"Menjamin representasi dan keadilan dalam voting: Pendekatan teori keadilan John Rawls dalam menentukan bentuk voting terbaik. Tugas akhir ini akan memaparkan voting sebagai upaya untuk memberikan representasi dan keadilan bagi masyarakat. Metode yang digunakan dalam tugas akhir ini adalah melakukan kajian literatur lalu refleksi filosofis. Sumber data diambil dari tulisan Lomasky, Brennan, Freiman, dan Julia Maskivker mengenai alasan individu melakukan voting dan kritik ketiadaan obligasi moral voting. Data literatur selanjutnya mengenai kesejahteraan sosial diambil dari buku “A Theory of Justice” karya John Rawls. Hasil yang ditemukan adalah representasi dan keadilan perlu menjadi fokus dalam menjustifikasi sistem voting. Justifikasi voting sebagai kegiatan irasional dan tidak perlu dilakukan akan mengurangi representasi suara bagi yang kurang beruntung yang pada akhirnya memperburuk situasi keadilan di masyarakat. Sistem voting terbaik adalah voting secara langsung. Metode pemeringkatan dalam voting perlu digunakan untuk memperluas kebebasan berekspresi masyarakat yang berdampak pada kesejahteraan dan keadilan sosial. Hasil yang ditemukan ini diharapkan dapat memperluas cakupan pemahaman mengenai voting melalui paradigma kesejahteraan sosial di masyarakat

Ensuring representation and fairness in voting: John Rawls' justice theory approach in determining the best form of voting. This final project will describe voting as an effort to provide representation and justice for the community. The method used in this final project is to do a literature review and then philosophical reflection. The data sources are taken from the writings of Lomasky, Brennan, Freiman, and Julia Maskivker regarding the reasons for individuals to vote and critique the lack of moral obligation of voting. Further literature data on social welfare is taken from the book "A Theory of Justice" by John Rawls. The results found are representation and fairness need to be the focus in justifying the voting system. The justification of voting as an irrational and unnecessary activity will reduce vote representation for the less fortunate, which in turn worsens the situation of justice in society. The best voting system is direct voting. The ranking method in voting needs to be used to expand people's freedom of expression which has an impact on welfare and social justice. The results found are expected to broaden the scope of understanding of voting through the social welfare paradigm in society."

"Skripsi ini membahas bagaimana Janet Radcliffe Richards menghadirkan kritik terhadap teori keadilan John Rawls yang selama ini dianggap paling mumpuni untuk menciptakan keadilan sosial di masyarakat. Richards mengagas sebuah teori Keadilan Seksual sebagai usaha untuk mewujudkan keadilan bagi perempuan dengan dua tujuan utama yaitu, menghilangkan ketidakadilan berbasis seks sekaligus sebagai upaya untuk memenuhi hak-hak seksual perempuan seperti kontrasepsi, aborsi, hak-hak maternitas dan pengasuhan anak. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan desain deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa implementasi nyata dari teori Keadilan Seksual milik Richards ternyata dapat diterapkan dikehidupan bermasyarakat agar keadilan untuk perempuan dapat terwujud dan setara dengan laki-laki.

This undergraduate thesis describes how is Janet Radcliffe Richards presenting critique towards John Rawlss Theory of Justice which have been considered as the most prominent theory to create social justice within society. Richards create her own version of justice and called it Sexual Justice. Her idea of justice has two primary aims. First, her idea about justice is about to eliminate sex based injustice and the second aim is for womens fullfillment of sexual rights such as contraception, abortion, maternity rights and child bearing. This research is qualitative descriptive interpretive. The result of this research shows that the implementation of Sexual Justice theory by Richards can be applied for the purpose of just situation for women in the in the society and equality between men and women is not illusion anymore.Key Words Janet Radcliffe Richards, John Rawls, Feminism, Social Justice, Sexual Justice."

"Permasalahan ketimpangan ekonomi telah menyebabkan krisis yang sangat mendalam bagi rakyat Indonesia. Berdasarkan survei yang dilakukan oleh Credit Suisse, diketahui bahwa 1 persen orang terkaya di Indonesia menguasai 49.3 persen kekayaan nasional. Sebagai salah satu upaya untuk mengatasi permasalahan ketimpangan tersebut, pemerintah Indonesia dapat menerapkan kebijakan berbasis Universal Basic Income (UBI) untuk kalangan masyarakat miskin. Dengan diterapkannya kebijakan berbasis UBI untuk kalangan masyarakat miskin, maka diharapkan akan terjadi peningkatan produktivitas masyarakat secara keseluruhan sehingga akan menurunkan angka ketimpangan ekonomi. Kendati demikian, pertama kita harus menjawab suatu permasalahan filosofis penting terkait apakah kebijakan berbasis UBI tersebut pada hakikatnya memanglah bersifat adil bagi seluruh masyarakat Indonesia. Oleh karena itu, tulisan ini bertujuan untuk melakukan suatu penelitian filosofis dengan menggunakan metode analisis deskriptif terhadap kemungkinan penerapan kebijakan berbasis Universal Basic Income (UBI) di Indonesia yang dilandaskan pada teori keadilan Rawls. Dari hasil analisis, ditemukan bahwa penerapan kebijakan berbasis Universal Basic Income (UBI) pada hakikatnya sudah bersifat adil karena mewujudkan kesetaraan kesempatan dan keadilan sosial lewat pemberian manfaat UBI.

The problem of economic inequality has caused a very deep crisis for the Indonesian people. Based on a survey conducted by Credit Suisse, it is known that the richest 1 percent in Indonesia controls 49.3 percent of national wealth. As one of the efforts to overcome the problem of inequality, the Indonesian government can implement policies based on Universal Basic Income (UBI) for the poor. With the implementation of UBI-based policies for the poor, it is hoped that there will be an increase in the productivity of society as a whole so that it will reduce economic inequality. Nevertheless, first we have to answer an important philosophical issue related to whether the UBI-based policy is in essence fair for all Indonesian people. Therefore, this study aims to carry out a philosophical research using descriptive analysis methods on the possibility of implementing Universal Basic Income (UBI)-based policies in Indonesia which are based on Rawls's theory of justice. From the results of the analysis, it was found that the implementation of policies based on Universal Basic Income (UBI) was essentially fair because it created equality of opportunity and social justice by providing UBI benefits."

"Kebebasan adalah kodrat manusia sebagai individu. Namun pajak sebagai kebijakan dari negara tidak relevan dengan kebebasan individu karena sifatnya yang memaksa individu membayar kepada negara yang kemudian juga menimbulkan problem ketidakadilan dalam hubungannya dengan bentuk-bentuk dan tujuan pajak. Robert Nozick memberikan gagasan minimal state sebagai konsep negara yang fungsinya sebatas menjamin kebebasan, keamanan, dan hak-hak individu di dalamnya dengan redistribusi untuk fungsi tersebut dan keadilan distributif via market sebagai landasan supaya keadilan bisa diterapkan. Dengan dua gagasan tersebut keadilan akan signifikan dengan kesejahteraan masyarakat dalam kebebasannya.

Freedom is human’s nature as an individual. However, tax as the policy of the state is not relevant to individual freedom because it is forcing people to pay to the state which then also lead to problem of injustice in relation to the forms and tax purposes. Robert Nozick provide a notion about minimal state as the concept of state which limit it function to guarantee freedom, security, and the rights of individuals in it with the redistribution and also a notion about distributive justice via market as a foundation so that justice can be applied. With these two notions, justice will be significant to the welfare of society in freedom."
