Abstrak :
Mesir merupakan wilayah yang terdiri dari berbagai agama sehingga dibutuhkan sikap toleransi agar tercipta kerukunan antar masyarakat. Toleransi ini tentunya harus didukung dengan komunikasi yang tepat antara individu satu dengan yang lainnya. Untuk mencapai komunikasi yang tepat tersebut, terdapat tahapan-tahapan yang harus dilalui agar tercipta komunikasi yang baik dan integratif. Penelitian tentang komunikasi antarbudaya masyarakat Muslim dan Kristen dalam Film Hassan dan Marcus ini akan menyajikan hasil analisis dari pola-pola komunikasi yang terjadi antara masyarakat Muslim dan Kristen Mesir yang digambarkan dalam film tersebut. Tujuannya adalah untuk memahami pola komunikasi antarmasyarakat Muslim dan Kristen dalam satu lingkungan sehingga akan terlihat cara-cara komunikasi yang baik dalam mencapai persatuan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu deskriptif-kualitatif yang didukung dengan teori pola-pola komunikasi antarbudaya menurut Wahlstrom. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dalam film ini terdapat tiga pola komunikasi antara Muslim dan Kristen yang sangat dinamis sehingga disatu sisi dapat menjadi peluang perdamaian namun disisi lainnya dapat menjadi potensi konflik. ......Egypt is a region consisting of various of religions so that tolerance needed in order to create harmony between communities. This tolerance must be supported by proper communication between one communities and others. Thus, to achieve that proper communication, there are stages that must be passed in order to create a good and intregative communication. This research on intercultural communication of Muslim and Christian communities in the Hassan and Marcus movie will present the result of the analysis of the communication stages or pattern that occur between Muslim and Christian depicted in the movie. The aim is to understand the pattern of communication between Muslim and Christian communities in one environment so that good ways of communication will be seen in achieving unity. The method that used in this research is descriptive-qualitative which is supported by the theory of intercultural communication patterns according to B.J. Wahlstrom. The result of this research indicate that there are three communication patterns between Muslim and Christian communities that very dynamic so that in the one hand it can lead to ongoing divisions but on the other hand it can be an opportunity for peace between religious conflict.

Abstrak :
This article elaborates the concept of 'intercultural dialogue," which is often posed as an alternate solution to ongoing international conflicts. Intercultural dialogue seeks its way to end violence by tracing and deconstructing false perceptions among hostile entities. Bearing in mind that intercultural dialogue is extremely complex, in avoiding the possibility of turning it into mere propaganda, terms of intercultural dialogue need to be defined. Several critical notes are pointed here. Firstly, communication is not a linear process. Secondly, it needs to be conducted in an open system. Thirdly, communication has to be carried out simultaneously on multiple levels to enable participation from various actors. Fourthly, communication should be conducted with the 'right entities,' those who need to be engaged in a dialogue the most but are often neglected (based on the perception that they are hard to communicate with).
