Road accident is a leading problem in Indonesia that increases every year. Based on previous studies, mental fatigue is one of the biggest sources of road accident, that is majorly affected by mental workload. Driving duration is one of factors that triggers mental fatigue. Previous literature stated that Electroencephalogram (EEG) measurement is a gold standard to measure fatigue. However, there was limited study that addressing EEG indicators that affected by driving duration, and the previous research still had disagreements regarding the best EEG parameter to measure fatigue. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate driving duration effect towards EEG fluctuation and determine the best EEG parameter related to fatigue. Seven participants were asked three hours driving in medium fidelity simulator. One-way ANOVA and correlation analysis were performed on the analysis to measure the effect of driving duration towards EEG indicator and determine the correlation of indicator. Receiver Operating Characteristics (ROC) curve was also utilized to determine the best variable that correlates with subjective sleepiness indices. The results showed that in the end of 3 hours driving, there was an increment of delta and theta activities, followed by decrement of alpha and beta activities. In addition, the correlation of all bands were significant, with positive result of alpha-beta band and theta-delta band, and negative result towards each other. Furthermore, results from Receiver Operating Characteristics (ROC) curve showed that RPR of theta, RPR of alpha, and ratio of ?/?+? as the best indicators among others, that had accuracy of high degree (above 85%).

Kelelahan pada pengemudi adalah salah satu penyebab utama kecelakaan di jalan raya. Pengemudi truk skid-tank LPG adalah salah satu pekerjaan yang berisiko mengalami kelelahan karena memiliki durasi kerja yang panjang, durasi mengemudi yang panjang dan faktor lainnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor ndash; faktor risiko kelelahan seperti shift kerja, durasi mengemudi, durasi lembur, situasi jalan, kuntitas tidur, waktu terjaga, dan commuting time pada pengemudi truk skid-tank LPG PT. X tahun 2017. Desain studi cross-sectional digunakan dalam penelitian ini, menggunakan kuesioner The Checklist of Individual Strengts sebagai instrumen untuk mengukur kelelahan. Sebanyak 87 pengemudi truk skid-tank LPG PT. X diwawancarai pada Maret 2017. Hasil analisis univariat menunjukkan 24,1 pengemudi mengalami kelehan. Hasil analisis bivariat menunjukkan adanya hubungan yang bermakna ?=0,05 antara durasi mengemudi nilai p=0,046 dan waktu terjaga nilai p=0,017 terhadap kelelahan. Pengemudi yang mengalami kelelahan memiliki durasi mengemudi dan waktu-terjaga yang lebih panjang dibandingkan pengemudi yang tidak menalami kelelahan. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa durasi mengemudi dan waktu-terjaga yang panjang berhubungan dengan meningkatnya risiko kelelahan pada pengemudi truk skid-tank LPG. Tindakan perbaikan diperlukan untuk mengendalikan jam kerja yang panjang dan kualitas dan kuantitas tidur yang buruk untuk memperbaiki derajat keselamatan dan kesehatan di tempat kerja.
Driver fatigue is one of the main causes of road accident. Truck driver is one of many job that susceptible experiencing fatigue because of the long work hour, long driving hour, and other factors. This study is aimed to analyze fatigue risk factors such as work shift, driving hours, overtime duration, road condition, sleep quantity, time ndash awake, and commuting time among LPG skid tank truck driver at PT. X 2017. This study design is cross sectional and using The Checlist of Individual Strength as instrument for measuring fatigue. Total 87 LPG Skid Tank Drivers are interviewed during March 2017. Univariate analysis results shows that 24,1 of driver experienced fatigue. Bivariate analysis results shows that driving duration p value 0,046 and time ndash awake p value 0,017 are signifantly associated with driver fatigue. The drivers that experiencing fatigue has longer driving duration and longer time ndash awake than the drivers that was not. This study suggests that long driving duration and time awake are associated with increased risk of fatigue. Corrective action is needed to manage excessive work hours and poor sleep to improve safety and health at the workplace.
