"Tujuan dari studi potong lintang ini adalah untuk membandingkan konsumsi pangan wanita usia reproduktif (19-49 tahun) yang gemuk dan normal di daerah Kebon Melati, Mangga Dua Selatan dan Pegangsaan yang termasuk daerah kumuh di Jakarta Pusat. Asupan energi total, karbohidrat dan protein jumlahnya lebih tinggi secara signifikan pada wanita yang gemuk sedangkan pada asupan protein dan densitas energi tidak ditemukan perbedaan yang signifikan. Selain itu ditemukan juga dua pola pangan yang secara subyektif diberi nama: pola "lebih sehat" dan pola "kurang sehat". Namun demikian tidak dapat disimpulkan mana di antara kedua pola tersebut yang menjadi pola konsumsi pada wanita yang gemuk dan normal karena tidak ditemukan hubungan antara antara pola konsumsi pangan dengan status kegemukan. Dalam studi ini juga ditemukan bahwa hubungan antara asupan energi dan status kegemukan tidak dipengaruhi oleh faktor-faktor individu lainnya.

The objective of this cross sectional study was to compare food consumption among obese and normal women of reproductive age (19-49 years) in Kebon Melati, Mangga Dua Selatan and Pegangsaan as representative of urban slum areas in Central Jakarta. Energy, carbohydrate and fat intakes in obese women were significantly higher, while protein intake and energy density were not statistically significant. Two dietary patterns were also found, subjectively named: the "more healthy" pattern and the "less healthy" pattern, but it cannot be concluded which of the dietary patterns characterized the diets of obese and normal women since there was no significant association between the dietary patterns and obesity status. This study also found that association of energy intake and obesity was not influenced by other factors.

"[Latar belakang: Konsumsi MRDPG meningkat secara paralel dengan peningkatan prevalens obesitas di seluruh dunia sehingga diduga menjadi salah satu faktor risiko obesitas yang bermakna. Data di Indonesia terbatas. Tujuan: Mengetahui pola konsumsi MRDPG dan hubungannya dengan obesitas pada anak sekolah usia 10-12 tahun. Metode: Penelitian ini terdiri dari 2 tahap. Tahap I (studi potong lintang) didesain untuk mengetahui pola konsumsi MRDPG (total sampling). Uji hipotesis dilakukan pada Tahap II (studi kasus kontrol) secara purposive sampling (subjek obes dan gizi baik) dengan matching (usia dan jenis kelamin). MRDPG yang diteliti adalah soda, fruit drink, sport drink, energy drink, teh manis, dan kopi instan/siap saji. Konsumsi MRDPG dinilai dengan semi kuantitatif FFQ yang telah divalidasi sebelumnya. Pemeriksaan antropometri dilakukan dengan cara standar sesuai protokol. Risiko obes karena konsumsi MRDPG dianalisis dengan conditional logistic regression bersama dengan faktor perancu. Hasil: Sebanyak 421 dan 182 subjek memenuhi kriteria penelitian tahap I dan II. Proporsi subjek yang mengonsumsi MRDPG adalah 92,2% dan 63,9% di antaranya mengonsumsi 1 kali atau lebih setiap hari. Konsumsi MRDPG pada anak lelaki lebih banyak dibandingkan perempuan (P<0,001). Rerata konsumsi MRDPG berdasarkan volume, kalori, dan gula tambahan adalah 348 ml, 117 kkal, dan 26,6 gram per hari (≈ 5 sdt gula pasir setiap hari). Kontribusi kalori terbesar adalah teh manis dan yang terkecil soda. Subjek mengonsumsi MRDPG di antara 2 waktu makan dan di semua tempat. Setelah mengontrol faktor perancu, subjek yang mengonsumsi MRDPG 1 kali atau lebih setiap hari memiliki risiko obes sebesar 2,54 kali (RO 2,54; IK 95% 1,07-6,05; P=0,03). Risiko tersebut bertambah sebesar 45% untuk setiap konsumsi 1 porsi (RO 1,45; IK 95% 1,08-1,94; P=0,01)(1 porsi=240 ml). Teh manis dan kopi instan/siap saji menunjukkan hubungan yang bermakna dengan obesitas. Simpulan: Pola konsumsi MRDPG pada anak sekolah usia 10-12 tahun mengkhawatirkan. "Obesitas sentral merupakan kondisi dimana terjadi penumpukkan lemak di bagian perut. Obesitas sentral berhubungan dengan risiko penyakit tidak menular seperti diabetes melitus tipe II, hipertensi, dislipidemia, sindrom metabolik, dan kanker. Prevalensi obesitas sentral diketahui meningkat baik di negara maju dan negara berkembang. Sebanyak 40,2% individu di dunia diperkirakan mengalami obesitas sentral. Indonesia termasuk negara berkembang dengan peningkatan prevalensi obesitas sentral dengan peningkatan dari tahun 2007, 2013, dan 2018 menurut data Riskesdas berturut- turut sebesar 18%, 26% , dan 31%. Peningkatan obesitas sentral dikaitkan dengan perkembangan ekonomi dan urbanisasi yang menyebabkan perubahan tidak menguntungkan dalam kebiasaan konsumsi makanan berkalori tinggi dan minuman manis, aktivitas fisik, perilaku sedentari, dan stres. Data Riskesdas 2018 menunjukkan prevalensi obesitas sentral di daerah perkotaan lebih tinggi dari prevalensi nasional, yaitu sebesar 35%.
Penelitian bertujuan untuk menganalisis lebih lanjut mengenai faktor dominan kejadian obesitas sentral pada penduduk usia 25-64 tahun di wilayah perkotaan Indonesia. Terdapat sebanyak 194.049 responden Riskesdas 2018 yang dilibatkan dalam chi-square dan uji multivariat regresi logistik ganda pada perangkat pengolah data.
Hasil penelitian menujukkan bahwa terdapat 15 variabel yang berhubungan signifikan dengan kejadian obesitas sentral, diantaranya: usia, jenis kelamin, tingkat pendidikan, status pekerjaan, status pernikahan, gangguan mental emosional, konsumsi makanna manis, konsumsi minuman manis, konsumsi makanan berlemak/gorengan, konsumsi softdrink, konsumsi alkohol, aktivitas fisik, dan kebiasaan merokok (p-value <0,05). Jenis kelamin perempuan diketahui sebagai faktor dominan kejadian obesitas sentral pada penduduk usia 25-64 tahun di wilayah perkotaa Indonesia (p-value 0,0005).
OR dari kejadian obesitas sentral lebih tinggi 4,060 (95%CI: 3,947-4,175) kali pada kelompok responden berjenis kelamin perempuan, setelah dikontrol oleh variabel lainnya. Dengan demikian, masyarakat di wilayah perkotan, khususnya perempuan, dihimbau untuk lebih meningkatkan kesadaran terkait obesitas sentral . Masyarakat dihimbau untuk dapat mengurangi konsumsi makanan berisiko, melakukan olahraga secara teratur, menghindari stres, dan menghindari perilaku merokok dan konsumsi alkohol. Instansi kesehatan diharapkan dapat membantu masyarakat dengan memberikan edukasi gizi dan promosi keseatan terkait obesitas sentral.

Central obesity is a condition where there is an accumulation of fat in the abdomen. Central obesity is associated with the risk of non-communicable diseases such as type II diabetes mellitus, hypertension, dyslipidemia, metabolic syndrome, and cancer. The prevalence of central obesity is known to increase in both developed and developing countries. As many as 40.2% of individuals in the world are estimated to have central obesity. Indonesia is a developing country with an increasing prevalence of central obesity with an increase from 2007, 2013, and 2018 according to riskesdas data, respectively, by 18%, 26%, and 31%. The increase in central obesity is associated with economic development and urbanization leading to unfavorable changes in consumption habits of high-calorie foods and sugary drinks, physical activity, sedentary behavior, and stress. Riskesdas 2018 data states that the prevalence of central obesity in urban areas is higher than the national prevalence, which is 35%.
This study aims to further analyze the dominant factors in the incidence of central obesity in the population aged 25-64 years in urban areas of Indonesia. There were 194,049 riskesdas 2018 respondents who were involved in this study. Data analysis used chi-square bivariate test and multiple logistic regression multivariate test on the application.
The results showed that there were 15 variables that were significantly associated with the incidence of central obesity, including: age, gender, education level, employment status, emotional mental health, consumption of sweet foods, sugary drinks, fatty foods, soft drinks, fruit and vegetable consumption, alcohol consumption, physical activity, and smoking habits (p-value <0,05). Female gender is known as the dominant factor in the incidence of central obesity in the population aged 25-64 years in urban areas of Indonesia (p-value 0,0005).
The OR of the incidence of central obesity was 4.06 (95%CI: 3,947-4,175) higher in the female respondent group, after being controlled by other variables. Thus, people in urban areas, especially women, are urged to increase awareness regarding central obesity. The public is encouraged to reduce the consumption of risky foods, do exercise regularly, avoid stress, and avoid smoking and alcohol consumption. Health agencies are expected to help the community by providing nutrition education and promotion of health related to central obesity.

"Skripsi ini membahas mengenai hubungan antara pola konsumsi (konsumsi fast food, konsumsi soft drink, kebiasaan sarapan), karakteristik remaja (berat lahir, jenis kelamin, pengetahuan gizi), karakteristik orang tua (durasi menyusui, IMT ayah, IMT ibu) dan asupan gizi (energi, karbohidrat, protein, lemak, serat) dengan overweight pada remaja di SMA Marsudirini Bekasi tahun 2013. Penelitian menggunakan studi deskriptif dengan disain penelitian cross sectional. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan total populasi setelah memenuhi krtiteia inklusi dan eksklusi yaitu sebanyak 117 orang. Analisis data meliputi analisis univariat, bivariat dengan chi square, dan multivariat dengan analisis regresi logistik.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa prevalensi overweight pada remaja sebesar 39,3%. Hasil analisis bivariat menunjukkan adanya hubungan antara IMT ayah, IMT ibu dan asupan lemak dengan overweight. Hasil analisis multivariat menunjukkan bahwa variabel yang memiliki pengaruh paling dominan terhadap overweight ialah asupan lemak. Saran yang dapat diberikan yaitu remaja rutin mengecek status gizinya dan menerapkan pola makan yang sesuai dengan pedoman umum gizi seimbang serta melakukan peer group discussion agar termotivasi untuk menjaga pola hidup sehat dan asupan gizi seimbang.

This thesis discusses relation between nutrient intake (energy, carbohydrate, protein, fat, fiber), consumption patterns (fast food consumption, soft drink consumption, breakfast habit), adolescents characteristic (birth weight, gender, nutrition knowledge) and parents characteristic (breastfeeding duration, father's Body Mass Index, mother's Body Mass Index) in adolescents at Marsudirini Bekasi Senior High School in 2013. The research uses a desciptive study with cross-sectional research design. Sampling using total population after fulfilling the inclusion and exclusion criteria were 117 people. Data analysis includes univariate, bivariate with chi square and multivariate with logistic regression analysis.
The result showed that the prevalence of overweight on adolescents as much as 39,3%. Bivariate analysis result indicate a relation between father's Body Mass Index, mother's Body Mass Index, and fat intake with overweight in adolescents, whereas there was no relation between consumption pattern, birth weight, gender, nutrition knowledge, breastfeeding duration and nutrient intake (energy, carbohydrate, protein, fiber) with overweight in adolescents. Multivariate analysis showed that the variables that have the most dominant influence on overweight is fat intake. Advice can be given that adolescents routinely check their nutritional status and diet apply in accordance with general guidelines balanced diet and doing peer group discussion for mantaining healthy life style and balance nutrient intake.

"Latar Belakang: Obesitas saat ini sudah menjadi masalah epidemik global. Angka kejadian obesitas yang meningkat dikaitkan dengan meningkatnya sedentary behaviour dan rendahnya aktivitas fisis. Penelitian mengenai perbedaan aktivitas fisis pada remaja obes dan non-obes memiliki hasil yang bervariasi. Penelitian mengenai hal ini sangat jarang di Indonesia. Tujuan: Mengetahui pola aktivitas fisis remaja usia 10-15 tahun dan mengetahui perbedaan rerata keluaran energi, intensitas aktivitas fisis, dan durasi aktivitas fisis intensitas sedang-berat, serta screen time remaja obes dan non-obes serta mengetahui kesesuaian aktivitas fisis remaja dengan rekomendasi. Metode: Penelitian potong lintang dilakukan terhadap siswa/i kelas VII dan VIII SMPN 216 Jakarta Pusat usia 10-15 tahun. Penelitian ini terdiri dari 2 tahap. Tahap pertama untuk melihat pola aktivitas fisis remaja usia 10-15 tahun sedangkan tahap kedua untuk melihat perbedaan rerata keluaran energi, intensitas aktivitas fisis, durasi aktivitas fisis intensitas sedang-berat, dan screen time remaja obes dan non-obes. Aktivitas fisis dinilai menggunakan buku harian Bouchard yang diisi selama 2 hari sekolah dan 1 hari libur. Hasil: Pekerjaan sekolah, menonton TV, jalan, renang, dan sepak bola merupakan aktivitas fisis yang sering dilakukan oleh remaja. Tidak terdapat perbedaan keluaran energi antara remaja obes dan non-obes (median 4752,9 (2950-8065,8) vs 4435,4 (2753,4-8134,7) kkal/hari, p 0,160). Intensitas aktivitas fisis remaja obes lebih rendah dibandingkan non-obes (median 1,5 (0,8-1,8) vs 2 (1,6-2,8) MET, p <0,001). Durasi aktivitas fisis intensitas sedang-berat remaja obes lebih pendek dibandingkan remaja non-obes ( 19.3 ± 6.9 vs 26.4 ± 3.4 menit, p 0,000). Screen time remaja obes lebih lama dibandingkan remaja non-obes (median 2,8 (1-6,6) vs 1,8 (0,3-6,1) jam, p 0,000). Tidak ada remaja yang memenuhi rekomendasi berdasarkan kriteria intensitas dan durasi aktivitas fisis, 15,5% remaja obes dan 79,8% remaja non-obes memenuhi rekomendasi berdasarkan screen time (p,0,001) . Simpulan: Aktivitas fisis bervariasi pada remaja usia 10-15 tahun. Tidak terdapat perbedaan keluaran energi antara remaja obes dan non-obes. Terdapat perbedaan intensitas aktivitas fisis, durasi aktivitas fisis intensitas sedang-berat, dan screen time antara remaja obes dan non-obes. Aktivitas fisis sebagian besar remaja tidak sesuai rekomendasi.
Background: Obesity is now a global epidemic problem. Increased prevalence of obesity is associated with increased sedentary behaviour and low physical activity. Research on differences in physical activity pattern in obese and nonobese adolescents have varying results. Research on this is very rare in Indonesia. Purpose: Knowing the physical activity patterns of adolescents aged 10-15 years old and know the difference between the mean energy output, physical activity intensity and duration of physical activity of moderate-vigorous intensity, and screen time obese and non-obese adolescents and determine the suitability of adolescents physical activity with recommendation. Method: Cross sectional study conducted on 6th and 7th grade students aged 10- 15 years old in 216 Junior High Schools. The study consisted of 2 phases. The first stage to see the physical activity patterns of adolescents aged 10-15 years, while the second stage to see the difference in mean energy output, intensity of physical activity, duration of physical activity of moderate-vigorous intensity, and screen time obese and non-obese adolescents. Physical activity was assessed using Bouchard diary for 2 days school and 1 day off. Results: School working, watching TV, walking, swimming, and football is a physical activity that is often done by adolescents. There was no difference in energy output between obese and non-obese adolescents (median 4752.9 (2950 to 8065.8) vs. 4435.4 (2753.4 to 8134.7) kcal / day, p 0.160). The intensity of physical activity of obese adolescents is lower than non-obese adolescents (median 1.5 (0.8 to 1.8) vs 2 (1.6 to 2.8) METs, p <0.001). Duration of physical activity of moderate-vigorous intensity obese adolescents shorter than non-obese adolescents (19.3 ± 6.9 vs 26.4 ± 3.4 minutes, p 0.000). Screen time obese adolescents longer than non-obese adolescents (median 2.8 (1 to 6.6) vs 1.8 (0.3 to 6.1) hours, p 0.000). There were no adolescents who meet recommendation based on the intensity and duration of physical activity criteria, 15.5% obese adolescent and 79.8% non-obese adolescents meet recommendations based on screen time (p, 0.001). Conclusion: Physical activity varies among adolescents age 10-15 years old. There are no difference in mean energy output but there are differences in intensity of physical activity, duration of physical activity of moderate-vigorous intensity, and screen time between obese and non-obese adolecents. Most of adolescents physical activity are not appropriate with recommendation."

"Latar belakang : Obesitas merupakan faktor risiko terjadinya sindroma metabolik. Skipping breakfast adalah salah satu kebiasaan makan yang berhubungan dengan obesitas dan sindroma metabolik. Penelitian pada populasi obes yang melihat hubungan antara kadar trigliserida dan lingkar pinggang dengan skipping breakfast belum ditemukan.
Tujuan : Diketahuinya hubungan antara kadar trigliserida dan lingkar pinggang penyandang obes dengan kebiasaan skipping breakfast.
Metode : Desain potong lintang pada laki-laki dan perempuan usia 20?50 tahun, IMT ≥ 25 kg/m2. Pengambilan subyek dengan consecutive sampling. Pengumpulan data dengan wawancara, pemberian catatan kebiasaan makan selama 1 minggu, pengukuran antropometri dan pemeriksaan laboratorium.
Hasil : Rerata usia subyek 36,76 ± 7,68 tahun, 38% memiliki kebiasaan skipping breakfast, dan 59% subyek adalah perempuan. Asupan energi total harian, karbohidrat, lipid dan protein kelompok skipping breakfast dan sarapan tidak berbeda bermakna. Median kadar trigliserida 104 (37?383)mg/dL dan rerata lingkar pinggang (100,16±7,74cm) pada skipping breakfast lebih rendah dibandingkan sarapan (115,50 (50?764)mg/dL dan 102,72±8,87cm), namun tidak signifikan secara stastistik. Tidak terdapat hubungan bermakna antara skipping breakfast dengan kadar trigliserida dan lingkar pinggang.
Kesimpulan : Kebiasaan skipping breakfast tidak berhubungan dengan kadar trigliserida dan lingkar pinggang pada penyandang obes.

Background: Obesity is a risk factor for metabolic syndrome. Skipping breakfast is one of eating pattern that related to obesity and metabolic syndrome. The study in obese to determine the association between tryglyceride and waist circumferance with skipping breakfast has not been found.
Objective: To determine the relationship between tryglyceride and waist circumference in obese with skipping breakfast.
Methods: A cross-sectional design in men and women aged 20-50 years, BMI ≥ 25 kg/m2. Consecutive sampling, data collecting with interview, 1 week dietary record, anthropometry and laboratory.
Results: The mean age of subjects 36.76 ± 7.68 years, 38% had skipping breakfast, and 59% of the subjects were women. Daily intake of energy, carbohydrate, lipid and protein between breakfast and breakfast skipping group did not differ significantly. The median of triglyceride in skipping breakfast group were 104 (37-383) mg / dL and mean waist circumference 100.16 ± 7.74 cm, lower than breakfast group (115.50 (50-764) mg / dL and 102.72 ± 8.87 cm), but not significant. There was no significant association between skipping breakfast with triglyceride and waist circumference.
Conclusion: Skipping breakfast is not associated with triglyceride and waist circumference in obese subject.

Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui beberapa faktor risiko yang berhubungan dengan lingkar pinggang sebagai indikator obesitas sentral. Desain penelitian yang digunakan cross-sectional dengan sistem random sampling pada 121 responden pegawai kantor pusat PT Wijaya Karya, Jakarta Timur di bulan April-Mei 2012. Data yang dikumpulkan meliputi lingkar pinggang, riwayat genetik, usia, jenis kelamin, indeks massa tubuh (IMT), persen lemak tubuh (PLT), pengeluaran per bulan, aktivitas fisik, dan asupan gizi (asupan energi, protein, lemak, karbohidrat, dan serat). Data dikumpulkan melalui pengukuran lingkar pinggang, persen lemak tubuh, antropometri, kuesioner, dan wawancara FFQ-semiquantirarive. Usia, IMT, PLT, pengeluaran per bulan, asupan energi, lemak, dan karbohidrat berkorelasi signifikan dengan lingkar pinggang (p < 0,05). Perbedaan signifikan juga ditunjukkan antara jenis kelamin dengan lingkar pinggang (p < 0,05). Semakin tinggi usia, IMT, PLT, asupan energi maka semakin besar ukuran lingkar pinggang.

ABSTRACT
The objective of this study was to determine the association of some risk factors in waist circtunference as an abdominal obesity indicator. A cross sectional comprised 121 respondent by random sampling among employee in head office PT Wijaya Karya, Jakarta Timur on April - May 2012. Data collected included genetic history, age, sex, BMI, body fat percentage (BFP), household outcome, physical activity, and dietaly intake (energy, protein, fat, carbohydrate, and fiber). Data were collected through waist measurement, percentage of body fat, anthropometry, questiomlaires, and FFQ-semiquantitative interviews. Age, BMI, BFP, household outcome, intake of energy, fat and carbohydrate were sig11ificantly correlated with waist circumference (p < 0,0S). Also indicated significant differences between the sexes with waist circumference. An increase in age, BMI, BFP, and intake of energy were correlated with a statistically significant in waist circumference gain."

"Obesitas bukan lagi menjadi masalah kesehatan di Negara maju, namun juga di Negara berkembang. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui hubungan tingkat pengetahuan dengan upaya pencegahan obesitas dan hubungan karakteristik dengan upaya pencegahan obesitas remaja di SMAN 97 Jakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain deskriptif korelasi melibatkan 97 sampel remaja usia 15-17 tahun direkrut menggunakan simple random sampling dengan memilih tiga kelas dari sembilan kelas X dan kelas XI dan quota sampling untuk pemilihan sampelnya. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner dan data diolah dengan uji chi square.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tidak adanya hubungan antara pengetahuan dengan upaya pencegahan obesita (p = 0,222; α = 0,05). Namun, terdapat hubungan antara karakteristik jenis kelamin dengan upaya pencegahan obesitas. Disarankan agar tak hanya dilakukan pendidikan kesehatan tentang obesitas saja, tetapi juga dengan berbagai pendekatan pada remaja yang dapat mengubah sikap dan perilaku mencegah obesitas.

Obesity was no longer a prevalent health problem in developed countries, but also for developing countries. The study was conducted to determine relationship between knowledge and prevention efforts in adolescence at 97 Senior High School. The research design descriptive correlation involving 97 samples of adolescents aged 15-17 years. Simple random sampling & quota sampling were used to select classes and student. Data was collected using questionnaire and analyzed with chi square.
The results showed there was no relationship between knowledge with prevention efforts in adolescence (p = 0,222; α = 0,05). However, there was a significant relationship between gender and prevention efforts. It is recommended obesity prevention should include a variety of approaches to change attitudes and behaviors.

"Obesitas didefinisikan sebagai kondisi meningkatnya berat badan individu akibat penumpukan jaringan lemak berlebih di dalam tubuh. Gaya hidup kurang gerak (sedentary) disertai dengan pola makan yang tidak sehat, turut meningkatkan kemungkinan terjadinya kelebihan gizi dan obesitas. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui prevalensi obesitas serta faktor risiko obesitas terkait lainnya, seperti faktor demografik (umur, jenis kelamin, jenjang pendidikan, pekerjaan), dan gaya hidup (merokok, olahraga, konsumsi alkohol).
Penelitian ini menggunakan desain cross-sectional yang dimulai dari bulan April 2011 dengan melakukan anamnesis dan pengukuran antropometri pada penduduk Kelurahan Kayu Putih, Jakarta Timur. Kriteria obesitas yang digunakan adalah kriteria IMT yang dipakai oleh Departemen Kesehatan Republik Indonesia. Analisis hubungan antara faktor-faktor yang terkait dengan obesitas di studi ini dilakukan melalui uji Chi-square bila syarat terpenuhi. Didapatkanlah prevalensi obesitas di Kelurahan Kayu Putih sebanyak 35.2% dan ditemukanlah hubungan yang bermakna (p=0.043), antara prevalensi obesitas dan tingkat pendidikan responden sementara faktor-faktor yang lain tidak menunjukkan hubungan yang bermakna dengan obesitas.

Obesity, a condition of excessive accumulation of body fat beyond physical requirements and skeletal limitation, has now become a public health concern. The condition of having a sedentary lifestyle where physical exercise is lacking and a healthy-balanced diet are neglected, increases the possibility of being overweight and obese. The aim of this study is to identify the prevalence of obesity and its related factors, such as demographical factors (age, gender, level of education, occupation) and lifestyle (smoking, physical activity, and alcohol consumption).
Starting from April 2011, this cross sectional research design was done by performing history taking and anthropometry measurements to the citizens. The criteria of obesity are based on the Body Mass Index (BMI) classification used by Indonesia's Ministry of Health. Analysis of the related risk factors with obesity is done using the Chi-square test, when the required conditions are met. The prevalence of obesity in Kelurahan Kayu Putih was 35.2%. Chi square analysis showed a significant relationship (p=0.043), between the prevalence of obesity and the respondents? level of education; whereas, other factors did not.
