This is the first book devoted entirely to total least squares. The authors give a unified presentation of the TLS problem. A description of its basic principles are given, the various algebraic, statistical and sensitivity properties of the problem are discussed, and generalizations are presented. Applications are surveyed to facilitate uses in an even wider range of applications. Whenever possible, comparison is made with the well-known least squares methods. A basic knowledge of numerical linear algebra, matrix computations, and some notion of elementary statistics is required of the reader; however, some background material is included to make the book reasonably self-contained.

Abstrak :
In the 1820s Gauss published two memoirs on least squares, which contain his final, definitive treatment of the area along with a wealth of material on probability, statistics, numerical analysis, and geodesy. These memoirs, originally published in Latin with German Notices, have been inaccessible to the English-speaking community. Here for the first time they are collected in an English translation. For scholars interested in comparisons the book includes the original text and the English translation on facing pages. More generally the book will be of interest to statisticians, numerical analysts, and other scientists who are interested in what Gauss did and how he set about doing it. An Afterword by the translator, G. W. Stewart, places Gauss's contributions in historical perspective.

ABSTRAK
Sektor jasa keuangan memiliki peranan yang penting dalam perekonomian suatu negara. Di Indonesia, salah satu sub sektor jasa keuangan yang memiliki pengaruh penting adalah sektor perbankan yang memegang 74% total aset dari sektor jasa keuangan. Sehingga profitabilitas dari sektor perbankan penting untuk diperhatikan sebab profitabilitas merupakan salah satu tolak ukur untuk melihat kinerja dari sektor perbankan. Penelitian ini menggunakan data sekunder berupa laporan keuangan dari 25 bank yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia sejak tahun 2007-2016. Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) dengan fixed effect digunakan sebagai alatdalam menganalisis data. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa faktor internal yang terdiri dari tingkat efisiensi bank, risiko kredit bank, pangsa pasar, dan diversifikasi perusahaan memiliki hubungan yang negatif dan kapitalisasi serta tingkat permintaan memiliki hubungan yang positif terhadap profitabilitas sektor perbankan. Sedangkan faktor eksternal yang terdiri dari pertumbuhan produk domestik bruto memiliki hubungan yang positif dan tingkat inflasi serta tingkat pajak efektif memiliki hubungan yang negatif terhadap profitabilitas sektor perbankan.
ABSTRACT
The financial services sector plays an important role in the economy of a country. In Indonesia, one of the important financial services sub-sectors is the banking sector which holds 74% total assets of the financial services sector. With the result that the profitability of the bank becomes a benchmark whether the bank performs its function properly. This study uses secondary data from financial statements of 25 banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange since 2007-2016. Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) with fixed effect is used as a tool in analyzing data. The results of this study indicate that internal factors consisting of bank efficiency, credit risk, market share, and diversification of companies have a negative relationship and capitalization and demand levels have a positive relationship to the profitability of the banking sector. While external factors consisting of gross domestic product growth have positive relationship and inflation rate and effective tax rate have negative relation to profitability of banking sector.

ABSTRAK
Knowledge sharing adalah interaksi antarindividu untuk berbagi pengetahuan untuk berbagi pengalaman terkait pekerjaan, prosedur melakukan pekerjaan, dan informasi kontekstual secara formal maupun informal di dalam organisasi maupun antar organisasi. Aktivitas berbagi informasi dan pengetahuan sangat penting untuk menunjang kegiatan dan pelaksanaan tugas di organisasi. BICC PT XL Axiata telah memiliki suatu web portal sebagai sarana berbagi informasi dan pengetahuan untuk masing-masing departemen yang dapat dikustomisasi dan dikelola secara internal di setiap departemen sejak tahun 2011. Namun hingga saat ini pengguna yang aktif di web portal departemen BICC PT XL Axiata hanya berkisar empat sampai lima pengguna aktif tiap bulannya, dan hanya tiga karyawan yang aktif berkontribusi mengisi artikel dan mengunggah dokumen penting ke web portal. Hal ini tentu berisiko terhadap keberlangsungan penyebaran pengetahuan di departemen BICC. Ditambah lagi dengan keadaan seringnya pergantian pegawai dikarenakan pegawai pindah ke tim atau perusahaan lain. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kemampuan berbagi pengetahuan pegawai di BICC PT XL Axiata. Penulis melakukan studi teoritis mengenai kemampuan individu untuk berbagi pengetahuan untuk membangun kerangka penelitian yang terdiri dari dua belas faktor yang terbagi menjadi empat kategori, yaitu individu, struktur organisasi, budaya organisasi, dan penggunaan IT. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode kuantitatif dan dilakukan pengujian menggunakan Partial Least Squares. Hasil dari penelitian ini, faktor-faktor yang terbukti berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan pegawai untuk berbagi pengetahuan yaitu Performance-based Reward, Personality, Knowledge Self-efficacy, dan Perceived of Usefulness.
ABSTRACT
Knowledge sharing is both formal and informal interaction between individuals to share knowledge, work related experiences, work procedures, and contextual information within organization and between organizations. Information sharing and knowledge sharing behavior are essential to support the activities and tasks in organization. BICC department in PT XL Axiata has had a web portal as a tools of sharing information and knowledge since 2011. However, active users in the web portal of BICC PT XL Axiata only range from four to five active users per month, and only three employees actively contribute articles and upload important documents to the web portal. This poses a risk to the continuous knowledge dissemination and knowledge management in the BICC department. Furthermore, BICC has a high turnover of employees. Based on these problems, this study aims to find out the factors that affect the ability to share knowledge of employees at BICC PT XL Axiata. A theoretical study was conducted to build a research framework consisting of twelve factors divided into four categories, namely individual, organizational structure, organizational culture, and IT usage. The data was collected using quantitative method and tested using Partial Least Squares. The results of this study, the factors that affect the ability of employees to share knowledge that is Performance based Reward, Personality, Knowledge Self efficacy, and Perceived of Usefulness.

The method of least squares was discovered by Gauss in 1795. It has since become the principal tool to reduce the influence of errors when fitting models to given observations. Today, applications of least squares arise in a great number of scientific areas, such as statistics, geodetics, signal processing, and control. In the last 20 years there has been a great increase in the capacity for automatic data capturing and computing. Least squares problems of large size are now routinely solved. Tremendous progress has been made in numerical methods for least squares problems, in particular for generalized and modified least squares problems and direct and iterative methods for sparse problems. Until now there has not been a monograph that covers the full spectrum of relevant problems and methods in least squares. This volume gives an in-depth treatment of topics such as methods for sparse least squares problems, iterative methods, modified least squares, weighted problems, and constrained and regularized problems. The more than 800 references provide a comprehensive survey of the available literature on the subject.

Penelitian terkait employee engagement terus berkembang dewasa ini karena diyakini bahwa tingkat engagement karyawan akan berdampak kepada performa organisasi. Namun, tingkat employee engagement pada generasi millennial sangat rendah, padahal generasi ini akan mendominasi 50% posisi kerja secara global pada tahun 2020. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh atas faktor pekerjaan, lingkungan kerja, gaya kepemimpinan, kesempatan untuk berkembang, dan kesempatan berkontribusi, terhadap tingkat employee engagement pada generasi millennial. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif yang menggunakan metorde survey terhadap objek penelitian yaitu karyawan millennial di PT Samudera Indonesia, sebanyak 400 sempel. Sebagai metode analisis penelitian ini menggunakan Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) untuk melihat model yang terbentuk atas faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi employee engagement pada generasi millennial. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa terdapat model dari hubungan antara faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi dengan employee engagement. Faktor yang memiliki pengaruh langsung dalam meningkatkan employee engagement adalah lingkungan kerja, pekerjaan, dan kesempatan untuk berkembang. Sedangkan untuk faktor kepemimpinan mempengaruhi employee engagement secara tidak langsung, dan faktor kesempatan berkontribusi tidak mempengaruhi employee engagement. ......Many research show that employee engagement have positive influence on business performance. However, the employee engagement among millennials is lower than the previous generation whereas this generation will dominate 50% the world workforce in 2020. This research aims to confirm a model of factors than influencing employee engagement, that is the work itself, working environment, leadership, opportunity for personal growth, and opportunity to contribute. Using survey, the sample is 400 millennial employees of PT Samudera Indonesia. This research uses Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) as a tool to analyze the data. As the result this research, work environment, work it-self, and opportunity for personal growth have direct impact to employee engagement. Leadership has indirect impact to employee engagement, and opportunity to contribute doesn’t have impact to employee engagement.

ABSTRAK

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami pola people follow jobs atau pola jobs follow people yang terjadi di Indonesia Barat dan Indonesia Timur. Pola tersebut digambarkan melalui hubungan timbal balik antara migrasi masuk dengan jumlah orang bekerja di masing-masing kota kabupaten di kedua region tersebut dengan metode estimasi Two Stage Least Squares (2SLS). Kesimpulan penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa pola people follow jobs lebih dominan terjadi dibandingkan pola jobs follow people baik di Indonesia Barat dan Indonesia Timur.


ABSTRACT

This research aim to understand the pattern of whether people follow jobs or jobs follow people which occur in Western and Eastern part of Indonesia. The pattern is described by causal relationship between in migration and number of employed people in each city or district in those regions using Two Stage Least Squares estimation method. The result of this paper shows that effect of people follow jobs is more dominant compared to jobs follow people effect in both regions.

Kesehatan mental menjadi salah satu permasalahan yang terjadi pada masyarakat di daerah perkotaan. Akses terhadap ruang terbuka hijau memiliki dampak yang positif terhadap kesehatan mental masyarakat di perkotaan. Salah satu bentuk dari ruang terbuka hijau yang dapat diakses oleh masyarakat di daerah perkotaan adalah taman. Hingga tahun 2021, Provinsi DKI Jakarta telah memiliki 2.556 ruang terbuka hijau dengan 1.446 di antaranya adalah taman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor yang signifikan terhadap minat pengunjung untuk berkunjung ke taman di wilayah perkotaan dan karakteristik pengunjung yang berkunjung ke taman di wilayah perkotaan dengan Tebet Eco Park sebagai studi kasus. Faktor-faktor yang diduga signifikan menjelaskan minat pengunjung untuk datang ke Tebet Eco Park adalah jenis kelamin, usia, moda transportasi, daerah tempat tinggal, rekan berkunjung, tujuan berkunjung, aksesibilitas taman, fasilitas taman, estetika taman, dan suasana taman. Metode statistik yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode Partial Least Square (PLS) dan Analisis Korespondensi. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa terdapat tiga variabel yang signifikan terhadap minat berkunjung yaitu variabel aksesibilitas taman, estetika taman, dan suasana taman. Temuan lainnya adalah bahwa pengunjung yang memiliki minat berkunjung tinggi menganggap bahwa aksesibilitas taman, estetika taman, dan suasana taman merupakan hal yang penting, sedangkan pengunjung yang memiliki minat berkunjung rendah menganggap bahwa estetika taman dan suasana taman merupakan hal yang tidak penting. ......Mental health is one of the problems that occur in people in urban areas. Access to green open space has a positive impact on the mental health of people in urban areas. Parks are a form of green open space in urban areas that can be accessed by the public. Until 2021, DKI Jakarta Province has 2,556 green open spaces with 1,446 of them being parks. This study aims to analyze the factors that are significant to the interest of visitors to visit parks in urban areas and the characteristics of visitors who visiting parks in urban areas with the Tebet Eco Park as a case study. The factors that are thought significantly explain the interest of visitors to come to Tebet Eco Park are gender, age, mode of transportation, area of residence, visiting partners, purpose of visiting, park accessibility, park facilities, park aesthetics, and park atmosphere. The statistical method used in this study is the Partial Least Square (PLS) method and the Correspondence Analysis. The results of this study indicate that there are three variables that are significant to interest in visiting, namely the variables of park accessibility, garden aesthetics, and park atmosphere. Another finding is that in this study it was shown that visitors who have a high interest in visiting consider that the accessibility of the park, the aesthetics of the park, and the atmosphere of the park are important. Meanwhile, visitors who have a low interest in visiting consider that the aesthetics of the park and the atmosphere of the park are unimportant.
