"The aim of the research were to describe how salivary flow rate and pH vary with time during use of chewing and gustatory stimulation. Fifty young adult subjects collected unstimulated saliva by spitting method, and then collected stimulated saliva by chewing paraffin wax, and a few drops of citric acid are usually placed on the subjects tongue. The mean of saliva flow rate that unstimulated: 0.50 cc/minute; stimulated saliva by chewing paraffin wax:1.57 cc/minute, and drops of citric acid stimulation showed that saliva flow rate: 2.98 cc/minute; and pH saliva that unstimulated 6.39; stimulated saliva by chewing paraffin wax 7.2; and stimulated saliva by citric acid: 7.55. Statistical paired t test showed that t lower than t table. The conclusion of the research showed that there were significant influences in the unstimulated salivary flow rates and pH with stimulated saliva elicited by chewing and gustatory stimulation."

"Metode penelitian kualitatif secara luas telah digunakan dalam berbagai penelitian sosial termasuk sosiologi. Terdapat beberapa kesimpangsiuran dalam memahami metode kualitatif yang seringkali dianggap sebagai pelengkap dari metode kuantitatif. Penelitian pustaka ini ingin mendiskusikan beragam isu terkait dengan kelebihan dan kekurangan dalam metode penelitian kualitatif.Kami menyimpulkan bahwa metode kualitatif secara potensial dapat berguna dalam menyumbangkan pembangunan teori-teori ilmu sosial serta metodologi dalam konteks ke-Indonesiaan. Lebih dari itu, penggunaan metode penelitian kualitatif dapat membawa ilmu sosial khususnya sosiologi di Indonesia berada dalam posisi setara dalam dialog peradaban dengan sesama komunitas akademik di Barat.

Qualitative method has been widely be adopted in research practices in Indonesian tradition of social sciences including sociology. However, it seems there is misunderstanding on the method that is seen as additional to the quantitative one. This literature study intend to discuss related issues to the strengths and weaknesses of qualitative method.We do conclude here, that the method has productive potential for fostering the develomment of social theories as well as methodology in the context of Indonesian world. Hence, it is possible to bring Indonesian social sciences especially sociology into equal position of future dialog with the counterparts from the Western communities. "

"PT Telkom telah menerapkan system SDH (Synchronous Digital Hierarchy) dengan menggunakan serat optik sebagai media transmisinya. Adapun system SDH yang diaplikasikan telah menggunakan metode EEFO (Expansion and Extension Fiber Optic) dan Nothern Route Alcatel. Penggunaan kedua metode ini akan mempermudah PT Telkom dalam mengoperasikan layanan jaringan telekomunikasi dan keterbatasan akan kapasitas bandwidth yang digunakan. Tentunya kedua metode ini memiliki kelebihan dan kekurangan dalam penerapannya. Berkaitan dengan hal tersebut maka dalam penulisan skripsi ini akan dilakukan suatu Analisa cara kerja kedua metode tersebut.Analisis yang dilakukan adalah dengan mengumpulkan semua informasi baik dari perusahaan yang bersangkutan maupun melalui buku sebagai referensi teori. Metode yang dilakukan adalah studi kasus di PT Telkom. Pengolahan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan cara kerja kedua metode dan bagaimana penerapannya pada jaringan backbone di PT Telkom. Dari kedua metode yang digunakan oleh PT Telkom, northern route lebih baik dari segi kecepatan, kapasitas, dan penghubung jarak jauh dibandingkan dengan EEFO. PT Telkom dapat menerapkan kedua sistem tersebut disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan jangka panjang baik dari segi teknis maupun ekonomi.

PT Telkom have applied system SDH ( Synchronous Digital Hierarchy) by using optical fibre as transmission media. SDH system applies two method which are used EEFO method ( Expansion And Extension Fiber Optik) and Nothern Route Alcatel. Both of this method will be easy to be used by PT Telkom in operating service of telecommunications network and to overcome the limitation of capacities which is used. Both of this method have advantage and disadvantage which will be discussed in this paper.

Analysis is taken by collecting information from PT Telkom (case study) and also through various literatures. Data-Processing is done by comparing both of the method and how its implemented at the backbone network in PT Telkom. From both of these method, northern route method have better speed, capacities, and link of long distance than EEFO method. PT Telkom can apply both of this method for their future usage."
