"Kent Puckett's Narrative Theory: A Critical Introduction provides an account of a methodology increasingly central to literary studies, film studies, history, psychology and beyond. In addition to introducing readers to some of the field's major figures and their ideas, Puckett situates critical and philosophical approaches towards narrative within a longer intellectual history. The book reveals one of narrative theory's founding claims - that narratives need to be understood in terms of a formal relation between story and discourse, between what they narrate and how they narrate it - both as a necessary methodological distinction and as a problem characteristic of modern thought. "Film yang mengandung unsur humor seringkali menjadi favorit di kalangan penonton. Dua film Nagabonar: Nagabonar (1987) dan Nagabonar Jadi 2 (2007) dianggap berhasil dalam menyajikan komedi. Disertasi ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perubahan ideologi yang terdapat dalam kedua film Nagabonar, serta pesan dan kritik yang disampaikan melalui humor. Kedua film ini menggunakan strategi karikatur dalam menghadirkan unsur humor. Melalui metode kajian sinema dengan pendekatan genre humor karikatur, analisis juga dilakukan terhadap teks visual dengan memperhatikan mise-en-scene, pengaturan adegan tokoh dengan staging, serta konsep ikonografi yang menggambarkan tokoh Nagabonar secara khas sehingga menciptakan tokoh karikatur. Hasil analisis ini mengungkapkan berbagai fenomena sosial yang terjadi pada masa rilis film tersebut, dengan pola dan bentuk yang unik. Kesimpulan dari analisis ini adalah adanya pergeseran ideologi yang tergambar melalui kritik yang disampaikan dengan strategi karikatur dalam film.

Films containing elements of humor often become favorites among audiences. Two Nagabonar films, Nagabonar (1987) and Nagabonar Jadi 2 (2007), are considered successful in presenting comedy. This dissertation aims to analyze the ideological changes reflected in the two Nagabonar films, as well as the messages and critiques conveyed through humor. Both films employ a caricature strategy to deliver humorous elements. Through the method of cinematic studies with a caricature humor genre approach, the analysis also examines visual texts by focusing on mise-en-scène, character staging arrangements, and the concept of iconography that distinctively portrays the character of Nagabonar, creating a caricature figure. The results of this analysis reveal various social phenomena occurring during the release periods of these films, with unique patterns and forms. The conclusion of this analysis is that there is a shift in ideology depicted through critiques conveyed using the caricature strategy in the films."

This book provides a critical engagement with this dynamic i eld of narrative studies, addressing long-standing questions such as definitions of narrative and views of narrative structure but also more recent preoccupations such as narrative discourse and identities, narrative language, power and ideologies. "ABSTRAKSkripsi ini membahas strategi narasi dalam komik Korea berjudul Iljimae 2009 oleh Go Wooyoung. Strategi narasi dalam komik Iljimae didiskusikan melalui plot dan tema yang disajikan pada salah satu dari delapan jilid serial komik Iljimae karya Go Wooyoung, yaitu jilid 1.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis strategi narasi dalam Iljimae yang merupakan salah satu komik Korea tahun 1970-an. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode close-reading, yaitu metode membaca dengan mendetil dan cermat terhadap apa saja yang ada dalam korpus, untuk menganalisis unsur intrinsik dalam komik tersebut, khusunya plot yang dikaitkan dengan tema. Hasil penelitian ini menguatkan penelitian terdahulu bahwa plot pada Iljimae dibangun melalui narasi gijeonche, dan menunjukkan bahwa tema dibangun melalui geukhwa. Hasil penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa tema yang diusung berkaitan erat dengan situasi masyarakat Korea Selatan pada masa komik ini dibuat, yaitu adanya ketimpangan sosial yang menjelaskan lsquo;keterlantaran rsquo; sebagai identitas Korea. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan informasi bermanfaat terkait narasi pada komik. Selain itu juga diharapkan dapat memberi informasi baru bagi pembaca yang tertarik meneliti manhwa komik Korea.

ABSTRACTThis research analyzes a strategy of narration in Korean comic Iljimae 2009 by Go Wooyoung. The strategy of narration in Iljimae will be disscused from plot and theme presented in volume 1 from the complete eight volumes of the Iljimae comic series. This study will analyze the strategy of narration in Iljimae, a Korean comic from 1970 rsquo s. The method used in this thesis is close reading, a method of reading in detail and carefully about anything inside the corpus, to analyze the intrinsic of the comic especially plot in associate with theme. The result of the research strengthen previous research that plot in Iljimae built through gijeonche narration, and shows how the theme of corpus built through geukhwa. The result of this study also shows that the theme carried by the corpus is closely related to the stuation of Korean society at the time this comic was made, namely the existence of social inequality that describe Korean identitiy as lsquo neglection rsquo. This research is expected to provide useful information related to the narration in comic, as well as to provide information for readers interested in researching manhwa Korean comic. "
