Skripsi ini membahas mengenai penyelenggaraan dan peranan informed consent pada tindakan medis bedah hewan di Rumah Sakit Hewan Pendidikan Fakultas Kedokteran Hewan Institut Pertanian Bogor (RSH FKH IPB). Dalam skripsi ini akan dibahas mengenai definisi informed consent dan keberlakuannya sesuai dengan Hukum perjanjian yang berlaku. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana penyelenggaraan dan peranan informed consent antara pasien dan dokter hewan, dimana pasien disini diwakili oleh klien sebagai pemilik hewan. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan bentuk penelitian hukum yuridis-normatif. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah penyelenggaraan informed consent yang dilakukan telah sesuai dengan peraturan perundang-undangan. Peranan dari lembar informed consent ini terkait dengan pertanggungjawaban rumah sakit hewan apabila terjadi sengketa dan klien menderita kerugian akibat tindakan dokter hewan dikarenakan masih belum adanya peraturan hukum terkait dengan praktik kedokteran hewan, sehingga peran informed consent sebagai dasar perjanjian antara kedua belah pihak sangat penting.

ABSTRACT
The essay mainly discusses about the practices and roles of informed consent in veterinary surgery medical act at the Faculty of Veterinary Institute of Agriculture Bogor Animal Hospital. In this essay, the discussion about the definition of informed consent and its enforceability according to the legal agreement that is used. The objective of this research is to find out how the practices and roles of informed consent between the patient and the vet, where the patient is represented by the client as a pet owner. This research is a qualitative one with the form of research is juridical ? normative. The output of this research is a practices of informed consent which corresponds to the regulation rules. The roles of informed consent sheet is connected to the responsibility of the animal hospital if the client suffers loss done by the vet because there is yet a legal law in veterinary practice, hence the role of informed consent as a base agreement between both parties is crucial;
