Abstrak :
Addresses the rise of China and its impacts on Southeast Asia's economies and businesses, especially on those of ethnic Chinese. Also discusses Southeast Asian government policies, particularly their economic and business policies, towards local Chinese, and Southeast Asian Chinese businesses, both conglomerates and SMEs, in an era of globalization.

Abstrak :
Pada tahun 2002 China dan ASEAN menandatangani kerangka perjanjian kerjasama ekonomi komprehensif antara China dan ASEAN yang menjadi dasar dari China ASEAN Free Trade Area. Permasalahan pada penelitian ini adalah untuk menjawab pertanyaan bagaimanakah dampak-dampak perekonomian yang terjadi antara China dan Asean setelah implementasi perjanjian Free Trade Area, setelah melakukan integrasi ekonomi dan juga "Early Harvest" program didalamnya, apakah akan ada trade surplus ataupun ada trade defisit. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode analisis deskriptif dan juga melalui metode dokumentasi yang berdasarkan dokumen dokumen yang dikeluarkan oleh instansi terkait. Pada akhirnya penelitian ini terlihat bahwa kerjasama antara China dan ASEAN membawa dampak positif bagi neraca perdagangan diantara kedua negara tersebut, dan program Early Harvest cukup berhasil di beberapa sektor.

The China-ASEAN Free Trade Agreement has been hailed as a landmark pact in pushing for freer trade between China and the ASEAN countries.With the establishment of the free trade zone, trade and investment between the Chinese and ASEAN economies are expected to increase significantly. In November 2002, China and ASEAN signed the framework agreement on comprehensive economic co-operation between China and Association of South East Asian Nations, which determined the basic structure of China ASEAN Free Trade. The purpose of this research is to try to answer how the economy effects will affect after the implementation of framework of agreement on free trade area in that region, after the economic integration and how will the early harvest program effecting the balance sheet of each respectful country, will there be a trade surplus or trade deficit. This research uses the document research as the study method as well as the descriptive analytic methods based on the documents from related institution. At the end of the research, this research suggests that the China and ASEAN economic cooperation brought positive effect to balance of payments on both countries and the early harvest program is quite successful in certain area.

Tesis ini bertujuan meneliti pengaruh pertumbuhan ekonomi negara China terhadap harga minyak dunia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode ekonometrika Ordinary Least Square (OLS). Data dikumpulkan dari tahun l999:4 - 2008:1. Study ini juga diperkaya beberapa survey literature. Dari hasil penelitian yang dilakukan malta dapat disimpulkan bahwa pertumbuhan ekonomi China mempunyai pengaruh terhadap barga minyak dunia rneskipun elastisitasnya lebih kecil dibandingkan unity (inelastic). Sebagai tambahan diketahui juga bahwa nilai tukar China dan lconsumsi minyak duniajuga mempunyai pcngaruh yang signifiltan.

The study is aimed to investigate the impact of China's economic growth on world oil price. This study employ econometric method with Ordinary Least Square (OLS). The data were collected from l999:4 - 2008:] . This study is also enriched by some literature survey. This study conclude that the economic of China affect the world oil price evcnthough the elasticity is less than unity (inelastic). In addition, the exchange mte and the world oil consumption also affect significantly.
