"Film animasi Disney pertama, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937) adalah pelopor film animasi Disney yang mengandung gender bias, dimana sang pangeran dan putri sebagai subyek gender bias . Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan penggambaran gender para kurcaci dalam film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937) ditinjau melalui empat dimensi - sifat, perilaku, karakteristik fisik, dan pekerjaan dengan menggunakan metode content analysis. Dugaan sementara, penggambaran gender para kurcaci tidak menunjukkan gender bias. Sebab, mereka tidak digambarkan dalam karakter pangeran atau putri. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari 204 insiden yang telah diteliti, satu kurcaci digambarkan memiliki lebih banyak sifat maskulin daripada sifat feminin. Sedangkan, enam kurcaci lainnya digambarkan memiliki lebih banyak sifat-sifat feminin daripada sifat maskulin. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa para kurcaci tidak menunjukkan gender bias. Dengan demikian, karakter para kurcaci lebih menguntungkan bagi anak-anak dalam membantu proses gender knowledge development.

Disney's first full-length animated film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937) is the pioneer of Disney's animated film containing gender biases with the prince and princess as the subjects. This research aims to examine gender portrayals of the dwarfs in the film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937) through four dimensions traits, behaviors, physical characteristics, and occupations by using content analysis method. Since the dwarfs are not depicted in the prince or princess characters, it is expected that they do not show gender biases.

The results of the research shows that out of 204 incidents coded, one dwarf is found to be depicted as having more masculine traits than the feminine one. In contrast, the other six dwarfs are depicted as having more feminine traits than the masculine ones. The results suggest that the dwarfs do not show gender biases. Thus, they are more beneficial than gender-biased prince and princess characters for children in helping the process of gender knowledge development."

"Skripsi ini membahas tentang transformasi tokoh Snow White dalam film Snow White and The Huntsman untuk memenuhi aspek-aspek sosok pahlawan yang berdasarkan pada buku Margery Hourinhan, Deconstructing The Hero (1997). Film ini menunjukkan adanya penyesuasi tokoh Snow White sebagai perempuan menjadi sosok pahlawan yang terjenderkan maskulin.Snow White sebagai perempuan ditampilkan sebagai submisif, pasif, tidak berdaya dan dalam ranah domestik sehingga berlawanan dengan kualitas maskulin sosok pahlawan.Melalui analisis lewat mise-en-scene dalam film, tokoh Snow White menunjukkan pengadopsian terhadap kualitas maskulin sosok pahlawan agar dikukuhkan menjadi pahlawan.Kemudian, simbolisme yang dalam film juga memperlihatkan adanya justifikasi penokohan Snow White dalam konstruksi jender yang patriarki.

This focus of this study is to examine transformation of Snow White character in film Snow White and the Huntsman to perform aspects of the figure of hero by Margery Hourihan in her book, Deconstructing The Hero (1997). This film demonstrates adjustment Snow White character as a woman to be the figure of hero who is gendered masculine. Snow White as a woman is portrayed as submissive, passive, powerless and in the domestic sphere, in contrast with masculine quality in the figure of hero. Through mise-en-scene analysis in film, Snow White character reveals adopting to masculine quality in the figure of hero to be affirmed as a hero. Moreover, symbolism in film display the justification of Snow White’s characterization in accordance with gender construction based on the patriarchal system."

"Rotasi bintang tentunya akan memberikan efek pada sifat-sifat bintang yang digambarkan oleh persamaan keseimbangan hidrostatik [1]. Gaya sentrifugal akan mendistorsi bentuk bintang dan memodifikasi struktur keseimbangan bintang sedangkan gaya coriolis akan mempengaruhi osilasi bintang [2]. Pemilihan teori gravitasi termodifikasi seperti Eddington inspired Born Infeld (EiBI) dan Beyond Horndeski (BH) juga akan mempengaruhi geometri dari bintang. Pada studi ini pemilihan teori gravitasi termodifikasi akan mengubah persamaan Poisson yang mendeskripsikan bintang. Sehingga dapat dilihat perubahan pada persamaan keseimbangan hidrostatik dari bintang [3]. Persamaan Lane Emden telah banyak digunakan untuk menggambarkan distribusi massa pada sebuah bintang dengan atau tanpa rotasi [4]. Pada studi ini, kami ingin menghitung persamaan Lane-Emden termodifikasi secara analitik dan numerik pada bintang yang berotasi dengan teori gravitasi termodifikasi EiBI dan BH.

The star rotation will undoubtedly affect the star's characteristics described by the hydrostatic equilibrium equation [1]. The centrifugal force distorts the star's shape and modifies its equilibrium structure [2]. The choice of the gravity model such as Eddington inspired Born Infeld theory of gravity will also affect the geometry properties of stars. In this case, it will change the corresponding Poisson's equations. So it is desirable to see the modification of hydrostatic equation of states of the non-relativistic rotating stellar object within Eddington inspired Born Infeld and Beyond Horndeski theories of gravity [3] . Lane-Emden equations have been used to describe the mass-density distribution in the stars of polytropic equation state of the stars with and without rotation [4]. In this paper, we would like to derive analytically and numerically the modified Lame-Emden equations for rotating non-relativistic stars within both theories and discuss the corresponding numerical results."

"[ABSTRAKSnow White and the Huntsman merupakan sebuah film Hollywood tahun 2012 yang mendekonstruksi jalan cerita dan penokohan yang terdapat dalam film Snow White karya Brothers Grimm sehingga dianggap sebagai film yang memuat nilai feminis yang kuat. Meskipun begitu, jumlah penelitian yang mengkaji nilai patriakal dan ambivalensi terhadap representasi perempuan dalam film ini masih terbatas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana kontrol konsep Idealized Beauty dalam tokoh utama perempuan, dan bagaimana perempuan direpresentasikan dalam film Snow White and the Huntsman melalui penokohan tokoh utama perempuan. Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa Snow White and the Huntsman memiliki ambivalensi. Dalam satu sisi perempuan ditampilkan sebagai seorang pahlawan, namun perempuan juga ditampilkan sebagai men?s stuff yang dikontrol oleh konsep Idealized Beauty pada di sisi yang lain. Penelitian ini bermanfaat sebagai rujukan untuk memahami ambivalensi nilai-nilai patriakal yang masih berlaku dalam masyarakat sekarang.

Unfortunately, this film has not been extensively discussed for the ambivalences in women?s representation that perpetuate the long-held patriarchal beliefs of women. This is what this study attempts to accomplish through a critical and textual analysis of Snow White and Huntsman. It explores, in particular, how women are controlled by men?s idealized beauty and how the ambivalence towards women?s representation is depicted in this film. The findings show that Snow White and the Huntsman has ambivalences towards feminism: on the one hand, women are strongly depicted as heroes, but on the other hand they are depicted as men?s stuff that controlled by men?s idealized beauty. "Makalah ini melaporkan analisis tentang penggambaran peran gender perempuan dalam video musik terbaru tahun 2015 oleh grup band perempuan asal Korea (termasuk Girl’s Day’s Hello Bubble, SNSD’s Lion Heart, Oh My Girl’s Cupid, Miss A’s Only You, dan Red Velvet’s Ice Cream Cake). Video musik populer Korea telah mendominasi ruang media Asia selama dua dekade terakhir, dan telah menjadi agen yang berpotensi dalam membentuk pandangan masyarakat tentang pengertian gender. This paper reports an analysis on gender roles portrayals of women in recent 2015 Korean girl group music videos (including Girl’s Day’s Hello Bubble, SNSD’s Lion Heart, Oh My Girl’s Cupid, Miss A’s Only You, and Red Velvet’s Ice Cream Cake). Korean popular music videos have been dominating Asian media space for the last two decades, and have become a potential agent in shaping the society’s view on gender notions. This research aims to examine the gender roles performances which are validating stereotypes, as well as, society’s view on women’s power in the respected society through the images portrayed in the videos. By using mise-en-scene in film studies and Erving Goffman’s depictions of women images in media (1979), this study reveals that the representations of women in the videos portray Goffman’s depictions of women images and also the stereotypical gender roles performances. The images of women performing gender roles are validating gender stereotypes, and are also suggesting a reflection of women’s value in the society."

"ABSTRAKSnow White atau dalam bahasa Indonesia dikenal dengan Putri Salju adalah salah satu karakter fiksi yang pertama kali muncul dalam kumpulan dongeng milik Grimm Bersaudara. Penggambaran mengenai karakteristik seorang putri yang melekat pada karakter Snow White dalam dongeng membuat masyarakat memiliki konsep atau imaji seorang putri. Namun seiring perkembangan zaman, banyak dongeng yang menjadi acuan adaptasi untuk berbagai film, salah satunya film Snow White and the Huntsman produksi Hollywood sebagai hasil adaptasi dari dongeng Schneewittchen dalam kumpulan dongeng karya Grimm Bersaudara. Namun berbeda dengan karakter Snow White yang sudah dikenal masyarakat melalui dongeng, karakter Snow White dalam film mengalami perluasan yang cukup terlihat. Secara khusus, penelitian ini akan membahas mengenai perluasan karakter yang dialami oleh tokoh Snow White dalam film versi Hollywood serta bagaimana peran Hollywood dalam industri perfilman nasional dan internasional. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan teori representasi Stuart Hall, dan mitos dari Roland Barthes serta teori Gender."

"ABSTRAKPada tahun 1937, Perang Sino-Jepang Kedua resmi dimulai di Cina. Salah satu kekejaman yang terjadi pada perang tersebut dapat dilihat di Nanjing, di mana pasukan Jepang menduduki Nanjing dan dikatakan membunuh 200,000-300,000 orang dan memerkosa sekitar 20,000 wanita lebih dalam waktu enam pekan. ABSTRACTIn 1937, the Second Sino Japanese War officially began in China. One of the most notorious atrocities that happened during this time can be seen in Nanjing, where Japanese army occupied Nanjing and allegedly killed 200,000 300,000 people and raped as much as 20,000 women in the course of six weeks. Although this incident, which the Chinese dubbed as Nanjing Massacre, already been recognized as a war crime based on the 1946 International Military Tribunal for the Far East, there are still some dispute over what exactly happened during those six weeks, with the Japanese denying that such massacre ever occured. This wiritng will discuss the Nanjing Incident based on the Chinese, Japanese and the Western rsquo s perspective, and why such differences can occur."
