Abstrak :
Mahasiswa perantauan tahun pertama pada umumnya mengalami masalah penyesuaian diri terutama secara akademik. Salah satu prediktor kuat dari penyesuaian diri dalam situasi pembelajaran adalah efikasi diri akademik. Terdapat ketidakkonsistenan hasil penelitian-penelitian terdahulu mengenai hubungan efikasi diri akademik terhadap penyesuaian diri. Beberapa peneliti menemukan hubungan yang kuat, sementara peneliti lain menemukan hubungan dan pengaruh yang lemah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memeriksa peranan variabel moderator dalam hubungan efikasi diri akademik dan penyesuaian diri akademik yang peneliti perkirakan adalah orientasi tujuan berprestasi normatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain korelasional dengan uji hipotesis menggunakan analisis moderator model 1 Hayes. Berdasarkan uji hipotesis pada 296 partisipan, ditemukan bahwa orientasi tujuan berprestasi normatif memoderasi hubungan antara efikasi diri akademik dan penyesuaian diri akademik B = -0,09, SE = 0,04, p = 0,02. Peran moderasi orientasi tujuan berprestasi normatif adalah menurunkan hubungan antara efikasi diri akademik dan penyesuaian diri akademik pada mahasiswa perantauan tahun pertama. Fenomena big fish little pond turut dianalisis sebagai penyebab peran maladaptif orientasi tujuan berprestasi normatif.

1st year sojourner college students tend to experience adjustment problems academicly. One of the strong predictors of adjustment in learning situations is academic self-efficacy. Yet, there is inconsistency in previous research findings regarding the role of academic self-efficacy towards student adjustment. Some researchers find strong relationships and influences, while other researchers find weak relationships and influences. This inconcistency reflects the role of modearator variable between the two. Variable that has been tested in this research is normative achievement goal orientation. This study used correlational design with model 1 Hayes moderator analysis as hypothesis testing method. Based on hypothesis testing on 296 participants, this study proved that normative achievement goal orientation moderates the relationship between academic self-efficacy and college academic student adjustment B = -0,09, SE = 0,04, p = 0,02. The moderator role of normative achievement goal orientation is maladaptive since it diminished the relationship between academic self-efficacy and academic adjustment on first-year sojourner college students. The big fish little pond phenomenon analyzed as the cause of the maladaptive role of normative achievement goal orientation towards the two variables.
