ABSTRAKSkripsi ini membahas mengenai penyelenggaraan dan peranan informed consentpada tindakan medis bedah hewan di Rumah Sakit Hewan Pendidikan FakultasKedokteran Hewan Institut Pertanian Bogor (RSH FKH IPB). Dalam skripsi iniakan dibahas mengenai definisi informed consent dan keberlakuannya sesuaidengan Hukum perjanjian yang berlaku. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untukmengetahui bagaimana penyelenggaraan dan peranan informed consent antarapasien dan dokter hewan, dimana pasien disini diwakili oleh klien sebagai pemilikhewan. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan bentuk penelitian hukumyuridis-normatif. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah penyelenggaraan informedconsent yang dilakukan telah sesuai dengan peraturan perundang-undangan.Peranan dari lembar informed consent ini terkait dengan pertanggungjawabanrumah sakit hewan apabila terjadi sengketa dan klien menderita kerugian akibattindakan dokter hewan dikarenakan masih belum adanya peraturan hukum terkaitdengan praktik kedokteran hewan, sehingga peran informed consent sebagai dasarperjanjian antara kedua belah pihak sangat penting.

ABSTRACTThe essay mainly discusses about the practices and roles of informed consent inveterinary surgery medical act at the Faculty of Veterinary Institute of AgricultureBogor Animal Hospital. In this essay, the discussion about the definition ofinformed consent and its enforceability according to the legal agreement that isused. The objective of this research is to find out how the practices and roles ofinformed consent between the patient and the vet, where the patient is representedby the client as a pet owner. This research is a qualitative one with the form ofresearch is juridical ? normative. The output of this research is a practices ofinformed consent which corresponds to the regulation rules. The roles of informedconsent sheet is connected to the responsibility of the animal hospital if the clientsuffers loss done by the vet because there is yet a legal law in veterinary practice,hence the role of informed consent as a base agreement between both parties iscrucial;
