"ABSTRAK
Industri asuransi adalah salah satu bidang industri jasa yang ada di Indonesia. Dalam
memasarkan produk asuransinya ke konsumen, perusahaan asuransi menggunakan agen
sebagai perpanjangan tangan dari mereka. Untuk mencapai tujunnya, maka kinerja dari agen
yang baik adalah salah satu hal yang harus diperhatikan. Faktor yang menentukan dalam hal
ini adalah faktor kepuasan kerja agen yang mereka peroleh. Tulisan ini selanjutnya ingin
membahas bagaimana faktor kepuasan kerja ini dapat dipenuhi oleh perusahaan asuransi
kepada agennya, yang sebenarnya pemangku kepentingan eksternal, melalui penerapan
employee relations yang sesuai, yang diimplementasikan ke dalam bentuk program dan
kegiatan melalui pendekatan hubungan manusia dan hirarki kebutuhan. Penggunaan kedua
pendekatan ini akan dapat memenuhi kebutuhan para agen akan kepuasan kerja yang mereka
harapkan dan selanjutnya akan berdampak pada peningkatan kinerja dan produktivitas
mereka.

ABSTRACT
The insurance industry is one of the fields of industrial services in Indonesia. When
marketing the insutance company product to the consumer, insurance companies use agents
as an extension of their hands. To reach their goals, then the good performance of agents is
one of the things the company have to look for. The decisive factor in this regard is agents
job satisfaction factors they earn. This paper further to discuss how this job satisfaction
factors can be met by an insurance company to agents, as external stakeholder, through
implementation of employee relations, implemented into programs and activities through the
approach of human relationships and the hierarchy of needs. By using two of this approach
then the company will be able to meet the needs of agents about the job satisfaction they
expect that will have an impact on their productivity and performance improvements."

"This study aims to investigate the moderating effects of commute time, availability of nearby replacement jobs, and family embeddedness to the relationship between employee embeddedness and turnover intentions. Employee embeddedness includes organizational and community embeddedness. Previous studies showed that employee embeddedness is a good predictor of turnover. However, other studies have subsequently demonstrated different results in employee embeddedness-turnover relationship. The present study hypothesizes that commute time, availability of nearby replacement jobs, and family embeddedness moderate the relationship between employee embeddednessturnover intentions. Data were obtained from a sample of 330 full-time employed nurses in two hospitals in Jakarta, Indonesia. Results showed that commute time and family embeddedness moderated the organizational embeddednessturnover intention relationship. Availability of nearby replacement jobs did not moderate employee embeddednessturnover intentions. Theoretical and practical implications of the findings are discussed.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali efek moderasi waktu tempuh antara rumah dan tempat kerja, ketersediaan alternatif pekerjaan lain, dan family embeddedness pada hubungan antara employee embeddedness karyawan dengan turnover intentions (intensi meninggalkan organisasi). Employee embeddedness terdiri dari organizational embeddedness dan community embeddedness. Penelitian terdahulu menunjukkan employee embeddedness merupakan prediktor variabel turnover yang baik. Akan tetapi, studi selanjutnya mengenai hubungan employee embeddednessturnover menunjukkan hasil yang bervariasi. Hipotesis penelitian ini adalah waktu tempuh antara rumah dan tempat kerja, ketersediaan alternatif pekerjaan lain, dan family embeddedness adalah moderator yang signifikan pada hubungan antara employee embeddedness dan intensi meninggalkan organisasi. Sampel penelitian adalah 330 perawat di dua rumah sakit di Jakarta, Indonesia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa waktu tempuh antara rumah dan tempat kerja dan family embeddedness memoderasi hubungan antara organizational embeddedness dan intensi meninggalkan organisasi. Akan tetapi, ketersediaan alternatif pekerjaan lain tidak terbukti sebagai moderator employee embeddedness dan intensi meninggalkan organisasi. Selanjutnya akan dibahas implikasi teori dan praktis dari hasil studi."

"Setelah berakhirnya rezim orde baru membuat sistem pemerintahan bergeser menuju arah New Public Management (NPM). Seiring dengan implementasi NPM, pemerintah harus merancang dan mengelola organisasi termasuk ASN sebagai pelaku reformasi birokrasi. Oleh karena itu pemerintah memberlakukan regulasi dan kebijakan tentang pengembangan kompetensi ASN untuk mendorong pegawai yang unggul dalam rangka mencapai tujuan organisasi. Namun seringkali tujuan organisasi berbeda dengan kepentingan pegawai. Sehingga penting untuk mendengarkan suara-suara pegawai dalam memaknai pengembangan kompetensi. Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi perspektif pegawai dalam menerima pengembangan kompetensi dan bagaimana peran pemimpin dalam praktiknya. Dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif dan mewawancarai 13 pegawai sektor publik yang diawali dengan survei eksplanatori dalam pemilihan informan. Temuan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan seringkali pengembangan kompetensi dikaitkan dengan pemenuhan kesejahteraan secara finansial. Selain itu makna lain yang menggambarkan pengembangan kompetensi masih terpinggirkan oleh prioritas lainnya. Implikasi praktisnya adalah pemerintah masih perlu mengkaji ulang kebijakan pengembangan kompetensi sehingga dalam praktiknya dapat dijalankan sesuai dengan fungsinya.

After the end of the New Order regime, the government system shifted towards New Public Management (NPM). Along with implementing NPM, the government must design and manage organizations including ASN as agents of bureaucratic reform. Therefore, the government enforces regulations and policies regarding the development of ASN competencies to encourage superior employees in order to achieve organizational goals. However, organizational goals often differ from employee interests. So it is important to listen to employee voices in interpreting competency development. This research explores employee perspectives in receiving competency development and the role of leaders in practice. Using qualitative methods and interviewing 13 public sector employees starting with an explanatory survey in selecting informants. The findings from this research show that competency development is often associated with achieving financial well-being. Apart from that, other meanings that describe competency development are still marginalized by other priorities. The practical implication is that the government still needs to review its competency development policy so that in practice it can be carried out in accordance with its function."

"ABSTRACT
Global union federations (GUFs) and multinational enterprises (MNEs) have been concluding international framework agreements (IFAs) to protect their interests amidst the globalizing economic landscape. By modelling the underlying bargaining processes, the authors show that IFAs can be expected when both sides exhibit risk aversion, although the agreement will favour the less riskaverse side. Since globalization has created fewer vulnerabilities for MNEs than for G UFs, IFAs have so far typically delivered only minimal benefits for labour. But this should change in the future if strengthened transnational union capacities and abilities to threaten MNEs with reputational costs bring greater equalization of attitudes towards risk."
