"This article examines multi-verb directional motion constructions in Surinamese Javanese, a heritage language undergoing structural influence from Dutch and Sranantongo. These are constructions which express 'direction away' by means of a V2 lunga 'go away'. They are more frequent - and used with more different V1s - than in Indonesian Javanese, the baseline. The frequency change is a pattern change, a result of cross-linguistic transfer from Sranantongo, in which multi-verb constructions to express 'direction away' are very frequent. The extension of the usage contexts to more V1s is a form of semantic extension, and it is the first stage of contact-induced grammaticalization. This is caused by entrenchment of the schema motion verb + away, which exists in both Dutch and Sranantongo. The meaning of the constructions is also changing: whereas in Indonesian Javanese the directional element never refers to the causee alone, it frequently does in Surinamese Javanese. Finally, some preliminary observations are made with respect to the possible development of a parallel construction expressing 'direction towards' with V2 teka 'come', modeled on the Sranantongo multi-verb constructions with V2 kon 'come'."

"ABSTRAK
One of the Javanese's highest cultures is the creation of cultural wisdom that conveys the concept of fairness as expressed in propositions as well as cultural expressions. This research aims to revive the memories of Javanese cultural wisdom especially those related to fairness. Based on the propositions, the objective of this research is to identify the
concept of fairness behavior in Javanese culture. This resear
ch is qualitative. The data were collected from text books
and literary texts validated by in-depth interviews as well as
forum group discussions. The data corpuses were analyzed
by using componential and taxonomic analysis. Through semantic and pragmatic analysis, the fairness concept in
Javanese culture can be identified.
Bisa ngrumangsani is the main principle of fairness in Javanese propositions and covers two sub-ordinates propositions, i.e. self-restraint and appreciation for others. Each of these two sub-ordinate propositions covers four sub-ordinate propositions referring to action, character, desire, and competence. All of these propositions are sustained by the other proposition creating a whole concept of fairness. The results of this research are expected to serve as groundwork on how the education of national character building relating to fairness behavior can be realized. "

"Two nominals in a genitive construction in Javanese are typically linked by the suffix -é in the low speech level and by -ipun in the high level, both of which are derived from the third person possessive suffix. There is a third suffix which links two nominals, namely -ing, which has so far received little attention in the literature. In this article, I present a syntactic and historical analysis of the suffix -ing. Of particular concern are four types of genitive constructions which permit the use of -ing, as opposed to two constructions where this suffix cannot be used."
