ABSTRAK Jurnal ini akan memaparkan penyelenggaraan tradisi ritual Qing Ming yang dilaksanakan di Tangerang, Banten
yang jatuh pada tanggal 5 April tahun 2015. Qing Ming di Indonesia lebih dikenal dengan Ceng Beng (bahasa
Hokkian). Perayaan ini merupakan salah satu dari sekian banyak perayaan hari raya Tiongkok yang tetap
dilestarikan perayaannya di Indonesia. Dari makna harafiahnya Qing berarti jernih dan Ming berarti terang. Di
Tiongkok biasanya Qing Ming jatuh pada musim semi, di mana merupakan saat yang paling tepat untuk
mengunjungi makam para leluhur (ziarah). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memaparkan apa yang dilaksanakan
oleh masyarakat peranakan Tionghoa di Tangerang pada perayaan Qing Ming dan makna dari pelaksanaan
perayaan Qing Ming itu sendiri.

In Indonesia, Qing Ming is better known as Ceng Beng (the name in Hokkian dialect). This festival is oneof many Chinese traditional festivals that are still celebrated in Indonesia these days. The word "Qing" itselfliterally means clear while the word "Ming" means bright. In China, Qing Ming is usually held in the middle ofspring, which is the perfect time to visit family's graveyard.
