"Artikel ini membahas mengenai upaya yang dilakukan oleh masyarakat marjinal kampung kota untuk dapat terlibat dalam perencanaan dan pembangunan kota. Studi-studi sebelumnya terbagi menjadi tiga jenis berdasarkan bentuknya, yaitu studi mengenai upaya keterlibatan melalui aksi di ruang publik, upaya keterlibatan melalui kebijakan legislasi dan upaya keterlibatan publik melalui media sosial. Berbeda dengan studi-studi sebelumnya, studi ini berfokus pada bagaimana upaya kontrak politik yaitu community action plan dapat menjadi upaya alternatif kelompok masyarakat marjinal untuk terlibat dalam perencanaan dan pembangunan kota yang menekankan pada proses masyarakat marjinal kampung kota untuk ikut serta dalam proses perencanaan dan pembangunan kampungnya, dimana setiap individu memiliki peran aktif untuk terlibat dalam menyuarakan aspirasinya. Studi ini secara khusus menggambarkan keterlibatan publik kelompok masyarakat marjinal di Kampung Akuarium kota Jakarta yang dilihat menggunakan pendekatan civic engagement. Studi ini menggunakan metode kualitatif serta pengumpulan data yang dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam.

This article discusses the efforts made by marginal urban villagers to be involved in urban planning and development. Previous studies are divided into three types based on their forms; the study of engagement through public action, through legislation and public engagement through social media. In contrast to previous studies, this study focuses on how political contracts through community action planning can be an alternative effort of marginalized groups to engage in urban planning and development. This political contract emphasizes the process of marginal urban villagers to participate in the village planning and development process where each individual has an active role to engage in voicing his aspirations through political contracts with political actors. This study specifically illustrates the public involvement of marginalized community groups in Kampung Akuarium Jakarta using a civic engagement approach. This study uses qualitative methods as well as data collection conducted through in-depth interviews."

"Penelitian ini membahas identifikasi dan pengungkapan makna pesan yang terkandung dalam posting pada akun instagram Gubernur Jawa Barat 2018 Ridwan Kamil dengan nama akun @ridwankamil. Penelitian ini mengambil waktu pada masa kampanye Pemilihan Gubernur Jawa Barat 2018 yang dimenangkan oleh Ridwan Kamil. Penelitian ini menggunakan paradigma kritis dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Strategi yang digunakan adalah multi-strategi yaitu visual content analysis dan visual communication. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa posting yang dibuat oleh akun @ridwankamil memiliki kecenderungan untuk menyampaikan posting dengan coding yang identik dengan personal selling dari sosok Ridwan Kamil (official dan personalized). Melalui strategi visual communication terlihat bahwa akun @ridwankamil cenderung menggunakan sosok orang lain dan berada dalam posisi minoritas untuk digunakan sebagai kendaraan bagi Ridwan Kamil untuk mendapatkan engagement. Selain itu akun @ridwankamil juga menggunakan kelemahan yang dimiliki oleh seseorang untuk digunakan dalam mengangkat citra, menggunakan kesadaran palsu untuk menarik engagement dari publik,  reclaim terhadap suatu prestasi dan eksploitasi kemanusiaan untuk mendapatkan engagement.

This research discusses the identification and disclosure about  the meaning of the message contained in the instagram posting of West Java Governor Instagram account Ridwan Kamil. This research took place during the campaign period for the 2018 West Java Gubernatorial Election won by Ridwan Kamil. This study uses a critical paradigm with a qualitative approach. The strategy used is multi-strategy namely visual content analysis and visual communication. The results indicated that the posts made by the @ridwankamil had a tendency to submit posts with coding that was identical to the personal selling of the figure of Ridwan Kamil (official and personalized). Through strategy visual communication, it can be seen that the @ridwankamil account tends to use other people's figures and their minority position to be used as a vehicle for Ridwan Kamil to get engagement. In addition, the @ridwankamil also uses weaknesses that are owned by someone to be used in lifting the image, using false awareness to attract engagement from the public, reclaiming an achievement and exploitation of humanity to get engagement. "

"Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menjelaskan civic engagement dan digital citizenship pada ranah pendidikan berbasis komunitas virtual. Dalam penelitian-penelitian sebelumnya, kegiatan seperti itu merupakan bagian dari program institusi pendidikan formal. Tujuannya adalah untuk mempermudah siswa dalam mengikuti proses pembelajaran dengan menggunakan media sosial. Untuk memperkaya penelitian-penelitian sejenis, peneliti berargumen bahwa komunitas virtual dapat menyelenggarakan edukasi daring secara mandiri tanpa menjadi bagian dari program institusi pendidikan formal sebagai ruang alternatif pembelajaran daring di luar sistem komodifikasi pendidikan. Penyelenggaraan tersebut bersifat egaliter, inklusif, dan anti-kapitalis. Hal ini masih berkaitan dengan prinsip socialist community design, civic engagement, dan digital citizenship suatu kalangan untuk menggerakkan massa mewujudkan alternatif pendidikan yang ideal sehingga menjadi utopia nyata bagi warga sipil. Perwujudan utopia tersebut sedari awal berlandaskan teknologi digital guna meminimalisir batasan, nyatanya masih memiliki sejumlah kendala dari pihak kapitalis dan negara. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan kasus Komunitas Ensiklopedia Bebas ID (EBID). Data dalam penelitian ini diperoleh melalui wawancara mendalam para pengurus komunitas tersebut, serta pengamatan pada berbagai konten dan beberapa program yang dijalankan oleh divisi komunitas

The aim of this study is to explain civic engagement and digital citizenship in the realm of virtual community-based education. In previous studies, such activities are part of the formal educational institution program. The goal is to brough easier ways for students to follow the learning process using social media. To enrich similar studies, researchers argue that virtual communities can carry out online education independently without being part of formal educational institution programs as an alternative space for online learning outside the educational commodification system. The implementation is egalitarian, inclusive, and anti-capitalist. This is still related to the principles of socialist community design, civic engagement, and digital citizenship of a party to mobilize the masses to realize an ideal educational alternative so it could become a real utopia for civilians. The realization of this utopia from the start was based on digital technology in order to minimize boundaries, in fact, it still has many obstacles from the capitalist side and the state. This paper uses qualitative approach with the case of Ensiklopedia Bebas ID (EBID) community. Data in this study gained by in-depth interview from people who run the community, along with observation on various content and several programs that was held by their division.

Rather than engaging as public-spirited stewards of civic life, the book argues that homeowners often engage in local politics as a way to protect their property values. This civic engagement, the book argues, contributes to the politics of exclusion. It keeps particular citizens from gaining access to high-opportunity neighborhoods and reinforces patterns of residential segregation. It often marginalizes renters from participation in public life, and it equates property values with the common good. Through an analysis of the politics of homeownership, this book asks readers to reconsider the power of homeownership to strengthen citizenship and build better communities."

"Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan rendahnya keterlibatan netizen pada media sosial Instagram@bnn_cegahnarkoba. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis isi konten, keterlibatan netizen dan merekomendasikan strategi dalam meningkatkan keterlibatan netizen pada media sosial instagram @bnn_cegahnarkoba.Teori utama yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori civic engagement, didukung dengan teori Ketahanan Nasional, teori kampanye sosial, teori komunikasi persuasif, teori media sosial,teori analisis isi dan teori fungsi komunikasi massa.Metode penelitian menggunakan mixed methods (sekuensial eksplanatory), tahap pertama dilakukanpendekatan kuantitatif analisis isi kemudian tahap kedua dilakukan pendekatan kualitatif dengan wawancara. Objek penelitian ini adalah pada 64 konten pada instagram @bnn_cegahnarkoba (oktober-desember 2018). Instrumen analisis isi terdiri dari informasi, edukasi, persuasi rasional dan persuasi emosional. Teknik analisis data pada analisis isi kuantitatif berupa analisis deskriptif, analisis hubungan antar kategori dengan Pearson Correlations dananalisis bedaselanjutnya analisis data kualitatif.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Isi konten pada media sosial @bnn_cegahnarkoba adalah berupa konten informasi sebesar 84, 4% dan konten peruasi emosional sebesar 15, 6 %. Konten persuasi emosional berkorelasi positif pada keterlibatan aktif netizen sehingga strategi yang perlu dilakukan yaitu meningkatkan konten persuasi emosional agar keterlibatan netizen dapat meningkat.

This research is motivated by the problem of lack of involvement of netizens on social media Instagram @ bnn _cegahnarkoba. The purpose of this study was to analyze the content, the involvement of netizens and recommend strategies to increase the involvement of netizens on social media instagram @bnn_cegahnarkoba.The main theory used in this research is the theory of civic engagement, supported by the national security theory, the theory of social campaigns, persuasive communication theory, theory of social media, content analysis theory and the theory of mass communication functions.The research method using mixed methods (sequential explanatory), first stage of quantitative content analysis approach then the second stage qualitative approach with interviews. The object of this study is on the 64 content on instagram @bnn_cegahnarkoba (October-December 2018). The instrument consists of a content analysis of information, education, rational persuasion and emotional persuasion. Data analysis techniques in the form of quantitative content analysis of descriptive analysis, analysis of the relationships between categories with different analysis Pearson Correlations and subsequent analysis of qualitative data.The results showed that Content @bnn_cegahnarkoba content on social media is a form of information content by 84, 4% and emotional peruasi content by 15, 6%. The content of emotional persuasion positive correlation between active involvement netizen that strategy needs to be done is to improve the content of emotional persuasion in order to increase the involvement of netizens."
