"ABSTRAKTranshumanisme adalah gerakan global yang bertujuan untuk mengubah kondisi manusia denganmengembangkan dan menciptakan teknologi untuk meningkatkan intelektual, fisik, dan psikologismanusia. Tujuan dari transhumanisme adalah mencapai keabadian dan evolusi manusia.Transhumanisme menjadi topik luas dalam film fiksi ilmiah dan menimbulkan tahun ke tahun. Sebagaicontoh, Chappie (2015), adalah salah satu film fiksi ilmiah yang memiliki masalah tentang bagaimanatranshumanisme dapat mengubah manusia menjadi posthuman. Transhumanisme digambarkan dalamrobot yang hidup dan sadar bernama Chappie, yang kesadarannya diprogram oleh pembuatnya, DeonWilson. Transhumanisme dapat menyebabkan kepunahan manusia, yang merupakan masalah seriusyang mungkin kita hadapi di masa depan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menunjukkan bagaimanatranshumanisme diwakili dalam film Chappie sebagai prediksi kehidupan masa depan posthuman.Analisis ini terdiri dari lima aspek transhumanisme yang akan digunakan untuk menjelaskanpenggambaran transhumanisme dalam film Chappie meliputi dialog dan gambar. Argumen-argumendisertakan dan didukung oleh teori dan fakta dari beberapa ilmuwan dan juga peneliti transhumanisme(analisis tekstual). Dengan demikian, penerapan teori-teori ini menunjukkan bahwa representasitranshumanisme dalam film bisa dianggap menentang nilai-nilai kemanusiaan

ABSTRACTTranshumanism is a global movement that purposes to transform human condition by developing andcreating widely available technologies to greatly enhance human intellectual, physical, andpsychological. The purpose of transhumanism is for immortality and human evolution.Transhumanism becomes a widespread topic in Science Fiction movie and it rises years by years. Forexample, Chappie (2015) is one of Sci-Fi movie that has the issue of how transhumanism changeshuman into a Posthuman. Transhumanism is portrayed in the alive and conscious robot namedChappie, which its consciousness is programmed by its maker, Deon Wilson. Transhumanism maylead to human extinction, which is a serious problem that we may face in the future. This researchaims to show how transhumanism is represented in the movie Chappie as a prediction of posthumanfuture life. The analysis consists of five transhumanism aspects that will be used to explain theportrayal of transhumanism in the film, and it also involves dialogues and pictures. Includedarguments are supported by some scientists’ and researchers’ theories and facts about transhumanism(textual analysis). As such, the application of these theories suggests that the representation oftranshumanism in the film could be considered opposing the human values."
