"Ketidakpastian kondisi membuat Industri perhotelan yang merupakan sektor utama dari industri pariwisata termasuk ke dalam kategori industri yang paling rentan. Karena itu lah jenis usaha start-up khususnya di bidang Bidang Perhotelan membutuhkan strategi agar mampu menghadapi ketidakpastian kondisi kedepannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh sensemaking terhadap knowledge creation dan decision making pada start-up Bidang Perhotelan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dan mengambil 80 responden dengan teknik penarikan sampel berupa sampel jenuh dari PT Bobobox Mitra Indonesia selaku salah satu start-up Bidang Perhotelan di Indonesia yang paling populer. Analisis data dilakukan dengan analisis regresi sederhana dan Uji F. Pengolahan data yang didapat menggunakan SPSS 26 for Windows. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh menunjukan jika adanya pengaruh dari sensemaking terhadap knowledge creation dan decision making. Penelitian ini mampu membuktikan jika sensemaking, knowledge creation beserta decision making dapat membantu start-up industri perhotelan semakin siap menghadapi perubahan dan ketidakpastian kondisi dan informasi.

Changes occur everyday in the world and many uncertain conditions matter. Especially start-up businesses nowadays that count one of their primary capital on investors. On the other hand hotelier is one of the industry sectors that is quite vulnerable due to its type of income being classified as a tertiary expense. Hence why start-up hotels need to be prepared to face uncertainty conditions. This study aims to analyze the effect of sensemaking towards knowledge creation and decision making on start-up hotels. Using a quantitative approach, this study distributed questionnaires to 80 respondents with a saturated sample technique, who are categorized as top and middle management at PT Bobobox Mitra Indonesia as one of the well-known hotel start-ups in Indonesia. This research use SPSS 26 for Windows, and obtains results that show sensemaking has an influence on knowledge creation and decision making. This research also proves that sensemaking, , knowledge creation, and decision making is useful to face uncertain condition and obtain secure information."

"Perilaku informasi memainkan peran signifikan dalam mengurangi risiko pandemi COVID-19. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi perilaku informasi melalui setiap fase pandemi COVID-19 pada masyarakat Indonesia yang dikenal erat dengan budaya kolektifnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan sensemaking, yakni menekankan proses yang dijalani individu untuk memahami situasi dan memberikan makna pada informasi yang diterima dari lingkungan. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan 10 partisipan untuk mendapatkan gambaran tentang perilaku informasi selama pandemi COVID-19. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan open, axial dan selective coding yang merupakan bagian dari analisis metode grounded theory. Penelitian ini menemukan perubahan perilaku informasi, termasuk pencarian, pencegahan, dan pembatasan paparan informasi yang bersifat acak pada awal pandemi berangsur menjadi lebih teratur di fase-fase berikutnya. Perubahan ini dipengaruhi oleh “pemenuhan kesenjangan pengetahuan” dan “penggunaan pengetahuan lokal” di antara partisipan sepanjang pandemi. Penelitian ini juga menemukan pada masyarakat Indonesia terdapat beberapa karakteristik khusus yang dipengaruhi oleh budaya kolektif yang kuat dalam melakukan perilaku informasi seperti penggunaan sumber informasi terkait pandemi sebagian besar berasal dari keluarga, tetangga, dan rekan kerja yang dominan sebagai upaya untuk mengisi kesenjangan pengetahuan. Mereka saling bertukar informasi berdasarkan perkembangan terkini dari otoritas kesehatan mengenai situasi pandemi, pertukaran informasi seperti pengetahuan lokal mencakup minuman herbal dan panduan dalam melaksankan ibadah selama pandemi, serta melakukan validasi informasi dari berbagai sumber yang seringkali dipenuhi dengan informasi tidak akurat dan misinformasi. Penelitian ini mengusulkan sebuah kerangka kerja perilaku informasi berbasis sensemaking untuk mitigasi risiko dan pengurangan dalam krisis kesehatan berkelanjutan. Kerangka tersebut terdiri atas empat komponen, yaitu: pemahaman krisis pandemi, identifikasi kebutuhan dan proses perilaku informasi, sumber pengetahuan krisis, serta hasil untuk menentukan tindakan kesehatan. Kesimpulannya, penelitian ini memberikan bukti empiris gambaran perilaku informasi kesehatan, proses sensemaking dan penggunaan pengetahuan lokal yang dilakukan para partisipan seiring dengan perubahan situasi, risiko, dan pengelolaan protokol kesehatan selama enam fase pandemi COVID-19. Temuan awal dan kerangka kerja yang dikembangkan dapat digunakan dalam penelitian masa depan guna memahami perubahan dalam perilaku informasi individu yang relevan dengan krisis-krisis lainnya, seperti bencana alam, krisis ekonomi, atau krisis sosial-politik di wilayah tertentu dan diperluas pada kelompok partisipan lain yang belum dikaji dalam penelitian ini seperti kelompok marjinal yang belum mendapatkan akses informasi kesehatan yang memadai.

Information behavior plays a significant role in mitigating the risks of the COVID-19 pandemic. This research explores information behavior throughout each phase of the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia, known for its strong collective culture. Employing a sensemaking approach, which emphasizes the process individuals undergo to comprehend situations and attribute meaning to the information received from their environment. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with 10 participants to gain insights into information behavior during the COVID-19 pandemic. Data analysis was conducted using open, axial, and selective coding, which are part of the grounded theory analysis method. The study found changes in information behavior strategies, including information seeking, prevention, and limiting exposure to random information, transitioning from disorderly at the onset of the pandemic to more organized in subsequent phases. These changes were influenced by "knowledge gap fulfillment" and "use of local knowledge" among participants throughout the pandemic. Findings also revealed specific characteristics within Indonesian society influenced by its strong collective culture in conducting information behavior, such as reliance on sources of information primarily from family, neighbors, and colleagues dominantly as efforts to fill knowledge gaps. They exchanged information based on the latest developments from health authorities regarding the pandemic situation, information exchange such as local knowledge including herbal drinks and guidance in practicing religious rituals during the pandemic, as well as validating information from various sources often filled with inaccurate information and misinformation. This research proposes a framework for sensemaking-based information behavior strategies for risk mitigation and reduction in ongoing health crises. The framework consists of four main components: understanding the pandemic crisis, identification of information behavior needs and strategies, crisis knowledge sources, and outcomes to determine health actions. In conclusion, this research provides empirical evidence of the depiction of health information behavior, sensemaking processes, and the utilization of local knowledge by participants amidst the evolving situations, risks, and management of health protocols during the six phases of the COVID-19 pandemic. The initial findings and framework developed can be utilized for future research to comprehend changes in individual information behaviors relevant to other crises such as natural disasters, economic crises, or socio-political crises in specific regions, and can be expanded to other participant groups not examined in this study, including marginalized populations who may not have adequate access to health information.

"ABSTRAK
Lingkungan bisnis berubah semakin kompleks, dinamis, menghujamkan informasi tanpa jeda pada organisasi. Masalah organisasi mencuat manakala informasi yang dihadapi berbeda dari pengalaman yang telah dimiliki. Konsekuensinya, organisasi yang mampu memaknai dan menginterpretasikan lingkungan (sensemaking), membangun Simpulan pertama, karakteristik knowing organization menunjukkan: (a) sensemaking mengakar pada identitas organisasi yang terkonstruk melalui outward looking dan inward looking, (b) knowledge creating dipengaruhi strategi hasil sensemaking, dan (c) mode decision making berpola process ketika menjamin service delivery, bounded rational ketika terkait market positioning, dan political ketika proses knowledge sharing. Kedua, dinamika knowing organization bersifat (a) self-fulfilling prophecy dengan identitas organisasi sebagai leverage, dan (b) eksistensi ?paradox of belonging? terjadi dengan dampak overshoot & collapse akibat menguatnya learning itu sendiri. Sebagai early warning paradoks: (a) waktu adaptasi untuk yakin terhadap produk dan metode service delivery, dan (b) intensitas konflik nilai komunitas praktek: selling, consulting, dan product developing.
Penelitian menghasilkan sintesis, modifikasi teori, bahwa knowing organization terjadi jika informasi mengalir berpola feedback di antara aktivitas sensemaking, knowledge creating, dan decision making, dimana identitas organisasi menjadi sumber nilai anggota organisasi dalam bertindak sehingga keluaran dari setiap aktivitas menyajikan konteks dan sumber daya yang terinci untuk aktivitas yang lainnya, dan paradoks learning melekat di dalam dinamika knowing organization. Sebagai kajian akademis, implikasi penelitian ini yaitu pada: (a) modifikasi teori knowing organization, (b) teorisasi deskriptif-preskriptif untuk kajian organizational learning, (c) metode preskripsi dari konstruktivisme dalam kajian strategi organisasi, dan (d) disain mixed model research untuk ilmu administrasi bisnis dengan karakter applied science.

ABSTRACT
The greatly and dynamically changing business environment has continuously hammered the organization with abundant information. The problem of organization comes up when the information faced by is different from the experience on organization that someone has had. Consequently, the organization able to conceive and to interpret the environment (sensemaking) must construct the knowledge to overcome the problem and mobilize the knowledge and its skill (knowledge creating) that it can provide the organization with the detailed context for decision making in managing the organizational resources (decision making) required by an environmentally adaptive organization. This Choo?s proposition of knowing organization has led to the strong interest in understanding more deeply the phenomenon of the social construction process of knowing in a Human Resources management consultant organization under the case study of ?Daya Dimensi Indonesia?.
This research applies the design of the mixed model research combining both the qualitative and the quantitative approaches. The etnomethodology method qualitative approach is used to answer questions about the characteristics of knowing organization observed in an organization. The system dynamics method quantitative approach is used to answer questions about what the dynamic of knowing organization is like. The research is aimed at presenting the knowledge about: Firstly, the characteristics of the knowing Human Resources consultant management organization or the learning organization; and secondly, the dynamic or the structure of cause and effect relationship among the activities of sensemaking, knowledge creating and decision making, the possible paradox of knowing organization, the prescription for managing the effects of paradox.
The first conclusion, the characteristics of knowing organization shows (a) the sensemaking underlines the organization identity constructed through both the outward looking and inward looking, (b) the knowledge creating is influenced by the sensemaking strategy, (c) the decision making has the process mode when it guarantees the service delivery, the bounded rational mode when related to marketing positioning, and the political mode when during the knowledge sharing process. The second, the dynamic of knowing organization is characterized by its self-fulfilling prophecy with the organization identity as its leverage, (b) the extension of the ?paradox of belonging? with its overshoot and collapse effects caused by the increase of the learning itself. As an early warning paradox: (a) the adaptation time to convince with the product and the method of delivery service, (b) the conflict intensity of the community value practice: selling, consulting, and product developing.This research results in a synthesized, modified theory saying that knowing organization happens when the pattern of the flowing information shows feedback among the activities of sensemaking, knowledge creating and decision making in which the organization identity serves as the value source for the members of the organization in their taking actions so as to gain each activity output providing any other activities with the detailed context and resources and with the learning paradox embedded in the dynamic of knowing organization. As an academic study, the implication of this research is on: (a) the modified theory of knowing organization, (b) the theorized descriptive-prescriptive method for the organizational learning, the prescriptive method of constructivism in a case study of organizational strategy; and (d) the design of the mixed model research for business administration science characterized as an applied science."

"Penelitian ini ingin melihat pergeseran wewenang struktur formal yang diakibatkan oleh kuatnya struktur informal dalam program Susuya MNC TV. Hasil observasi awal menunjukkan adanya pergeseran wewenang dari Produser kepada Host. Dengan menggunakan metode Soft Systems Methodology,ditemukan beberapa kondisi problematik yang terjadi yaitu Host secara tidak langsung menjadi pemimpin (leader) dalam proses produksi program Susuya terutama yang berhubungan dengan konten dan gimmick, lalu di lapangan pun terlihat seolah-olah Produser itu sejajar dengan Kreatif. Selain itu, ternyata Host lah yang mempunyai andil yang besar dalam pembuatan konsep program Susuya tersebut sedangkan Produser belum memiliki pengalaman dalam memproduksi program seperti program Susuya sehingga Host merasa memiliki kewenangan lebih dalam program tersebut. Sistem Pengembalian Wewenang dari Host Kepada Produser dengan Pengawasan dan Evaluasi yang terdiri dari delapan human activity system dan Sistem Pengembalian Wewenang ke tangan Produser dengan Peningkatan Kemampuan dan Keahlian Produser yang terdiri dari sembilan human activity systems ini dipilih oleh peneliti sebagai sistem yang akan dianalisa lebih lanjut dengan menggunakan berbagai perangkat yang ada dalam Soft Systems Methodology seperti CATWOE, PQR, dan 3E. Lalu hasil implikasi teori dalam penelitian ini adalah pada dimensi Legitimization of legitimacy, studi ini menunjukkan bahwa konsep yang dikemukakan oleh Meyer dan Rowan mengenai cara mempertahankan legitimasi dengan menggunakan cara ceremonial inspection and evaluation kurang tepat untuk menggambarkan kondisi yang terjadi pada program Susuya tersebut. Dengan menggunakan kritik mengenai kontrol dan koordinasi “lunak” dari Gordon, Kornberger, dan Clegg ini menunjukkan bahwa cara tersebut justru memunculkan struktur dominasi dari Host. Lalu pada dimensi yang kedua yaitu sensemaking and legitimacy, studi ini menunjukkan bahwa konsep dari Meyer dan Rowan yang mengatakan bahwa untuk memenuhi kendala kontekstual biasanya organisasi menggunakan strategi retoris dan teknik ini cukup sesuai untuk menggambarkan apa yang terjadi pada organisasi produksi program Susuya. Namun mengacu kepada konsep sensemaking and legitimacy yang dikemukakan oleh Gordon, Kornberger, dan Clegg ini menjelaskan bahwa mereka mengasosiasikan legitimasi menjadi sesuatu yang tidak hanya harus terlihat sah tetapi juga masuk akal. Maka dari itu, apabila Produser ingin meraih kembali kewenangannya maka Produser perlu melakukan upaya-upaya tindakan langsung yang terlihat lebih masuk akal agar dapat mengurangi dominasi Host dalam produksi program Susuya tersebut.

This study wants to see a shift in the formal structure of authority caused by strong informal structure in Susuya MNC TV programs. Results of preliminary observations indicated a shift of authority from the producer to the Host. By using the Soft Systems Methodology, found some problematic conditions that occur are hosts indirectly become the leader in the production process of the Susuya program especially relating to the content and gimmick, and the field also looks as though it is parallel between Creative and Producer. In addition The host have a significant role in drafting the program Susuya while the Producer has no experience in producing programs such as Susuya program that hosts feel has authority over the program. The process Transformation of Authority Returns Systems Authority of Host To Producer with Control and Evaluation which consisted of eight human activity system and The Transformation Process of Authority Returns Systems with Upgrades of Producer Ability and Skill which consisted of nine human activity systems have been selected by the researchers as a system to be analyzed further by using a variety of devices that exist in the Soft Systems Methodology as CATWOE, PQR, and 3E. Then the results of the theoretical implications of this research is on the dimensions of Legitimization of legitimacy, this study shows that the concept proposed by Meyer and Rowan on how to maintain the legitimacy of the use of inspection and evaluation ceremonial way less up to describe the conditions that occur in the Susuya program. By using criticism about “soft”control and coordination from Gordon, Kornberger, and Clegg have demonstrated that it actually led to the dominance of the Host structure. Then in the second dimension is sensemaking and legitimacy, this study shows that the concept of Meyer and Rowan who said that to meet the contextual constraints usually organizations use rhetorical strategies and techniques is quite appropriate to describe what is happening in the organization of production Susuya program. However, referring to the concept of sensemaking and legitimacy proposed by Gordon, Kornberger, and Clegg explained that they associate legitimacy into something that does not just have to look legitimate but also reasonable. Therefore, if the producer wants to regain its authority, the producer needs to make efforts to direct action that looks more reasonable in order to reduce the dominance of Hosts in the production of the Susuya program.
