"Tesis ini membahas tentang pelaksanaan business coaching yang dilakukan penulis dengan Smart Kid, UKM yang memproduksi mainan edukasi yang terbuat dari kayu. Tujuan utama dari tesis ini adalah pengembangan model bisnis lama menjadi model bisnis baru dengan fokus utama menyelesaikan permasalahan utama dari kegiatan bisnis UKM. Pengembangan model bisnis yang dilakukan adalah efisiensi proses produksi, manajemen sumber daya manusia, mengatasi permasalahan pada lingkungan kerja dan meningkatkan brand awareness pada masyarakat. Pengembangan ini bertujuan guna mengurangi tingkat keterlambatan produksi sehingga UKM dapat meningkatkan pangsa pasar. Hasil yang diperoleh dari tesis ini adalah model bisnis yang baru, efisiensi proses produksi sebesar 48%, standard operating procedure (SOP), sistem administrasi yang saling terintegrasi, perubahan sistem kompensasi, tindakan pengendalian keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja (K3), perubahan nama dan logo UKM, pembuatan website dan media sosial.

This thesis discusses about business coaching process conducted by writer and Smart Kid, SMEs that produce educational toys made of wood. The main objective of this thesis is the development of old business model into a new business model, with main focus to solve the major problem from SME business activities.

The business model development consists of production processes efficiency, human resource management, working environment and increase brand awareness. The purpose of the development is to reduce the production delay time, to enable SMEs to increase their market share.

The results of this thesis are new business model, production process efficiency about 48%, standard operating procedure, integrated administration system, changes of compensation system, health and safety preventive action, changes of brand name and logo, website and social media."

"Lean Thinking merupakan sebuah prinsip yang bertujuan untuk menghilangkan pemborosan (waste) yang diikuti oleh kemajuan dalam produktivitas proses. Prinsip Lean Thinking dapat dikombinasikan dengan metode Value Stream Mapping untuk meningkatkan efisiensi dari sebuah proses operasional yang ada pada perusahaan melalui eliminasi waste, termasuk masalah efisiensi proses inbound dan outbound pada gudang logistik berikat. Dengan kondisi peningkatan permintaan pada layanan logistik berikat dan ketatnya kompetisi, para perusahaan logistik berikat nyatanya belum memprioritaskan efisiensi proses yang ada pada pergudangan. Di sisi lain, proses pergudangan menjadi hal penting untuk diperhatikan terkait efisiensi waktunya. Diikuti dengan kondisi pada yang masih terjadi pemborosan (waste) yang cukup menghambat proses khususnya waste kategori waiting, transport, dan inappropriate processing. Oleh karena itu, digunakan metode Value Stream Mapping pada tahapan awal untuk memetakan proses maupun aktivitas operasional yang ada, lalu dilakukan analisis akar masalah yang terjadi menggunakan Ishikawa Diagram, kemudian diakhiri dengan penerapan Lean Thinking untuk dapat mewujudkan eliminasi pemborosan (waste) yang ada pada proses. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat rekomendasi Future State Map proses inbound hingga outbound barang dan merancang strategi implementasi perbaikan untuk mencapai prinsip lean. Dengan menggunakan Lean Thinking, Value Stream Mapping, dan Ishikawa Diagram didapatkan rancangan perbaikan pada proses untuk mengeliminasi pemborosan yang terjadi, yaitu penerapan SOP Technical, SOP Scheduling, dan Prinsip Lean 5S pada gudang. Hasil menunjukkan perbaikan process time yang berkurang sebesar 36%, lead time berkurang sebesar 39%, serta total waktu pemborosan (non-value added dan necessary but non-value added) berkurang 68%, dan efisiensi proses (value added ratio) proses pergudangan meningkat sebesar 21%.

Lean Thinking is a principle that aims to eliminate waste followed by progress in process productivity. The principle of Lean Thinking can be combined with the Value Stream Mapping method to increase the efficiency of an existing operational process in the company through waste elimination, including the problem of inbound and outbound process efficiency in bonded logistics warehouses. With the condition of increasing demand for bonded logistics services and intense competition, bonded logistics companies have in fact not prioritized the efficiency of existing processes in warehousing. On the other hand, the warehousing process is an important thing to consider regarding time efficiency. This is followed by conditions where waste still occurs which is quite hampering the process, especially waste in the categories of waiting, transport, and inappropriate processing. Therefore, the Value Stream Mapping method is used in the early stages to map existing processes and operational activities, then analyze the root problems that occur using the Ishikawa Diagram, then end with the application of Lean Thinking to be able to realize the elimination of waste in the process. . This study aims to make recommendations for the Future State Map of the inbound to outbound process of goods and to design improvement implementation strategies to achieve lean principles. By using Lean Thinking, Value Stream Mapping, and Ishikawa Diagrams, it is obtained the design of improvements to the process to eliminate waste that occurs, namely the application of Technical SOPs, Scheduling SOPs, and Lean 5S Principles in warehouses. The results show that the process time is reduced by 36%, the lead time is reduced by 39%, and the total waste time (non-value added and necessary but non-value added) is reduced by 68%, and the process efficiency (value added ratio) of the warehousing process is increased. by 21%."
