"Perubahan bentuk kaki pada pasien neuropati diabetik mempengaruhi fungsi kaki sebagai landasan penopang dalam mempertahankan keseimbangan tubuh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan bentuk kaki dengan keseimbangan fungsional pada pasien neuropati diabetik. Desain penelitian ini adalah analitik cross sectional dengan jumlah sampel 132 pasien neuropati diabetik. Analisis data menggunakan Chi Square, Pooled T-test, dan regresi logistik berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan antara bentuk kaki dengan keseimbangan fungsional pada pasien neuropati diabetik, dengan kekuatan hubungan sedang dan arah hubungan positif (p= 0,001; α= 0,05; r= 0,352). Penelitian ini merekomendasikan perawat untuk melakukan deteksi dini dan mencegah resiko jatuh pada pasien neuropati diabetik terkait perubahan bentuk kaki dan keseimbangan fungsional.

Changes in foot posture in diabetic neuropathy patients affects the function of the legs as the base of support in maintaining body balance. The study aimed to determine the correlation of foot posture with functional balance in diabetic neuropathy patients. This study design was analytic cross sectional, recruited 132 diabetic neuropathy patients. Statistical analysis used Chi Square, Pooled T-test, and multiple logistic regression. The results showed a significant correlation between foot posture and functional balance in diabetic neuropathy patients the power of correlation is moderate and positive direction (p= 0.001; α= 0.05; r= 0.352). This study suggests the nurse to perform early detection and prevention of the risk of falls in diabetic neuropathy patients related to changes in foot posture and functional balance."

"ABSTRAKKarya ilmiah akhir KIA merupakan analisis laporan praktik residensi keperawatan medikal bedah yang terdiri dari pengelolaan kasus gangguan sistem perkemihan dengan pendekatan teori Self Care Orem, penerapan evidence based nursing berupa pemijatan pada titik LI-4 untuk mengurangi nyeri kanulasi arteriovenous AV fistula dan melakukan proyek inovasi kelompok berupa tentang seminar sosialisasi konseling dan konselor keperawatan pada pasien gagal ginjal terminal. Pendekatan teori Self Care Orem meyakini bahwa perawatan diri pasien merupakan sesuatu yang dapat dipelajari dengan melibatkan kemampuan yang ada pasien sesuai kondisi penyakitnya. Pemijatan pada titik LI-4 efektif dalam mengurangi nyeri kanulasi AV-fistula pada pasien hemodialisis, mudah diaplikasikan dan tanpa efek samping sehingga dapat diaplikasikan perawat sebagai intervensi manajemen nyeri non farmakologis untuk mengurangi nyeri kanulasi AV-fistula. Seminar sosialisasi tentang konseling dan konselor keperawatan dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan motivasi dari perawat untuk mengembangkan diri dalam memberikan konseling kepada pasien gagal ginjal terminal.

ABSTRACTThis final paper is an analysis report of residency medical surgical nursing practice consisting of case management of urinary system disorder with Orem Self Care approach, application of evidence based nursing using massage at LI 4 point to reduce pain in AV fistula cannulation, innovation projects on seminars about socialization of counseling and nursing counselors in end stage renal disease patients. The Orem self care approach believes that self care is something that can be learned by involving the patients existing abilities based on his illness. Massage at LI 4 point is effective to reduce pain of AV fistula cannulation in hemodialysis patients, easy to apply and without side effects, so it can applied by nurses as nonpharmacologic pain management interventions to reduce pain in AV fistula cannulation. Seminars about counseling and nursing counselors can improve the knowledge and motivation of nurses to provide a counseling to end stage renal disease patients."

"The learning process in higher nursing education develops student competences, such as applying standard precautions, in providing professional nursing care. To improve student knowledge and compliance related to standard precautions requires innovation from lecturers in providing appropriate learning methods. Peer-assisted learning (PAL) can enhance the active role of students and improve achievement. The PAL method involves senior students as peer teachers who help junior students. Using a questionnaire as an assessment instrument, this study aimed to determine the effectiveness of PAL on knowledge and compliance in the application of standard precautions in student nurses. This study design was quasi experimental with pre and post assessment and a control group design approach. This research was conducted at the D Hospital in Padang, Indonesia, a hospital where students practice. This study was conducted in June–September 2017 with a sample size of 45. Data analysis using paired t-test showed that the average values of the level of knowledge and skills of students in the application of standard precautions before and after PAL methods differed significantly in the intervention group (p= 0.001). In conclusion, PAL can be applied in the learning process of nursing students to increase student achievement."
