"In the period of 2004 to 2014 there was a significant growth of employment in the logistics sector in Indonesia. This reflects a rapid rise in the need for logistics activities to support outsourcing. Because there is strong competition in the sector, logistics services should be able to deliver both cognitive and affective customer satisfaction. Studies in logistic services have been mainly focused on service gaps, an aspect related to cognitive satisfaction in customers. Many studies have been conducted to evaluate logistics service quality using SERVQUAL and the Kano model. However, these are insufficient in addressing all aspects of logistics provision. Hence, a deep understanding of customer affective need (known in Japanese as Kansei) is required, to provide competitive advantage by modeling more comprehensive customer experiences based on perceived logistics services. This paper proposes a combined model of Kansei Engineering, Kano, and quality function deployment (QFD), which it is hoped will generate more innovative ideas for improvements related to customer emotional satisfaction and customer delight. A case study in supporting logistics services has been chosen to validate the proposed model, and a survey through face-to-face questionnaires involving 157 customers was carried out. The model was then validated, and through the House of Quality (HoQ) concept, some innovative improvement ideas are proposed. They include the use of apps for order confirmation and cancellation, the integration of Google Maps into the ordering system, pre-order booking, and a bilingual feature in the transaction menu. Thus, from a practical implication point of view, it is hoped that this study will provide guidelines to the managers of logistics services companies in capturing, measuring and analyzing customer emotional needs (Kansei), with respect to the service attributes which are highly significant to Kansei aspects."

"ABSTRACT
Means of public health is a component in accelerating the improvement of public health degree. Hospitals as health facilities have a very strategic role in providing quality services in accordance with established standards and can reach the whole community. One installation that needs improvement is the quality of instalasai Hemodialysis. The number of patients is increasing every year must be accompanied by improvement of quality of service installation. Based on observations, there were some complaints of patients on hemodialysis installation services. This study intends to improve the quality of care in hemodialysis installations by crafting needs hemodialysis machine design using Kansei Engineering, as well as the application of Quality Function Deployment (QFD) and TRIZ. Kansei Engineering is used to ensure that a service fulfills the desired emotional response. Subsequently used QFD to improve customer satisfaction by improving the quality of services installation hemodialysis. Results of QFD point to contradictions, namely repair and maintenance service of the machine with the alert medics and repair and maintenance of the machine with the cleanliness and comfort of installation. The results showed that the installation of Hemodialysis ABSTRAK
Patients in fact want a friendly atmosphere of doctors, nurses, and the reception clerk and the condition of hemodialysis machines and devices work properly."

"The fulfilment of customers’ emotional needs (Kansei in Japanese) tends to be highly expected, especially in growing industries such as the service industry. Recent research shows that emotion is just as important as cognition in service-related encounters. Thus, service providers should not overlook the significant roles of both emotional and cognitive aspects in achieving service excellence for customers. In modeling how to capture and translate customers’ emotional needs into services, Kansei Engineering (KE) is used. This study aims to integrate Kansei Engineering with the Kano model and the Theory of Inventive Problem Solving (TRIZ). The Kano model is used to identify the relationship between service attribute performance and customer satisfaction, whereas TRIZ is utilized subsequently to generate designs for improvement with the lowest contradiction between the proposed service design solutions. Due to relatively unexplored cultural differences in Kansei research, cultural factors are also considered and incorporated into the integrated model. It is hoped that further insight into the emotional needs of customers from different cultural backgrounds will be better understood, so that the improvement strategies will be suitable. In addition, to illustrate the applicability of the integrated model, an empirical study in a medium-sized restaurant that takes into account both Indonesian and non-Indonesian customers will be discussed."

"The proportion of people with diabetes in Indonesia is 6.9%, of whom, 90% suffer from type 2 diabetes. To control diabetes, the International Diabetes Foundation has a self-monitoring blood glucose program (SMBG) that is designed to gather detailed information about blood glucose, which can be used to define the required dietary and physical activity. In Indonesia, SMBGs have not been applied widely due to some difficulties with the SMBG application, including difficulty with interpreting blood glucose levels and the required food consumption. The rapid development of smartphones and the internet in recent years may provide a solution for SMBG applications in Indonesia. Therefore, the aim of this research is to design an SMBG application that meets the needs of people with diabetes. In designing the application, the Kansei Engineering method was used due to its ability to capture impressions of the product that reflect hidden needs. Kansei Engineering was applied to translate the patient’s perception into design elements. Statistical analysis – particularly Factor Analysis and Partial Least Squares Analysis – were used to support the Kansei Engineering method. Statistical analysis indicated that four main design components needed to be considered in the design, including ‘data record persistence’, ‘ease of use’, ‘data presentation’, and ‘visual attractiveness’. These four components were used as the basic design concepts, which were transferred to new design specifications based on Partial Least Squares Analysis. The selected design elements (or premium Kansei) were ‘color scheme – light’, ‘language – Bahasa’, and ‘input dialog – typing’. The result of this research is a design for an SMBG android-based application that is easy to use and also provides appropriate information to patients with diabetes so they can plan their diet program."

"As the imbalance of automotive market competition continues, the domination of foreign industries demands a proper attention from Indonesia’s automobile manufacturers. Efforts in creating a national car design that is emotionally attached to Indonesia’s automotive market, will be able to meet the challenge appropriately, in part by using the Kansei Engineering Type 1: Category Classification method. Identified through literature studies and interviews, there are 164 Kansei words that represent the exterior designs of a 4×2-wheel drive passenger car. The Kansei words were categorized into 12 groups using an affinity diagram and then arranged into a five-level semantic differential scale for product samples assessment. Results were further processed using factor analysis, leaving nine groups remaining. A collaborative design process with a product designer resulted in an exterior design of a hatchback car with four doors. Scores from the evaluation on Kansei word groups “satisfying”, “luxurious”, “sporty”, “aesthetic”, “innovative”, “mobile/flexible”, “complicated/complex”, “credible”, and “masculine” indicate that the car exterior design meets users’ emotional needs."
