"Perkembangan e-Business memberikan berbagai tantangan dan peluang bagi institusi pendidikan dalam menyelenggarakan proses bisnisnya secara online melalui Internet. Program Studi Teknik Informatika Universitas Atma Jaya Yogyakarta menjawab tantangan dan peluang ini dengan mengembangkan campus portal untuk menyediakan sumber daya informasi dan layanan (proses bisnis) dengan konsisten, transparan, mudah diadaptasi, dan aman kepada civitas akademika dan meningkatkan daya saing terhadap program-program studi lainnya, sehingga dapat menarik minat calon mahasiswa untuk memilih Program Studi Teknik Informatika Universitas Atma Jaya Yogyakarta. Proses pengembangan sistem dilakukan dengan metode Visual Architecting Process® dari Bredemeyer Consulting yang terdiri dari tahap architectural requirement untuk melakukan analisa terhadap kebutuhan fungsional maupun non fungsional dari sistem campus portal. Kebutuhan-kebutuhan fungsional sistem campus portal diterjemahkan ke dalam rancangan arsitektur logis, konseptual maupun fisik yang menggambarkan struktur dari sistem (architectural specification). Rancangan arsitektur yang telah dihasilkan divalidasi (architecture validation) sehingga dapat dijustifikasi berdasarkan tujuan pengembangan sistem yang terkait dengan tujuan atau strategi dari Program Studi Teknik Informatika Universitas Atma Jaya Yogyakarta.

The system development process done with Visual Architecting Process method from Bredemeyer Consulting, that include architectural requirement phase to analyze the functional and non functional requirements of campus portal system. These functional requirements are translated into conceptual, logical, and physical architecture design which describes the system structure in the system structuring phase (architecture specification). In the architecture validation phase, the architectural design that produced has been validate so it can be justified based on the objective of system development that related with the objective or strategy of Informatics Engineering Department of Atma Jaya Yogyakarta University."
