"The fulfilment of customers’ emotional needs (Kansei in Japanese) tends to be highly expected, especially in growing industries such as the service industry. Recent research shows that emotion is just as important as cognition in service-related encounters. Thus, service providers should not overlook the significant roles of both emotional and cognitive aspects in achieving service excellence for customers. In modeling how to capture and translate customers’ emotional needs into services, Kansei Engineering (KE) is used. This study aims to integrate Kansei Engineering with the Kano model and the Theory of Inventive Problem Solving (TRIZ). The Kano model is used to identify the relationship between service attribute performance and customer satisfaction, whereas TRIZ is utilized subsequently to generate designs for improvement with the lowest contradiction between the proposed service design solutions. Due to relatively unexplored cultural differences in Kansei research, cultural factors are also considered and incorporated into the integrated model. It is hoped that further insight into the emotional needs of customers from different cultural backgrounds will be better understood, so that the improvement strategies will be suitable. In addition, to illustrate the applicability of the integrated model, an empirical study in a medium-sized restaurant that takes into account both Indonesian and non-Indonesian customers will be discussed."

"Proyek pembangunan Kereta Cepat Jakarta-Bandung, atau Whoosh, merupakan bagian dari Proyek Strategis Nasional yang bertujuan untuk mentransformasi moda transportasi umum di wilayah Jawa. Studi ini mengevaluasi signifikansi dari proyek tersebut terhadap industri regional, memahami bahwa terdapat dampak yang timbul terhadap berbagai indikator ekonomi seperti nilai tambah bruto, pendapatan, lapangan kerja dan emisi. Memanfaatkan tabel Interregional Input-Output Indonesia tahun 2016, studi penelitian ini mampu menguantifikasi dampak proyek pembangunan Whoosh dengan total peningkatan sebesar 69,38 triliun rupiah dalam nilai tambah bruto, 27,39 triliun rupiah dalam pendapatan rumah tangga, 353 645 dalam jumlah tenaga kerja, dan 14,18 juta ton CO2e dalam tingkat emisi.

The Jakarta-Bandung high-speed rail, or Whoosh, construction project is part of the National Strategic Project meant to transform public transportation in the Java region. This study assesses the project’s significance towards regional industries, understanding it can have overarching impact on various economic indicators such as gross value added, income, employment and emission. Using Indonesia’s 2016 Interregional Input-Output table, this research study is able to quantify the project’s impact to a total increase of 69.38 trillion rupiahs in gross value added, 27.39 trillion rupiahs in household income, 353 645 in labor/employment level, and 14.18 million tons of CO2e in emission level."

"Penelitian ini mengkaji aspek ergonomis pada desain kabin pengemudi panser kanon tipe 90 mm dalam Virtual Environment. Tujuannya adalah untuk menghasilkan rekomendasi desain kabin pengemudi Panser Kanon 90mm yang telah ergonomis, sesuai dengan hasil uji nilai PEI. Dihasilkan 6 buah konfigurasi yang akan dianalisis. Analisa postur menggunakan software Jack 6.1. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah Posture Evaluation Index (PEI) yang mengintegrasikan analisis dari tiga metode analisis: Low Back Analysis, Ovako Working Posture Analysis, dan Rapid Upper Limb Assessment. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu usulan konfigurasi dengan sudut tuas kemudi 60o, tinggi kursi 20 cm dan sudut kursi 110o.

This research studies the ergonomic aspect from driver's compartment of panser cannon in Virtual Environment. The purpose of this project was to make ergonomic recommendation designs for armored cab of Canon 90mm according to the PEI test result. Jack 6.2.1 was used to analyze posture. Posture Evaluation Index was an approach that integrated the results of these tree methods: Low Back Analysis, Ovako Working Analysis System, and Rapud Upper Limb Analysis. The results are configuration with 60o on steering wheel angle, 20 cm on chair height, and 110o on chair angle.

"Tubuna penelitian ini adalah until menghasilkan kulit tersamak yang memiliki kekuatan tarik tinggi. Kulit berkekuatan tarik tinggi diharap dapat digunakan untuk produk-produk yang miming membutuhkan hal demikian superti tali koper dan tali haluan kuda. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan merode penyamakan kombinasi antara laurean gambir pH 8, gambir sulfitasi, KA(SO4)2 dan Al2(SO4)3. Penyamakan kombinasi dari 5 bahan tersebut diperoleh 3 kombinasi yang kekuatan kulit tersamaknya bsangat tinggi dan melebihi yang dipersyaratkan oleh SNI 253-2009-A yaitu 75 kg/cm². Kombinasi dimaksud adalah kombinasi larutan gambir dengan KAI(SO4)2; kombinasi KAI(SO4)2 dengan larutan gambir sulfitasi dan kombinasi Al2(SO4)3 dengan larutan gambir pH 8. Nilai kekuatan tarik yang didapat berkisar antara 856,72 kg/cm² sampai 1124,70 kg². Sebagai pembanding kekuatan tarik kulit kambing tersamak kombinasi antara bahan penyamak krom dengan gambir adalah 449,17 kg/cm²"

"ABSTRAK
Batik tidak hanya dibuat dari kain, tetapi juga bisa dari kulit untuk melengkap fasionable. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh finishing kulit dengan metode pada kulit samak kombinasi kromalum dan samak namati. Kulit pikel disamak kombinasi dengan krom-alum dan yang lain disamak dengan samak nabati dengan variasi minyak 2%, 4%, dan 6%. Dari masing-masing kulit tersamak dilakukan pembatikan dengan batik tulis dan batik cap sesuai motif yang diinginkan, sesudah dibatik, kulit kemudian dilorod lilinnya dan selanjutnya kulit diberi cat dasar dan coletan warna sesuai keinginan, kemudian difinish dengan binder dan lak agar penampilan kulit lebih baik dan warna tidak luntur. Kulit kemudian diplate atau diseterika agar lilin/malam yang masih menempel pada kulit terangkat. Selanjutnya kulit diuji fisis yaitu ketahanan gosok cat kering dan basah, kekuatan rekat cat tutup, kekuatan retak cat tutup, kekuatan tarik dan kemuluran. Selain itu, kulit juga diuji morfologi kulit."

"Riset kolaborasi merupakan tren baru pada lingkup penelitian akademis saat ini. Para peneliti tidak lagi berperan sebagai penulis independen, melainkan setiap anggota tim menggabungkan pengetahuannya yang berbeda dan menciptakan integrasi untuk pengetahuan baru. Social Network Analysis SNA merupakan metode yang tepat untuk mengidentifikasi pola dan tren dari peneliti terkemuka serta lembaga institusinya.
Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah publikasi internasional yang dihasilkan oleh Fakultas Teknik Universitas Indonesia selama enam tahun terakhir 2010 ndash; September 2016 . Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memberikan analisis centrality melalui identifikasi struktur jaringan sosial dari peneliti dan institusi.
Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa jaringan antar peneliti masih tersebar dan hanya sedikit departemen di Fakultas Teknik UI memiliki struktur jaringan yang baik. Oleh karena itu, hasil penelitian ini dapat digunakan sebagai evaluasi untuk meningkatkan kualitas riset di Fakultas Teknik, Universitas Indonesia.

Research collaboration is going concern in the hallmark of contemporary academic research. Researchers are no longer independent players, but members of team combine their different pieces of knowledge and allow integration for the creation of new knowledge. Social Network Analysis is a powerful tool to identify patterns and trends of leading researchers and institutions.
Data of international publication from Faculty of Engineering Universitas Indonesia during the last six years 2010 ndash September 2016 was used in this study to assess the social networks among researchers. The objective of this study is to provide centrality analysis that reveals the social structure of the networks by identifying researchers and their connections.
The output of this study showed that networks among researchers are still fragmented and slightly department at Faculty of Engineering UI has a good structureof authorship network. Therefore, the results of this study can be used as evaluation to improve the quality of research collaboration in Faculty of Engineering Universitas Indonesia."

"In the period of 2004 to 2014 there was a significant growth of employment in the logistics sector in Indonesia. This reflects a rapid rise in the need for logistics activities to support outsourcing. Because there is strong competition in the sector, logistics services should be able to deliver both cognitive and affective customer satisfaction. Studies in logistic services have been mainly focused on service gaps, an aspect related to cognitive satisfaction in customers. Many studies have been conducted to evaluate logistics service quality using SERVQUAL and the Kano model. However, these are insufficient in addressing all aspects of logistics provision. Hence, a deep understanding of customer affective need (known in Japanese as Kansei) is required, to provide competitive advantage by modeling more comprehensive customer experiences based on perceived logistics services. This paper proposes a combined model of Kansei Engineering, Kano, and quality function deployment (QFD), which it is hoped will generate more innovative ideas for improvements related to customer emotional satisfaction and customer delight. A case study in supporting logistics services has been chosen to validate the proposed model, and a survey through face-to-face questionnaires involving 157 customers was carried out. The model was then validated, and through the House of Quality (HoQ) concept, some innovative improvement ideas are proposed. They include the use of apps for order confirmation and cancellation, the integration of Google Maps into the ordering system, pre-order booking, and a bilingual feature in the transaction menu. Thus, from a practical implication point of view, it is hoped that this study will provide guidelines to the managers of logistics services companies in capturing, measuring and analyzing customer emotional needs (Kansei), with respect to the service attributes which are highly significant to Kansei aspects."

"Agrosilvo ekosistem hutan rakyat (HR) adalah bentuk pengelolaan sumber daya alam berkelanjutan dan adaptif terhadap perubahan. Penelitian ini merumuskan model keberlanjutan dan adaptasi pengelolaan agrosilvo ekosistem HR, sebagai dasar konsep strategi pengelolaan lahan kritis DAS serta strategi adaptasi perubahan iklim berbasis ekosistem hutan. Penelitian ini menggunakan tiga tahapan analisis. Pertama, analisis statistik deskriptif untuk menggambarkan karakteristik dan fungsi agrosilvo ekosistem HR. Kedua, Analisis Multi Dimensional Scaling menggunakan aplikasi Rapid Appraisal HR (RAP-HR) untuk mengetahui status dan faktor pengungkit keberlanjutan dan adaptasi pengelolaan HR. Ketiga, analisis prospektif untuk merumuskan model keberlanjutan pengelolaan dan adaptasi agrosilvo ekosistem HR dalam rekayasa skenario masa depan. Karateristik agrosilvo ekosistem HR dicirikan oleh pola penanaman multispecies dan multilayer yang mampu memenuhi fungsi sosial ekonomi dan hidrologis lahan dalam perubahan pola iklim yang terjadi. Karateristik agrosilvo ekosistem HR dibentuk oleh inisiatif adaptasi subsistem sosial. Keberlanjutan dan adaptasi pengelolaan HR pada unit analisis cukup adaptif dan berkelanjutan didukung keberlanjutan variabel perencanaan tanaman, karateristik agrosilvo ekosistem, dan kelembagaan. Variabel pola silvikultur dan pola pemanenan berada dalam status kurang adaptif dan kurang berkelanjutan. Keberhasilan model keberlanjutan dan adaptasi pengelolaan agrosilvo ekosistem HR digerakkan oleh faktor program penguatan kelembagaan dan diungkit oleh faktor aktivitas pengendalian lahan, penetapan jarak tanam, serta stratifikasi tanaman dan kesinambungan produksi yang berlangsung dalan skenario optimistik progresif.

Agrosilvo ecosystem of privately owned forest (PoF) is a form of sustainable and adaptive natural resource management. This study formulates a model of sustainability and adaptive management of PoF agrosilvo ecosystems, as a basis for formulating the strategic concept of degraded watersheds management and rehabilitation and also forest ecosystem-based climate change adaptation strategies. This study uses three phases of analysis. First, descriptive statistical analysis to describe the characteristics and functions of PoF agrosilvo ecosystem. Secondly, multi dimensional scaling analysis using Rapid Appraisal HR (RAPHR) application to determine the status and leverage factors of sustainability and adaptive management of PoF. Third, prospective analysis to formulate a model of sustainability and adaptive management of agrosilvo ecosystems in engineered future scenarios. Agrosilvo ecosystem of PoF are characterized by multispecies and multilayer planting that is able to meet socio-economic needs and continuously maintain the carrying capacity of land in a changing climate pattern. The characteristic of agrosilvo ecosystem of POF were formed by autonomous adaptation initiatives of social subsystems. The sustainability and adaptation of PoF management on the unit of analysis is quite adaptive and sustainable, which are supported by the sustainability of plants planning, agrosilvo ecosystem characteristics, and institutional variables. Silvicultural pattern and harvesting pattern are less adaptive and less sustainable. The model of sustainability and adaptive management of PoF are driven by institutional strengthening program and supported by land management activities, plant spacing determination, plant stratification, and sustainability of production factors in progressive optimistic future scenario.
