"Researchers have explored many methods to create a supportive learning environment in order to make students learn more effectively in class. Affective filter is one of the crucial factors that teachers have to pay attention to in order to do so, especially when it comes to teaching young learners who may find learning a new language more difficult. This research is going to discuss how the use of nursery rhymes helps lowering young learners’ affective filter, and whether the students’ proficiency makes a difference. Qualitative and quantitative research obtained from interviews and observation were done to six kindergarten students in Bogor. The results were then analysed by using paired t-test and descriptive analysis. Through the findings, this case study suggests that the use of nursery rhymes lowers the students’ affective filter, and their motivation, attitude, anxiety, and self-confidence have some differences depending on their level of proficiency and personality.
Para peneliti telah mengeksplorasi banyak metode untuk menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang mendukung agar siswa belajar lebih efektif di kelas. Filter afektif adalah salah satu faktor penting yang harus diperhatikan guru untuk melakukannya, terutama dalam hal mengajar anakanak yang mungkin merasa belajar bahasa baru lebih sulit. Penelitian ini akan membahas bagaimana penggunaan lagu anak-anak membantu menurunkan filter afektif mereka, dan apakah terdapat perbedaan pada tingkat kemahiran siswa. Penelitian kualitatif dan kuantitatif diperoleh dari wawancara dan observasi yang dilakukan terhadap enam siswa TK di Bogor. Hasilnya kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji t berpasangan dan analisis deskriptif. Melalui temuan, studi kasus ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan lagu anak-anak menurunkan filter afektif siswa, motivasi, sikap, kecemasan, dan kepercayaan diri mereka memiliki beberapa perbedaan tergantung pada tingkat kemahiran dan kepribadian mereka

"Tesis ini membahas efek pengajaran kosakata bahasa Inggris teks prosedur dengan menggunakan metode Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL). Sebagai pembanding, digunakan juga kelas kontrol di dalam penelitian ini. Ancangan penelitian ini adalah kuantiatif dengan jenis Post-Test Only. Data penelitian diambil dengan menggunakan Post-Test yang diberikan sehari dan tiga minggu setelah perlakuan kepada kedua kelas partisipan. Analisis hasil penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan rerata dan uji t dependen dan independen menggunakan SPSS 22.
Analisis tersebut menunjukkan peningkatan hasil yang signifikan pada kelas XI IPS 1 yang menerapkan metode CTL. Selain itu, hasil temuan penelitian dari wawancara dan kuesioner menunjukkan bahwa metode Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) memberikan pengaruh positif dalam pembelajaran kosakata di kelas, yaitu meningkatnya partisipasi pemelajar, kemampuan kosakata reseptif dan produktif, dan kolaborasi di antara pemelajar.

This study aimed at investigating the effect of vocabulary teaching in procedure texts using Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) and traditional method at XI IPS 1 and XI IPS 2 at SMA Negeri 33 Jakarta. The research was carried out in the English classes at Social Sciences Class, which received the treatment of teaching vocabulary using Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL). Another class used taditional method in teaching vocabulary. The study used the quantitative data collected through the Post-testafter the treatment, questionnaires, and interviews. The data collected from the Post-testwere analyzed by implementing a t-test using SPSS 22 and counting average scores of both groups.
The findings of the study indicate that teaching vocabulary using Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) method brings significant results. Furthermore, the results gathered from interviews and questionnaires confirmed that learners had a positive attitude towards CTL, as this method provided the students with a lot activities which created a learning environment that was fun, enjoyable, and effective for improving the students‟ vocabulary. Moreover, CTL also increased learners‟ participations, scores, and collaborations.

"Studi ini bertujuan untuk membahas mengenai fenomena penggunaan teknologi filter kecantikan di kalangan perempuan muda yang berkaitan dengan bekerjanya panoptik virtual di Instagram. Studi-studi terdahulu menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan filter kecantikan dilatarbelakangi oleh kehadiran filter yang merubah persepsi kecantikan ideal, usaha presentasi diri, manajemen kesan hingga perilaku narsistik. Akan tetapi, masih sedikit studi yang melihat dan mengeksplor tentang bagaimana filter kecantikan digunakan sebagai bagian dari bekerjanya panoptik virtual di media sosial Instagram. Penelitian ini berargumen bahwa bentuk aktivitas pengunggahan foto/video di Instagram yang dimaksudkan untuk dikonsumsi oleh khalayak luas membuktikan Instagram sebagai bentuk modern dari panoptik, atau disebut panoptik virtual. Akibatnya, aktivitas berbagi foto tersebut menimbulkan efek perasaan selalu berada di bawah pengawasan dan memunculkan bentuk self-disciplining, dimana para pengguna Instagram khususnya perempuan muda akan mendisiplinkan dirinya dengan tampil menggunakan filter-filter kecantikan agar sesuai dengan norma kecantikan ideal. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Instagram mencerminkan ide panoptik karena memenuhi dua aspek kekuasaan, yakni visible dan unverifiable. Potensi atas pengawasan akhirnya menyebabkan adanya modifikasi perilaku yang terlihat dari usaha subjek panoptik untuk tampil cantik di Instagram sesuai norma kecantikan ideal. Seperti penggunaan filter kecantikan dengan efek natural, riasan wajah, pakaian yang rapih, hingga penentuan angle dan pencahayaan. Dengan kata lain, subjek yang secara sukarela menciptakan visibilitas akan menjadi supervisor atas dirinya sendiri. Sementara pengawasan dan pendisiplinan diri berjalan, terjadi normalisasi penilaian dimana subjek panoptik diklasifikasikan, dinilai, dikoreksi sesuai norma untuk menciptakan apa yang disebut docile body dan homogenitas. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode wawancara mendalam dan observasi pada perempuan muda yang aktif dalam menggunakan teknologi filter kecantikan di Instagram.

This study aims to discuss the phenomenon of beauty filter technology among young women related to the work of virtual panoptic on Instagram. Previous studies have shown that the use of beauty filters is motivated by the presence of filters that change the perception of ideal beauty, self-presentation efforts, impression management to narcissistic behavior. However, there are still few studies that look at and explore how beauty filters are used as part of the virtual panoptic operation on Instagram social media. This study argues that the form of photo/video uploading activity on Instagram which is intended to be consumed by a wide audience proves Instagram as a modern form of panoptic, called virtual panopticon. As a result, the photo-sharing activity creates the effect of feeling always under surveillance and creates a form of self-discipline, where Instagram users, especially young women, will discipline themselves by appearing using beauty filters to conform to ideal beauty norms. The research findings show that Instagram reflects panoptic ideas because it fulfills two aspects of power, namely visible and unverifiable. The potential for supervision eventually leads to behavioral modifications that can be seen from the panoptic subject's efforts to look beautiful on Instagram according to the ideal beauty norms. Such as the use of beauty filters with natural effects, makeup, neat clothes, to determining angles and lighting. In other words, subjects who voluntarily create visibility will become supervisors over themselves. While surveillance and self-discipline is running, there is normalization of judgment where panoptic subjects are classified, assessed, corrected according to the norm to create what is called a docile body and homogeneity. This study uses a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews and observations of young women who are active in using beauty filter technology on Instagram.

"Salah satu hal paling penting dalam penelitian di bidang olahraga bulu tangkis adalah data pergerakan shuttlecock yang menggambarkan trayektori dan kecepatan shuttlecock. Terdapat beberapa teknik yang dapat dipakai untuk memperoleh data tersebut, salah satunya dengan menggunakan teknik image processing, seperti teknik videografi atau optoelektronik. Kelebihan menggunakan kamera untuk mendeteksi gerakan sebuah obyek antara lain biayanya yang cukup murah bila dibandingkan laser dan radar serta kemudahan untuk mendapatkan alat-alat yang dibutuhkan.
Adapun masalah yang dihadapi dalam membangun sistem ini adalah di dunia nyata shuttlecock bergerak dalam ruang tiga dimensi, sedangkan kamera hanya menangkap gambar dua dimensi. Karena itulah digunakan metode epipolar geometry stereo vision yang dioptimasi dengan algoritma camshift berbasis Kalman filter. Metode ini dipilih karena fleksibilitasnya dalam penentuan obyek sehingga obyek dapat dianggap sebagai satu titik ataupun rekonstruksi dari titik-titik yang sama yang dilihat dari prespektif kamera yang berbeda. Hasil pengujian sistem pada obyek bergerak menunjukkan sistem dapat mendeteksi rata-rata 83.33 persen trayektori shuttlecock dengan persentase deteksi rata-rata dalam satu trayektori 85.54 persen.

One of the most important thing in a badminton sport science research is the data of shuttlecock movements that shows its trajectory and velocity. There are several techniques that can be used to get this, one of them is using image processing techniques, such as videography or optoelectronic techniques. The advantage of using camera to detect motion of an object is the cost is quite low when compared to laser and radar as well as easy to get the tools needed.
The problems encountered in building this system is in the real world the shuttlecock move in three-dimensional space, while the camera only captures a two-dimensional image. Because of that, the epipolar geometry stereo vision algorithm method is used. This method is optimized with Kalman filter based camshift algorithm. This method was chosen because of its flexibility in the determination of the object so that the object can be regarded as one point or reconstructed as same points as seen from the perspective of different cameras. The result of the test shows that the system can detect an average of 83.33 percent shuttlecock trajectory with an average detection persentages in the trajectory 85.54 percent.
