"This paper quantitatively investigates the connections between the growing number of young adults in Japan who are out of the workforce—not in school, working, or seeking work—and their employment environments and family backgrounds by drawing upon six years of data from sampling studies that were conducted from 2000 to 2006. A multinomial probit model is used to generate estimates of the possible impacts of changes in local job markets and varying family characteristics on the likelihood of young adults being unemployed (not working but seeking work) or out of the workforce altogether. The paper presents the most detailed testing to date of hypotheses concerning the factors that lead young adults to leave the labor force. I find that apart from the respondents’ educational backgrounds, their parents’ employment status when the respondents were adolescents and past household income are significant determinants of young adults’ employment outcomes. Leaving the workforce is particularly correlated with previously having a high standard of living and not attaining the same level of education as one’s same sex parent."

"Tantangan ekonomi dan surplus demografi mendorong Indonesia untuk melakukan terobosan dalam menyiapkan angkatan kerja yang produktif dan berdaya saing. Program Kartu Prakerja dihadirkan oleh pemerintah sejak tahun 2020, tepat pada saat pandemi Covid-19 menghantam seluruh belahan dunia. Pelatihan peningkatan kompetensi kerja menjadi aktivitas kunci dalam program yang mendapat misi ganda dalam menghadapi kejutan ekonomi akibat pandemi ini. Penelitian kualitatif ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi proses pelaksanaan pelatihan serta memahami faktor pendukung dan penghambat pelaksanaan pelatihan yang telah berhasil memberikan manfaat program kepada lebih dari 12 juta peserta dalam 2 tahun. Diharapkan, penelitian ini dapat memberi manfaat dalam pengembangan program Kartu Prakerja ke depannya. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa pelatihan pada program Kartu Prakerja yang merujuk pada pencapaian kompetensi atau okupasi tertentu dijalankan dengan standar operasi yang detil, melibatkan beragam pihak swasta dalam pelaksanaannya, serta tetap menjalankan fungsi pemberdayaan dalam situasi pandemi. Faktor pendukung pelaksanaan pelatihan yakni adanya standar kualitas pelatihan yang detil, pelaksanaan SOP yang ketat, dukungan platform digital, serta pengalaman lembaga pelatihan yang terlibat. Faktor penghambat pelaksanaan pelatihan antara lain ialah beban program sebagai misi ganda program Kartu Prakerja, referensi okupasi yang terbatas, serta literasi pelatihan dari peserta yang masih terbatas. Saran perbaikan program antara lain mencakup upaya penguatan kolaborasi di antara para mitra program yang terlibat, mendorong dibukanya program Kartu Prakerja tanpa misi ganda bantuan sosial dengan pagu pelatihan yang lebih besar, penambahan referensi okupasi untuk mengakomodir kebutuhan spesifik, serta membuka kesempatan kepada alumni program yang sudah bekerja untuk mendapatkan kesempatan belajar kembali dalam upaya peningkatan kompetensi saat sudah bekerja.

Economic challenges and a demographic surplus have pushed Indonesia to innovate in developing a productive and competitive workforce. The Pre-Employment Card Program has been presented by the government since 2020, when the Covid-19 pandemic spread throughout the world. Job training is a key activity in the pre-employment card program which also carries out a mission in providing social safety net due to the economic shock caused by the pandemic. This qualitative research aims to evaluate the implementation process of the training and to understand the supporting and inhibiting factors in the implementation of the training. The program has impacted more than 12 million participants in 2 years. This research is expected to provide input in the improvement of the Pre-Employment Card program. The study found that training in the Pre-Employment Card program that refers to certain competencies or occupations is carried out with detailed operating standards, involving various private parties in its implementation, while still carrying out the empowerment function in a pandemic situation. Supporting factors of the implementation of the training includes detailed training quality standards, strict SOP implementation, supports from digital platforms, and the capacity of training institutions in the ecosystem. Inhibiting factors include program obligations as social assistance, limited competency references, and limited participant literacy related to training. Suggestions for program improvement include the strengthening of collaboration among the program partners involved, encouraging the normal scheme implementation of the Pre-Employment Card program without the dual mission of social assistance, adding occupational references to accommodate specific needs, and providing second opportunities to program alumni who are already working to become participant."

"Penelitian ini membahas mengenai kebijakan pemerintah Singapura dalam mengelola tenaga kerja asingnya melalui kebijakan Employment of Manpower Act yang terus mengalami perubahan seiring dengan perkembangan kondisi perekonomian negara tersebut. Krisis global tahun 2008 telah mempengaruhi kondisi ekonomi Singapura dan membuat pemerintahnya mengambil langkah-langkah strategis untuk meningkatkan kembali performa perekonomiannya. Salah satunya adalah dengan mengubah kebijakan ketenagakerjaan agar tidak terlalu bergantung pada tenaga kerja asing yang selama ini menjadi penopang perekonomian Singapura. Fokus penelitian ini adalah menganalisis bagaimana keterkaitan antara ide-ide (Ideas), kepentingan-kepentingan (Interests) dari berbagai pihak yang terkait dengan isu ketenagakerjaan, dalam hal ini adalah institusi-institusi (Institutions) negara Singapura pada saat melakukan amandemen kebijakan Ketenagakerjaannya, Employment of Manpower Act pada tahun 2012.

This study discusses how Singapore’s Government manages its foreign workforce through the Employment of Manpower Act policy, which continues to change along with the development of the country's economic condition. The 2008 global crisis has affected Singapore's economic conditions and has made its government take some strategic steps to improve its economic performance. One of the steps taken by the Singapore government is to change employment policies to be less dependent on foreign workers who have become the backbone of Singapore's economy. The focus of this research is to analyze how the interrelationship between ideas (ideas), interests (Interests) from various parties related to employment issues, in this case, are Singapore state institutions when amending their Employment Policy, Employment of Manpower Act in 2012."

"Jaminan sosial ketenagakerjaan merupakan instrumen penting untuk menjaga kesejahteraan tenaga kerja. Di Indonesia sendiri hanya ada 23% tenaga kerja yang memilki jamsostek, rendahnya angka ini dapat menjadi ancaman karena tidak terlindunginya tenaga kerja atas risiko-risiko yang dapat mereka hadapi. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui determinan sosial ekonomi yang mempengaruhi kepemilikan jaminan sosial ketenagakerjaan di Indonesia. Metode yang digunakan adalah logistik dengan data Susenas 2021 yang diperoleh dari BPS. Hasil penelitian ini menemukan bahwa variabel-variabel, seperti jenis kelamin, lokasi wilayah urban, status kemiskinan, sektor pekerjaan, umur, lokasi tempat tinggal, dan pendidikan terakhir berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap keputusan tenaga kerja untuk memiliki jamsostek.

Employment social security is an important instrument for maintaining the welfare of the workforce. In Indonesia, only 23% of the workforce owns employment social security. This low number of ownership can be a threat because the workforce is not protected against the risks they may face. Therefore, this study aims to determine the socioeconomic determinants of employment social security ownership in Indonesia. The study used Susenas 2021 data from BPS and analyzed it using logistic/logit regression. The results of this study found that various characteristics of workforce, such as gender, poverty status, employment sector, age, location of residence, urban/rural, and education have a significant effect on the workforce’s decision to have social security."

"In the last two decades, Indonesia has witnessed a surplus growth in the young and educated labor force. A significant proportion of educated people tend to move to other regions in search of jobs. Data from the 1995 Intercensal Population Survey (SUPAS) clearly documented this phenomenon and that many people who migrated belong to younger age groups. The improvements in socioeconomic development across various regions have exerted a tremendous impact on the flow of people as well as gonads across the regional and ethics boundaries within Indonesia. This paper mainly focuses on the region-to-region migration in Indonesia and the influence of major determinants specifically education and employment. For the analysis, logistic regression models are confined to explain the differentials in migration by selected explanatory variables. "

"Analisis ketenagaan keperawatan diperlukan dalam peningkatan kualitas pelayanan kesehatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis ketenagaan keperawatan di Ruang Rawat Inap dan Intensif Rumah Sakit Umum Kota Tasikmalaya. Rancangan penelitian secara deskriptif komparatif dengan metode cross sectional. Sampel sebanyak 1530 pengamatan shift dinas pada 17 Ruang Rawat Inap dan Intensif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat ketidaksesuaian kehadiran tenaga perawat berdasarkan perencanaan dengan kebutuhan tenaga perawat berdasarkan tingkat ketergantungan pasien pada setiap shift dinas (p<0,05). Disarankan adanya penyesuaian penempatan dan pemenuhan kebutuhan tenaga perawat dengan memperhatikan beban kerja.

Nursing workforce analysis is needed in improving quality of health service. This study aimed to analyze nursing workforce at Inpatient and Intensive care units of Tasikmalaya City General Hospital. This descriptive-comparative study used cross-sectional approach. Sample of 1530 observations duty shifts on 17 Inpatient and Intensive care units. The results showed discrepancy between the attendance of nurses based on planning as well the needs of nurses based on level of patients? dependence on each shift duty (p<0.05). Recommended placement and adjustment needs of nurses with respect to workload."

"Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memahami perencanaan strategi staffing atau kepegawaian, implementasi strategi tersebut, dan evaluasi yang dilakukan oleh perusahaan Startup untuk memastikan keberhasilannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif melalui metode studi kasus. Data penelitian diperoleh dengan observasi di salah satu perusahaan small startup yaitu Investify dan wawancara secara mendalam 16 orang narasumber yang terdiri dari staff HR, Manajer HR, dan salah satu CEO perusahaan start up. Data dikodekan menggunakan aplikasi NVivo 12. Temuan penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa strategi staffing melibatkan sejumlah tahapan, termasuk pemilihan channel publikasi lowongan, penyaringan kandidat, dan penawaran insentif kepada karyawan potensial. Keterbatasan penelitian ini terletak pada terbatasnya ruang lingkup penelitian yang hanya berfokus pada perusahaan startup di Jakarta, sehingga cakupan ruang lingkupnya menjadi terbatas. Dengan menggunakan hasil penelitian ini, para praktisi dapat meningkatkan keefektifan dalam mengelola kepegawaian dengan melakukan langkah-langkah konkret seperti memperkuat brand perusahaan melalui komunikasi budaya dan nilai, mengeksplorasi beragam saluran perekrutan, dan meningkatkan metode seleksi karyawan. Orisinalitas dan nilai penelitian ini terletak pada eksplorasi strategi kepegawaian di perusahaan startup di Jakarta. Penelitian ini memberikan wawasan mengenai proses rekrutmen dan seleksi yang bisa digunakan untuk meningkatkan strategi kepegawaian di perusahaan startup.

The purpose of this research is to understand the planning, implementation, and evaluation of staffing strategies by startup companies to ensure their success. This study employs a qualitative approach using a case study method. Research data were obtained through observation at one small startup company, namely Investify, and in-depth interviews with 16 informants, including HR staff, HR Managers, and one CEO of a startup company. Data were coded using NVivo 12 software. The research findings reveal that staffing strategies involve several stages, including selecting job posting channels, candidate screening, and offering incentives to potential employees. The limitations lie in the research scope, focused only on startups in Jakarta, and potential bias in data interpretation. Using these research findings, practitioners can enhance workforce management effectiveness by reinforcing the company's brand through cultural communication, exploring diverse recruitment channels, and improving employee selection methods. The originality and value of this research lie in exploring workforce strategies in Jakarta's startup companies, providing insights into recruitment and selection processes that can enhance staffing strategies in startup companies."

"Masalah kekurangan tenaga perawat di rumah sakit secara global masih mengancam hingga saat ini. Keterikatan kerja diperlukan untuk menghasilkan rendahnya angka turnover dan kelelahan, tingginya tingkat kepuasan kerja, dan tenaga kerja yang lebih baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi determinan keterikatan kerja perawat di rumah sakit. Desain penelitian menggunakan cross sectional dengan melibatkan 325 perawat rumah sakit di Jakarta Pusat. Pengambilan data dilakukan secara convenience sampling dan menggunakan e-form. Data dianalisis dengan regresi linier berganda. Hasil penelitian mendapatkan determinan keterikatan kerja perawat adalah berjenis kelamin laki-laki (p = 0,019), kesejahteraan pegawai (p < 0,0001), budaya klan (p = 0,577), dan peran pemimpin (p = 0,005). Faktor usia, pendidikan terakhir, status pernikahan, masa kerja, status kepegawaian, level kompetensi, lama perjalanan dan alat transportasi ke tempat kerja tidak berhubungan dengan keterikatan kerja perawat. Hasil penelitian ini merekomendasikan peningkatan peran pemimpin “mendorong hati”, penerapan tata kelola/gaya manajemen didasarkan pada budaya klan, dan evaluasi terhadap peminatan atau penempatan pegawai sesuai kemampuan fisik dan intelektual.

The shortage of nursing workforce in hospitals is the threatening problem recently. Work engagement form is necessary to produce lower turnover and burnout rates, as well as improving the levels of job satisfaction, and a better workforce. This study aims to identify the determinants of nurse work engagement in the hospital. The research design used cross sectional involving 325 hospital nurses in Central Jakarta. Data collection was carried out by convenience sampling and using e-form. Data was analyzed by multiple linear regression. The results showed that the determinants of nurse work engagement were male sex (p = 0,019), employee’s well being (p < 0,0001), clan culture (p = 0,577), and leadership role (p = 0,005). Factors of age, higher education qualification, marital status, years of working experience, employment status, level of competence, length of trip and means of transportation to work are not related to nurse work engagement. The results of this study recommend to encourage each staff by apply compassion in leader role, apply governance/management style based on clan culture, and evaluate the employee’s spesialisation for employee placement according to his/her physical and intellectual abilities.

Education and Communication activities had been performed. This study aimed to determine socioeconomic demographic factors related to Family Planning
Information, Education, Communication, any Information, Education and Communication elements related to contraceptive use and Information, Education
and Communication elements affecting on contraceptive use. Analysis used Indonesia Demographic and Health Survey 2012 as data source with analysis
unit namely married women aged 15-49 years. Samples were 33,465 married women. Analysis used odds ratio (OR) between women receiving Family
Planning Information, Education, Communication toward women not getting access to Family Planning Information, Education, Communication in relation to
contraceptive use. This study found that Family Planning Information, Education, Communication, both media and officers were important factors in contraceptive
use. Information, Education and Communication through television and poster/flyer had a significant relation with contraceptive use (OR 1.6 and 1.3).
Medical officers, Family Planning officers and informal figures among community played an important role in Family Planning information and contraceptive
use (OR 2.2; 1.4; and 1.2). In line with results, visits of Family Planning officers and medical officers informing contraception to clients at healthcare facilities
significantly affected on contraceptive use (OR 1.5 and 2.6).
Prevalensi KB di Indonesia selama satu dekade terakhir (2002-2012) tidak meningkat secara signifikan, walaupun pelbagai kegiatan KIE KB telah dilaksanakan.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor sosio ekonomi demografi yang berkaitan dengan KIE KB, pelbagai unsur KIE yang berkaitan
dengan pemakaian KB, dan unsur KIE yang berpengaruh terhadap pemakaian KB. Analisis menggunakan sumber data Survei Demografi dan Kesehatan
Indonesia 2012 dengan unit analisis perempuan berstatus kawin usia 15-49 tahun. Jumlah sampel yang dianalisis 33.465 perempuan berstatus kawin. Analisis
menggunakan odds ratio atau rasio kecenderungan antara perempuan yang memperoleh KIE KB terhadap perempuan tidak mendapatkan akses KIE KB
dalam hubungannya dengan pemakaian KB. Temuan bahwa pemberian KIE KB, baik media maupun petugas, merupakan faktor penting dalam pemakaian
KB. KIE melalui televisi dan poster/pamflet memiliki hubungan bermakna dengan pemakaian KB (OR 1,6 dan 1,3). Petugas medis, petugas KB dan tokoh informal
di masyarakat berperan penting dalam penyampaian informasi KB dan pemakaian KB (OR 2,2; 1,4; dan 1,2). Sejalan dengan hasil tersebut, kunjungan
petugas KB dan petugas kesehatan menjelaskan KB kepada klien di fasilitas kesehatan berpengaruh secara bermakna pada pemakaian KB (OR 1,5 dan 2,6)."
