinamika kepribadian tokoh Anne. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori psikoanalisis dari Sigmund Freud mengenai id, ego, dan superego. Teori psikoanalisis didukung oleh pendapat William McDougall tentang naluri dasar manusia. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perubahan unsur kepribadian pada tokoh Anne, yaitu dari id menjadi ego, id ke ego lalu menjadi superego, dan id ke superego lalu menjadi ego. Penelitian ini memberikan pemahaman yang lebih dalam tentang perubahan kepribadian tokoh utama dalam film Anne+ (2021).

The need for entertainment is increasing over time. One of the entertainment media is a movie. Through movies, various realities in society are presented, one of which is the existence of the LGBT community. The topic is represented in the movie Anne+ (2021) by Valerie Bisscheroux, which lasts 1 hour and 35 minutes. The movie tells the story of Anne's life journey in the process of discovering her identity as a lesbian in the Netherlands. The process includes issues that Anne faces, such as romance, career, friendship, and self-development. A series of obstacles and situations affect changes in Anne's personality elements. The problem of this research is how are the personality dynamics of the main character in the movie Anne+ (2021) by Valerie Bisscheroux. The purpose of this research is to describe the personality dynamics of Anne's character. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. The theory used in this research is Sigmund Freud's psychoanalysis theory of id, ego, and superego. Psychoanalysis theory is supported by William McDougall's opinion on basic human instincts. The results of this study show that there are changes in the elements of personality in the character Anne, namely from id to ego, id to ego then to superego, and id to superego then to ego. This research provides a deeper understanding of the personality changes of the main character in the movie Anne+ (2021)."

"ABSTRAKDalam budaya patriarki, posisi wanita sering diremehkan. Bahkan, mereka sulit mengungkapkan apa yang mereka inginkan dan rasakan. Pernyataan bahwa kaum wanita adalah kaum kelas dua tersebut membuat mereka dapat dikategorikan sebagai kaum yang terbungkam. Mereka tak dapat mengutarakan apa yang diri (subjek) mereka inginkan. Sering kali, cara seorang wanita untuk keluar dari keterbungkamannya adalah dengan meranjak ke ranah publik. Para wanita berharap mereka dapat meraih eksistensialisme diri seperti diraih oleh para laki-laki di ranah publik. Berkecipung di ranah domestik membuat keberadaan mereka semakin termarjinalkan dan tak jarang hanya menjadi objek dari keluarga, seperti suami atau anak mereka. Hal-hal domestik tersebut telah menyita waktu dan perhatian mereka untuk mengembangkan diri. Oleh karena itu, melalui penelitian ini, peneliti menyelidiki apakah ranah publik memang ranah yang menjanjikan eksistensialisme diri seorang wanita. Nyatanya, tidak begitu. Dalam Film Sang Penari, karakter Srintil yang memilih untuk berkecimpung ranah publik, justru tidak mendapatkan eksistensialismenya sebagai subjek. Meski semua warga desa mengelu-elukan posisinya sebagai ronggeng, Srintil merasa tidak bahagia. Melalui metode analisis semiotika (dengan analisis leksia dan paradigmatik), peneliti mencoba mengkaji setiap leksia yang terdapat dalam film Sang Penari agar subjektivisme semu yang dialami Srintil terkuak.

ABSTRACTWithin the patriarchal society, women's roles are often viewed condescendingly. Not only that, they even find it hard to express their desires or feelings. Statements that categorize women as minority and second class may very well categorize them as the repressed ones. They are unable to express their desires and wants. Often times, a woman's only means to express herself is by bringing her words to the public domain. Women are hopeful that they will be achieved existentialism just like their male counterparts in public domains. Being largely active only in domestic settings, women are thus even more marginalized and often become mere objects of their family, such as their husbands or children. Domestic matters take up much of their time and attention that they are left with almost no time for self developments. Therefore, through this research, the researchers investigated whether the public domain is truly a domain fit to develop women's existentialism. In reality, it is not so. In the movie "Sang Penari" (The Dancer), the character of Srintil who chose to participate in the public domains did not end up with existentialism as a subject. Even though Srintil attained adulation, she did not find happiness. Through semiotic analysis (with lexical and paradigmatic analysis), researchers attempted to analyzed every Lexica found in the movie "Sang Penari" so that the apparent existentialism experienced by Srintil would be revealed."

"Penelitian ini menganalisis karakter tokoh utama pada novel berbahasa Jawa yaitu novel Mitra Sejati karya Tulus Setiyadi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan memaparkan karakter tokoh utama yang terdapat dalam Novel Mitra Sejati karya Tulus Setiyadi. Dalam menuliskan cerita pada novel ini, pengarang tidak begitu saja menyajikan karakter yang dimiliki para tokoh, namun pengarang menyajikannya melalui percakapan, tingkah laku tokoh, proses berfikir, serta reaksi yang diberikan oleh setiap tokoh dalam cerita. Peneliti perlu melakukan pengkajian yang lebih mendalam untuk memahami dan mengetahui karakter yang ada pada tokoh utama. Penelitian ini perlu dilakukan karena peneliti melihat suatu ide gagasan yang ingin disampaikan oleh pengarang novel melalui karakter tokoh yang ditampilkan dalam cerita novel Mitra Sejati. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif analisis, dengan pendekatan intrinsik serta fokus penelitian pada tokoh/penokohan. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori pelukisan tokoh dengan delapan teknik dramatik oleh Burhan Nurgiyantoro. Delapan teknik tersebut adalah: teknik cakapan, teknik tingkah laku, teknik pikiran dan perasaan, teknik arus kesadaran, teknik reaksi tokoh, teknik reaksi tokoh lain, teknik pelukisan latar, dan teknik pelukisan fisik. Dengan teori yang digunakan, peneliti menemukan karakter tokoh utama pada novel ini, antara lain: rajin, disiplin, optimis, rasa ingin tahu, peduli, bertanggung jawab, mandiri, sabar, teguh dengan pendirian, dan solidaritas yang tinggi.

This research analyzes the main character of the novel in Javanese language, named the novel Mitra Sejati by Tulus Setiyadi. This research aims to describe the characteristic of the main character in Novel Mitra Sejati by Tulus Setiyadi. In writing a story in this novel, the author does not just present the characteristic of the characters, but the author presents them through conversation, character behavior, thought processes, and reactions given by each character in the story. Researcher needs to do deeper review to understand the characteristic of the main character. This research needs to be done because the researcher sees an idea that the novel author wants to convey through the characters that are featured in the novel Mitra Sejati. This research uses a descriptive analysis method, with an intrinsic approach and a research focus on the characters/characterizations. This research uses character portrayal theory with eight dramatic techniques by Burhan Nurgiyantoro. The eight techniques are: conversational techniques, behavior techniques, mind and feeling techniques, awareness process techniques, character reaction techniques, other character reaction techniques, background visualize techniques, and physical depiction techniques. With the theory used, the researcher found the main characters in this novel, that are: diligent, disciplined, optimistic, curious, caring, responsible, independent, patient, persistent with a stand, and high solidarity"

"[Manga sebagai salah satu produk kebudayaan populer Jepang tidak hanya bertujuan sebagai media hiburan tetapi juga dapat digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran. Penelitian ini mengkaji mengenai gambaran watak tokoh utama yang dianalisis melalui penokohannya. Tujuannya adalah untuk mengungkapkan perubahan-perubahan watak yang dialami oleh tokoh utamanya, Shouya. "Kebebasan eksistensial merupakan suatu teori yang mendukung ide bahwa eksistensi mendahului esensi pada diri manusia. Penelitian ini membahas struktur naratif dan sinematografis yang menjadi bagian dari pembangun film Le Roi de Cœur (1966). Aspek dari struktur naratif dan sinematografis yang dipaparkan meliputi alur dan karakterisasi tokoh hingga teknik pengambilan gambar dalam film dan audio yang dimainkan. Kebebasan eksistensial yang ditemukan dalam tokoh Charles Plumpick dalam membuat keputusan dan bertindak dianalisis secara tematis menggunakan teori Jean-Paul Sartre. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk membuktikan adanya eksistensi dan esensi dalam tokoh Plumpick yang membentuk kebebasan eksistensialnya serta membedah proses penemuan kesadaran dalam dirinya untuk memperjuangkan kebebasan ini. Hasil temuan penelitian ini berupa unsur ‘eksistensi’,‘esensi’, serta pergeserannya pada tokoh utama yang didasari oleh konsep “L'existence précède l'essence” dalam teori eksistensialisme Sartre. Pergeseran esensi ini menunjukkan keberhasilan Plumpick dalam memenuhi kebebasan eksistensialnya sebagai manusia. Ia menggunakan kebebasan itu untuk menentukan bagaimana ia menjalankan hidupnya.

Existential freedom is a theory that proposes the idea that existence precedes essence in humans. This study discusses the narrative and cinematographic structure in Le Roi de Cœur (1966). Aspects of the narrative and cinematographic structure covers the plot and characterization to shooting techniques and the audio used in the film. The existential freedom found in the main character, Charles Plumpick, in making decisions and behaving is explained thematically using Jean-Paul Sartre's theory. This study uses qualitative research methods to collect and analyze data from the film. The purpose of this study is to prove the existence and essence in the main character which forms his existential freedom and to further investigate the process of finding awareness within himself to fight for this freedom. This study found the elements of 'existence' and 'essence', as well as shifts of these elements within the main character, based on the concept of "L'existence précède l'essence" in Sartre's theory of existentialism. This shift in essence shows Plumpick's success in fulfilling his existential freedom as a human. Plumpick uses this freedom to decide how he lives his life."

"Film Mijn Beste Vriendin Anne Frank menjadi salah satu media untuk mengamati bagaimana bahasa digunakan dalam situasi yang penuh tekanan dan konflik sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif yang memaparkan bagaimana Hannah Goslar, tokoh utama dalam film ini, menyampaikan ilokusi direktif, seperti perintah, instruksi, dan saran dengan mempertimbangkan perbedaan usia, status sosial, dan jarak sosial dengan lawan bicaranya. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tuturan ilokusi direktif berbahasa Belanda dalam film Mijn Beste Vriendin Anne Frank. Berdasarkan analisis dalam penelitian ini, ditemukan 41 tuturan ilokusi direktif oleh Hannah Goslar, yang mencakup jenis tindak tutur meminta, memerintah, menantang, berargumentasi, memprovokasi, dan menyarankan. Dalam penelitian ini, strategi kesantunan yang paling banyak ditemukan adalah bald on record, sedangkan strategi yang tidak ditemukan sama sekali adalah off-record. Dalam situasi yang tegang dan penuh tekanan, Hannah menyampaikan perintah, instruksi, atau saran dengan strategi kesantunan yang langsung, tegas, dan tidak ambigu.

Film Mijn Beste Vriendin Anne Frank serves as a compelling medium for understanding how language is used in situations fraught with pressure and social conflict. This research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, exploring how Hannah Goslar, the main character in this film, conveys directive illocutionary acts, such as commands, instructions, and advice, while considering differences of ages, social statuses, and social distances of her interlocutors. Based on the analysis in this research, 41 directive illocutionary acts by Hannah Goslar were identified, including speech acts such as requesting, commanding, challenging, arguing, provoking, and suggesting. In this research, the most frequently used politeness strategy is bald on record, while the off-record strategy is not found at all. In certain citations, Hannah conveys commands, instructions, or advice with a politeness strategy that is open, direct, and unambiguous."

Film dibedah menggunakan teori film Boggs dan Petrie untuk membedah aspek naratif dan sinematografis, kajian gender Judith Butler, dan kajian queer Brett Beemyn dan Eliason untuk membedah ideologi teks. Ketertarikan terhadap laki-laki menjadi hasil dari peran pengalaman traumatis Juno d alam mengonst ruksi id ent it as gend ernya, sed angkan peran sosial menghasilkan konstruksi identitas gender Juno yang mengarah pada adanya sifat-sifat feminin di dalam tubuh Juno yang secara alami maskulin. Dilihat dari posisi film, identitas gender Juno adalah non-biner yang perlu dihargai dan boleh hadir di tengah-tengah masyarakat. Terdapat adanya kritik film terhadap kepura-puraan masyarakat identitas non-biner yang menjalani kehidupan sesuai norma heteroseksualitas.

Men and women are binary systems on normative gender that are present in society. However, other variations of gender identity are also present in society, including transgender, agender, genderqueer, androgynous, or a combination of those identities. There are also variations of sexual identity, such as heterosexual, homosexual, and asexual. Variations in gender identity and sexual identity can be influenced by social roles and traumatic experiences of the individual which depicted in the Indonesian film Kucumbu Tubuh Indahku (2018). The research focuses on the construction of the main character's gender identity. The film is analyzed using Boggs and Petrie’s film theory to dissect the narrative and cinematographic aspects of the film, Judith Butler’s gender studies, and queer studies from Brett Beemyn and Eliason to dissect the ideology of the text. The attraction to men is the result of Juno's traumatic experience in constructing his gender identity, while social roles result in Juno's gender identity construction which leads to the presence of feminine traits in Juno's naturally masculine body. Judging from the film's position, Juno's gender identity is placed as a non-binary that needs to be respected and allowed to be present in society. There is also film criticism against the pretense of society with its non-binary identity who lives a life according to the norms of heterosexuality."

"Film Bankier van Het Verzet menjadi salah satu film yang mengangkat kisah nyata perjuangan rakyat Belanda dalam melawan pendudukan Nazi, khususnya Walraven van Hall yang merupakan tokoh utama dalam film dengan ambisinya membela rakyat Belanda. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan permasalahan penelitian yaitu bagaimana tindak tutur digunakan oleh tokoh utama film Bankier van Het Verzet tahun 2018. Teori yang digunakan dalam menyusun penelitian ini yaitu tindak tutur dari Searle (1969). Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini diambil dari dialog tokoh utama yang memiliki dua peran berbeda dalam film dengan judul Bankier van Het Verzet. Film ini diperoleh dari layanan over the top (OTT), Netflix. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menunjukkan adanya perbedaan penggunaan secara umum tindak tutur serta tujuan tindak tutur yang digunakan tokoh utama. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perbedaan tindak tutur yang digunakan tokoh utama sesuai dengan mitra tutur dan konteks yang ada saat tuturan terjadi.

Bankier van Het Verzet is one of the films that tells the true story of the struggle of the Dutch people against the Nazi occupation, focused on Walraven van Hall who is the main character in the film with his ambition to defend the Dutch people. The method of this research is qualitative research method, with the aim of knowing the speech acts of the main character of the 2018’s movie Bankier van Her Verzet. The theory that used to compile this research is the speech of acts by Searle (1969). The data that used in this research was taken from the main character of Bankier van Het Verzet movie that has two different characters. This movie was obtained from Netflix's over the top (OTT) service. The purpose of this research is to show the differences in the general use of speech acts and the purpose of speech acts used by the main character. The results of this research show the differences of the speech acts that used by the main character according to the speech partners and the context that existed when the speech occurred."
