"ABSTRAKPenelitian ini menjelaskan mengenai fenomena regionalisme dalam Pemilu Presiden di Korea Selatan. Permasalahan yang dibahas dalam skripsi ini adalah bagaimana pembelahan sosial dalam masyarakat Korea Selatan berperan dalam terbentuknya fenomena regionalisme di masa transisi demokrasi dalam Pemilihan Presiden tahun 1987. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dan menggunakan teori pembelahan sosial dan konsep regionalisme. Hasil penelitian ini adalah fenomena regionalisme yang terbentuk pada masa transisi demokrasi merupakan pembelahansosial yang terjadi akibat kebijakan rezim otoriter bagi wilayah di Korea Selatan. Selain itu fenomena regionalisme dalam Pemilu Presiden tahun 1987 juga didorong mobilisasi dukungan oleh kandidat dari wilayah asal masing-masing. Mobilisasi dukungan wilayah asal dan pencalonan Kim Young-sam (Reunification Democratic Party) dan Kim Dae-jung (Party for Peace and Democracy) membuat dukungan kepada oposisi terbagi sehingga kandidat partai pemerintah Roh Tae-woo (Democratic Justice Party) berhasil memenangkan Pemilu Presiden.

ABSTRACTThis research explains about regionalism phenomenon in South Korea, especially in the presidential election. The problem discussed in this research is how the impact of social cleavage in South Korean society toward the formation of regionalism’s phenomenon in the transition to democracy in the 1987 Presidential Election. This research used qualitative methods and it applies social cleavage theory and regionalism concept. The result of this research finds that regionalism phenomenon formed in the Presidential Election on democratic transition period was the social cleavage which occured due to the policy of authoritarian regime toward regions in South Korea. In addition, regionalism phenomenon in the 1987 presidential election was also caused by the competition among the candidates in mobilizing the voters from their respective regions. The mobilization of regional support and the candidacy between Kim Young-sam (Reunification Democratic Party) and Kim Dae-jung (Party for Peace and Democracy) cause the support for the opposition was divided and the ruling party candidate Roh Tae-woo (Democratic Justice Party) won the presidential election.;"

"Pada Pemilu 2022, Yoon Seok-yeol dari People Power Party berhasil mengalahkan Lee Jae-myung dari Democratic Party of Korea dalam pertarungan memperebutkan kursi Presiden Korea Selatan ke-13. Hasil pemilu tahun 2022 menunjukkan persaingan ketat antara kedua kandidat yang hanya memiliki selisih suara 0,73 persen dengan total partisipasi pemilih 77,1 persen. Pada masa kampanye Pilpres tersebut, ditemukan beberapa narasi yang mempengaruhi hasil suara, antara lain perdebatan seputar paham anti-feminisme dan masalah domestik yang kurang diatasi oleh pemerintahan sebelumnya, administrasi Presiden Moon Jae-In. Dalam rangka untuk memenangkan pemilu, Yoon Seok-yeol berupaya untuk memanfaatkan sentimen anti-feminisme dalam wacana kampanyenya, terutama di kalangan pemilih laki-laki muda. Dengan menggunakan teori strategi politik ofensif milik Peter Schr�der. Melalui empat variabel dari teori tersebut, yaitu target image (citra yang diinginkan), kelompok target, pesan kelompok target, dan instrumen kunci, penelitian ini ingin menjelaskan strategi ofensif Yoon Seok-yeol dari PPP dalam memenangkan kontestasi Pilpres 2022 di Korea Selatan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data sekunder dan studi literatur. Penelitian ini menemukan berkembanganya wacana anti-feminisme sejak Pemerintahan Presiden Moon Jae-In berhasil dimobilisasi oleh Yoon Seok-yeol untuk menggiring opini para kelompok laki-laki muda untuk memilihnya.

In the 2022 Presidential Election, Yoon Seok-yeol from the People Power Party defeated Lee Jae-myung from the Democratic Party of Korea in the battle for the 13th President of South Korea. The election results in 2022 showed a tight competition between the two candidates, with a narrow vote margin of 0.73 percent and a total voter turnout of 77.1 percent. During the presidential campaign, several narratives were found to influence the voting results, including debates surrounding anti-feminism ideology and unresolved domestic issues under the previous administration of President Moon Jae-In. In order to win the election, Yoon Seok-yeol sought to capitalize on anti-feminism sentiments in his campaign discourse, particularly among young male voters. Using Peter Schr�der's theory of offensive political strategy, this research aims to explain Yoon Seok-yeol's offensive strategy from the PPP in winning the 2022 Presidential contest in South Korea. The study examines four variables from the theory, namely target image, target group, group-targeted message, and key instruments, to analayze Yoon Seok-yeol's strategy. The study employs a qualitative methodology by using secondary data collection and literature review. The research finds the proliferation of anti-feminism discourse since the Moon Jae-In administration, succesfully mobilized by Yoon Seok-yeol, exploiting the opinions of young male groups to secure their votes."

"Pemilihan umum merupakan instrumen utama pada negara demokrasi sebagai sarana bagi masyarakat untuk berpartisipasi langsung dalam politik. Pada negara di kawasan Asia Timur seperti Republik Korea, Ajaran Konfusianisme berperan signifikan dalam membentuk kehidupan sosial dan politik masyarakat. Hal ini diperlihatkan melalui munculnya regionalisme sebagai budaya politik yang memengaruhi pilihan pemilih pada pemilihan umum. Regionalisme memiliki pengaruh signifikan pada hasil perolehan suara, terutama pada pemilihan presiden yang pertama kali dilakukan secara demokratis pada tahun 1978. Selain regionalisme, beberapa literatur menunjukkan bahwa performa kandidat juga memengaruhi pilihan pemilih melalui evaluasi pemilih pada kualitas kandidat. Hal ini tidak lepas dari terungkapnya skandal korupsi Park Geun Hye, presiden dari partai konservatif yang dipilih pada pemilihan presiden tahun 2012, pada tahun 2016. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjawab faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi pilihan pemilih pada pemilihan presiden Republik Korea tahun 2017 melalui metode kualitatif dengan instrumen studi literatur. Analisis dilakukan dengan teori The Model of Voting Choice oleh Byung-o Min (2004). Penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa pilihan pemilih pada pemilihan presiden tahun 2017 signifikan dipengaruhi oleh dua faktor yaitu regionalisme yang dipengaruhi oleh Ajaran Konfusianisme dan performa kandidat yang saling berhubungan. Terjadi pula vote switchingdari pendukung kandidat partai konservatif ke kandidat partai lainnya sebagai akibat dari terungkapnya skandal korupsi Park Geun Hye."

"The book discusses how the use of some election rules embedded in the U.S. Constitution and in the presidential succession Act may cause skewed or weird election outcomes and election stalemates. The book argues that the act may not cover some rare though possible situations which the twentieth amendment authorizes congress to address. Also, the book questions the constitutionality of the national popular vote plan to introduce a direct popular presidential election de facto, without amending the constitution, and addresses the plan?s ?achilles? heel.? In particular, the book shows that the plan may violate the equal protection clause from the fourteenth amendment of the constitution. Numerical examples are provided to show that the counterintuitive claims of the NPV originators and proponents that the plan will encourage presidential candidates to ?chase? every vote in every state do not have any grounds. Finally, the book proposes a plan for improving the election system by combining at the national level the ?one state, one vote? principle, embedded in the constitution, and the ?one person, one vote? principle.
