"Penulisan skripsi ini berfokus pada the overlooked architecture yang merupakan elemen arsitektur yang berinteraksi dengan aktivitas manusia dalam lingkup everyday life dengan frekuensi yang tinggi hingga menciptakan suatu ritme tersendiri. Pembahasan mengenai peran arsitektur dalam everyday life ini masih sangat minim. Hal ini karena ketidaksadaran manusia terhadap everyday life itu sendiri dan kurangnya kemampuan persepsi manusia menangkap detail sekelilingnya. Karena itu, diperlukan metode yang efektif untuk melihat overlooked architecture dan mendalami faktor pembentuknya. Dengan demikian, skripsi ini akan mengkaji the overlooked architecture lebih lanjut melalui sinema sebagai alat bantu kita melihat arsitektur dari perspektif everyday. Menggunakan sistem rhythmanalysis, pengkajian dilakukan dengan mengamati ritme yang terjadi pada film Still Walking (Kore-eda, 2008) yang menjadi studi kasus pada skripsi ini.

This thesis is focused on the overlooked architecture that can be defined as architectural elements that interact with humans’ activities within the everyday life with such high frequency it creates its own rhythm. The discussion surrounding architecture’s role as a subject within the everyday life is still very much the bare minimum. Humans’ unawareness to everyday life and the limit of our environment perception is to blame. That is the reason why we need an effective method to see through the overlooked architecture and to understand its origins. By that means, this thesis will study the overlooked architecture even deeper through the cinema lens to help us look at architecture from the perspective of everyday life. Using rhythmanalysis, this study is conducted to observe and analyse the rhythm within Still Walking (Kore-eda, 2008) — the film that will be used for the study case in this thesis."

"Tulisan ini menelusuri aspek temporalitas apa saja yang hadir dalam keseharian ruang urban dan bagaimana hal tersebut menghadirkan keberagaman pola yang membentuk lokalitas. Ritme keseharian dipengaruhi oleh pacemaker. Konsep waktu berbasis aktivitas, atau event-time pacemaker, menjelaskan bagaimana waktu diatur berdasarkan durasi suatu kegiatan. Tulisan ini mengobservasi Pasar Malam Pakaian Bekas Senen, Jakarta, Indonesia yang menggambarkan bagaimana ruang kota tertentu mewujudkan ritme temporal yang unik, sehingga memengaruhi fungsi dan rutinitas masyarakat lokal yang terbentuk. Lokalitas ruang kota merupakan hasil dari penggabungan ritme pada berbagai skala yang saling berinteraksi. Interaksi antar ritme yang berupa euritmia (harmoni) dan aritmia (konflik) melibatkan pengalaman tubuh dalam ruang dan waktu. Skripsi ini menelaah bagaimana ritme-ritme dalam tatanan urban terjadi dan relevansi rhythmanalysis sebagai alat untuk memahami dan membentuk hubungan dinamis antara waktu dan keseharian dalam masyarakat modern.

This study explores aspects of temporality in the daily lives of urban spaces and how they present a variety of patterns that shape locality. The rhythm of everyday life is influenced by pacemakers. The concept of activity-based time, or event-time pacemaker, explains how time is organized based on the duration of an activity. By examining the intricate relationship between time and locality, the research aims to uncover the rhythms that shape urban temporality and their impact on the lived experiences within urban environments. This paper observes the Pasar Malam Pakaian Bekas Senen, Jakarta, Indonesia which illustrates how certain urban spaces create unique temporal rhythms, thus influencing the functions and routines that occur. The locality of urban space is the result of a combination of rhythms in multiple scales that interact with each other. This interaction between local rhythms in the form of eurythmia (harmony) and arrythmia (conflict) that is influenced by the body experience in space and time. This thesis explains how rhythms in urban order occur and the relevance of rhythm analysis as a tool for understanding and forming the dynamic relationship between time and everyday life in modern society."
