Tesis ini merupakan penelitian yang berformat studi kasus, dimana permasalahan yang terjadi merupakan problematika riil yang terjadi di PT. Mitra  Rajawali Banjaran, anak perusahaan dari holding company PT. Rajawali Nusantara Indonesia yang bergerak di lini bisnis alat kesehatan, dengan produk utama berupa kondom. Sebagai satu-satunya produsen kondom lokal di Indonesia, ironisnya PT. MRB justru mengalami kerugian keuangan yang berkepanjangan, ditambah lagi dengan market share produknya yang hanya berada di kisaran 2%. Dengan potensi pasar industri kondom di Indonesia yang cukup atraktif, peta persaingan saat ini justru didominasi oleh produk-produk impor dengan persentase sekitar 98%. Menggunakan metode depth interview kepada beberapa aktor yang menjadi pengambil keputusan di perusahaan, diketahui bahwa hal tersebut dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor, diantaranya adalah inefisiensi distribution channel dan kapasitas produksi, serta isu rendahnya kualitas produk yang terakumulasi menjadi permasalahan yang cukup kompleks. Dengan melakukan analisa yang bersifat kualitatif dan kuantitatif, penelitian ini berupaya membangun beberapa opsi yang tujuan utamanya adalah untukmeningkatkan penjualan guna  melepaskan perusahaan dari defisit keuangan yang telah terjadi sekian lama. Opsi-opsi yang terbagi menjadi dua timeframe yaitu jangka pendek dan jangka panjang tersebut adalah dengan melakukan aliansi strategis dengan mekanisme B2B (maklon) dan mencari strategic investor untuk pendanaan hingga perusahaan dinilai mampu melakukan investasi, baik finansial dan non-finansial untuk membangun program pemasaran dan masuk ke pasar reguler, sedangkan opsi yang paling ekstrem adalah dengan melakukan likuidasi dari aset yang dimiliki oleh PT. MRB. ......This thesis is a research with case study format, where there are real problem that occurs in the PT. Mitra Rajawali Banjaran, a subsidiary of the holding company PT. Rajawali Nusantara Indonesia engaged in the medical devices business line, with condom as a primary product. As the only local condom manufacturer in Indonesia, ironically PT. MRB experienced a prolonged financial losses, coupled with low market share of its products, only in the range of 2%. With a quite attractive potential of condom industry market in Indonesia, competitive landscape today is dominated by imported products with percentages of approximately 98%. Using depth interview method to some actors who become decision makers in the company, it is known that it is influenced by several factors, including the inefficiency of distribution channels and production capacity, as well as the issue of low quality products that accumulate those problems becomes quite complex. By qualitative and quantitative analysis, this study sought to build several options whose main objective is toimprove sale in order to release the company from financial deficits that occurred for so long. The options are divided into two timeframes short term and long term, by doing a strategic alliance with B2B (tolling) mechanism and searching for strategic investor for financing until PT. MRB is able to invest both financially and non-financially to build marketing programs and penetrate into the regular market, while the most extreme option is to conduct liquidation of the assets owned by PT. MRB.

Penelitian ini mengevaluasi gambaran umum untuk mengetahui bagaimana mengimplementasikan strategic alliances dalam membentuk entrepreneurial ecosystem untuk bank sampah di Bali untuk mencapai peningkatan nilai sampah plastik dengan memproduksi produk daur ulang. Analisis dilakukan pada kesembilan aspek yang ada di business model canvas untuk mendapatkan pandangan secara komprehensif mengenai business model canvas yang cocok untuk bank sampah di Bali untuk mulai memproduksi produk daur ulang. Dari sana, business model canvas yang baru akan muncul. Setelah itu, untuk mencapai keberlangsungan, implementasi dari strategic alliances untuk menciptakan entrepreneurial ecosystem akan direkomendasikan dalam bentuk rencana kerja. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga melakukan riset pasar untuk memahami harga-harga yang paling baik untuk setiap prototipe produk. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan analisa data kualitatif yang didapatkan melalui ­in-depth interview, observasi langsung, studi literatur, dan didukung oleh kuesioner yang bersifat konfirmatoris kepada calon pelanggan. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat berdampak positif terhadap pendapatan bank sampah di Bali dan untuk meningkatkan nilai sampah plastik sehingga jumlah sampah plastik dapat berkurang secara tidak langsung. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa business model canvas dapat menyajikan gambaran komprehensif dari suatu model bisnis. Sebagai tambahan, aka nada rencana kerja sebagai bentuk implementasi strategic alliances untuk membentuk entrepreneurial ecosystem bagi bank sampah di Bali dalam memproduksi produk plastik daur ulang. Setelah melakukan penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa membentuk entrepreneurial ecosystem akan menjadi awal yang baik bagi bank sampah di Bali sebelum mulai memproduksi produk plastik daur ulang. ...... This article evaluated general overview to understand how to implement strategic alliances on forming entrepreneurial ecosystem for waste banks in Bali to achieve a value-increment of the plastic waste by producing plastic recycled products. To begin with, the analysis was conducted in all nine aspects given in the business model canvas to gain a comprehensive insight about which business model canvas describes best for waste banks in Bali to start producing plastic recycled. Therefrom, new business model canvas will be developed. Moreover, to achieve sustainability, implementation of strategic alliances for the forming of entrepreneurial ecosystem will be recommended in form of action plans. Furthermore, this research also conducted a market research to understand the best prices of each products prototype. This research has conducted by using qualitative data analysis gathered through in-depth interviews, direct observation, literature review, and supported by confirmatory questionnaire to potential customers. The result is expected to positively affect waste banks’ revenue in Bali and to enhance the value of plastic waste so that the amount of plastic waste will indirectly be reduced. The result shows that business model canvas can provide comprehensive picture of a business model. And as an addition, there will be action plans for implementation of strategic alliances to form an entrepreneurial ecosystem for waste banks in Bali to produce plastic recycled products. After conducting this research, it is to be concluded that forming an entrepreneurial ecosystem will be a good start for waste banks in Bali prior to start producing plastic recycled products.

The research was conducted with the empirical study of implementing the strategic alliances on a complete learning framework’s dimension: relationship capital, surfacing, joint learning structures, and knowledge acquisition. As a result, strategic alliances create dynamic learning, integration, and reconfiguration capabilities to achieve strategic alliance performance. In addition, this research also studies mediation's function on dynamic capability to strategic alliance performance. The result answered the research problem in this research: the high failure rate of strategic alliance implementation in the partial learning framework. The research uses the quantitative method. The interview was conducted as an additional explanatory function. ......Penelitian dilakukan dengan studi empiris penerapan aliansi strategis pada dimensi kerangka pembelajaran lengkap: modal hubungan, permukaan, struktur pembelajaran bersama, dan perolehan pengetahuan. Hasilnya, aliansi strategis menciptakan pembelajaran dinamis, integrasi, dan kemampuan konfigurasi ulang untuk mencapai kinerja aliansi strategis. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga mengkaji fungsi mediasi pada kapabilitas dinamis terhadap kinerja aliansi strategis. Hasil tersebut menjawab permasalahan penelitian dalam penelitian ini: tingginya tingkat kegagalan implementasi aliansi strategis pada kerangka pembelajaran parsial. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif. Wawancara dilakukan sebagai fungsi penjelasan tambahan.

Memperkuat value-chain MNE (Multinational Enterprises) membutuhkan ketahanan dari perusahaan cabang mereka yang terus menghadapi tantangan atas ketersinambungannya secara global. Peneliti sebelumnya telah mengemukakan bahwa flexibilitas dalam memasuki, mengubah, dan meninggalkan aliansi di host-country, bisa mengangkat masalah yang timbul di sana, sehingga memudahkan subsidiary mengambil pilihan-pilihan strategis yang diinginkan. Namun, ada beberapa aspek yang perlu dipertimbangkan sebelum flexibilitas strategi dilakukan. Studi empiris secara quantitatif yang berlandaskan pada teori "Resource-Based View" dalam konteks manajemen strategi internasional ini, maka, akan mengambil makna dari penemuan atas aspek strategi flexibilitas dari latar belakang tersebut. Berfokus pada hubungan antara aliansi strategis dan faktor penentu dan integrasi vertikal dengan perusahaan induk, penelitian ini pun menguji bahasan tersebut menggunakan regresi OLS. Pengaruh moderasi dari risiko politik host-country juga kemampuan internal perusahaan cabang untuk networking melalui manajer berlatar belakang asing bagi host-country, diselidiki melalui survei terhadap manajer operational di level menengah dalam perusahaan kecil hingga besar yang mendiami berbagai negara berisiko politik. Dari sampel ini, ditemukan implikasi manajerial yang membuktikan bahwa keterikatan ke perusahaan induk mendukung pengambilan keputusan mengenai aliansi di host-country karena desentralisasi yang ada dalam perusahaan cabang, namun, dapat terganggu oleh risiko politik dan kemampuan manajer asing dalam membangun hubungan dengan partner. Penelitian ini membantu mengklarifikasi koneksi bentuk integrasi vertikal antara perusahaan cabang dan induk yang ada, dengan pilihan-pilihan aliansi strategis, di dalam situasi politik yang mengancam serta komposisi manajer asing yang telah ditetapkan. ......Strengthening MNEs (Multinational Enterprises) value-chain requires their subsidiaries' sustainability that are constantly challenged due to being globally interconnected. Previous researcheshave posited that flexibility in entering, modifying, and exiting alliances in the host-country, could alleviate the issue, enabling subsidiaries to pursue desired strategic choices. Several considerable aspects, nevertheless, should be weighed prior to its execution. This quantitative empirical study upon the reource-based view foundation, thus derives from that finding and focus on strategic alliance's relationship with a detrimentally affecting factor, vertical integration with the parent company, as tested using OLS regression. Moderating influences from the host-country's political risk and their internal ability to form networking in the host-country through foreign managers are surveyed on middle-level operational managers from small to large companies residing in various politically risky countries. From there, the managerial implications draw that integratedness to parent companies promotes alliance decision-making due to decentralization in subsidiaries but can be hampered by host-country's political risk and foreign managers' established bond with partners. This research helps clarify the connection between settled vertical integration to strategic alliances choices, with given political threats and prospective foreign manager composition.
