"Demand for a nursing career in Malaysia has increased, although it has not been a popular course of choice among students. Understanding the perceptions of students about nursing may help identify any misconception toward the profession and their consideration to choose nursing as a career. This study aimed to identify the perceptions of secondary school students about nursing and their potential interest in joining a nursing career. A cross-sectional study using convenience sampling was conducted among 155 students by administering a High School Students Self-Administered Questionnaire from three selected secondary schools in Kuantan, Pahang Malaysia. Overall, the respondents positively perceived the nursing profession, although several parts were viewed negatively. Despite having a positive notion about nursing, only 18.1% of the respondents were interested to select nursing as their career and a majority of them were women. In conclusion, no significant difference in perceptions about nursing and consideration to choose nursing as a career was found. Nevertheless, the image of nurses and a nursing career need to be improved in the eye of students and societies. In addition, the students were not aware of the benefits of nursing with several misconceptions of genders and doctor’s aid. Overall, the status of nursing in Malaysia should be enhanced to make it a valuable career."

"Kematangan karir adalah kemampuan serta kesiapan individu untuk membuat keputusan karir. Pengalaman bekerja merupakan salah satu dimensi dari pembentukan kematangan karir remaja dan status keputusan karir merupakan salah satu aspek spesifik dari kematangan karir. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara pengalaman praktek kerja lapangan dan status keputusan karir terhadap kematangan karir, dengan nilai R sebesar 0,424 pada variabel pengalaman prakek kerja lapangan terhadap kematangan karir dengan nilai signifikansi 0,000 < α (0,005). Kemudian nilai R sebesar 0,231 pada variabel status keputusan karir terhadap kematangan karir dengan nilai signifikansi 0,002 < α (0,005). Variabel pengalaman praktek kerja lapangan memiliki nilai beta (0,447) lebih besar dibandingkan nilai beta variabel status keputusan karir (0,424), maka dapat diantara dua variabel independen disimpulkan bahwa variabel pengalaman prakek kerja lapangan memiliki pengaruh lebih besar terhadap variabel dependen (kematangan karir) jika dibandingkan dengan variabel status keputusan karir. Untuk melihat perbedaan skor kematangan karir antara siswa SMA dengan siswa SMK, penelitian ini memberikan gambaran bahwa mayoritas siswa SMA dan SMK telah mencapai kematangan karir tinggi dengan perbandingan persentase 31,68 : 46,58. Secara signifikan, siswa SMK yang telah mencapai kematangan karir tinggi lebih banyak dibandingkan siswa SMA.

Career maturity is individual's readiness to make a career decision. Work experience (Internship experience) is one dimension of career maturity and more specific aspect of career maturity is career decision status. The result show that internship experience and career decision status has an influences on career maturity, with R 0,424 and sig 0< α 0,005 on internship experience and R 0,231 and sig 0,002< α 0,005 on career decision status. Internship experience has Beta (0,447) and career decision status has Beta (0,424), the result shows that internship experience has more influence on career maturity than career decision status. there are no differences in career maturity scores in high school students and vocational school students, but the vocational student has more students than high school students in career maturity. "

"The objectives of this research are to 1) find out the profile of student’s learningmotivation in Physics class measured by aspects such as Attention, Relevation, Confidence,and Satisfaction; and 2) measure the percentage of each learning motivation aspect suchas Attention, Relevation, Confidence, and Satisfaction contributed to students’ learningmotivation in Physics class. The sample of this research is 90 students from XI class ofScience Program. The data was collected through questionnaire and observation. Thequestionnaire was analyzed using descriptive quantitatively while the observation sheetwas analyzed qualitatively. The results show that: 1) the student’s learning motivationcan be categorized into high, average, and low; and 2) the percentage of each learningmotivation aspects are Attention (59,86%), Relevance (57,08%), Confidence (55,28%),and Satisfaction (60,14%). To conclude, the average level of students’ learning motivationfor Physics is in the medium and low category caused by the lack of students’ interest inlearning Physics."

"Remaja perlu melakukan aktivitas eksplorasi sebelum berkomitmen terhadap pilihan karier, akan tetapi masih banyak siswa SMA yang belum melakukan eksplorasi karier dan tidak yakin dengan pilihan kariernya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran konsep diri akademik dalam memperantarai hubungan antara regulasi diri dalam belajar dan komitmen terhadap pilihan karier pada siswa SMA. Komitmen terhadap pilihan karier adalah kondisi ketika seseorang yakin pada pilihan kariernya, optimis dengan masa depan kariernya dan sadar akan adanya hambatan karier. Komitmen terhadap pilihan karier penting dimiliki siswa SMA karena merupakan komponen utama dalam pembentukan identitas diri.
Penelitian ini memfokuskan pada dimensi vocational exploration and commitment, yaitu keterbukaan untuk mengeksplorasi berbagai pilihan karier sebelum berkomitmen pada pilihan karier tertentu.
Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan partisipan penelitian berjumlah 315 orang siswa SMA kelas X-XI. Pengukuran komitmen terhadap pilihan karier dilakukan dengan alat ukur Commitment to Career Choices Scale skala vocational exploraton and commitment. Pengukuran regulasi diri dalam belajar menggunakan Motivated Strategies and Learning Questionnaire, sedangkan konsep diri akademik diukur dengan menggunakan Academic Self Concept for Adolescents Scale.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa regulasi diri dalam belajar memengaruhi komitmen terhadap pilihan karier melalui konsep diri akademik. Keterampilan regulasi diri dalam belajar yang diterapkan dengan konsisten akan membentuk konsep diri akademik yang positif dan berdampak pada meningkatnya komitmen terhadap pilihan karier pada siswa SMA.

Adolescents need to explore before committing to career choice, but there are still many high school students who have not done career exploration and are unsure of their career choices. This study aims to determine the role of academic self concept in mediating the relationship between self regulation learning and commitment to career choice among high school students.Commitment to career choice is a condition includes self confident of one's career choice, a positive sense of one's vocational future and an awareness of potential obstacles. Commitment to career choice is important for high school students because it is a major component in the identity formation process.
This research focuses on the dimensions of vocational exploration and commitment, namely openness to explore career choices before committing to a particular career choice.
This research uses quantitative approach with 315 students of high school students of X XI class. Measurement of commitment to career choice is done by measuring tool Commitment to Career Choices Scale vocational exploraton scale and commitment. Measurement of self regulation in learning using Motivated Strategies and Learning Questionnaire, while the academic self concept was measured using the Academic Self Concept for Adolescents Scale.
The results show that self regulation in learning affects commitment to career choice through academic self concept. The self regulated skills in applied learning consistently will shape the positive academic self concept and impact on the increased commitment to career choice among high school students.

"Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor apa saja yang dapat mempengaruhi mahasiswa untuk memilih akuntan publik sebagai pilihan karier. Analisis dilakukan dengan melakukan penelitian menggunakan kuesioner yang disebar kepada 135 responden yang merupakan mahasiswa tingkat akhir Program Studi Akuntansi Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis Universitas Indonesia FEB UI . Selain menggunakan kuesioner, metode wawancara terstuktur dilakukan kepada enam orang responden. Dalam penelitian ini, faktor yang dianggap dapat mempengaruhi mahasiswa memilih karier sebagai akuntan publik terdiri atas lima faktor yaitu potensi diri, ketidakcocokan, daya tarik profesi, tekanan pekerjaan, serta sosial dan lingkungan.Penelitian ini menggunakan model regresi logistik.
Hasil regresi menunjukkan bahwa secara serentak seluruh faktor berpengaruh terhadap pemilihan karier sebagai akuntan publik. Namun berdasarkan uji parsial hanya terdapat tiga faktor yang secara signifikan mempengaruhi mahasiswa dalam memilih karier sebagai akuntan publik yaitu daya tarik profesi, tekanan pekerjaan, serta sosial dan lingkungan.Faktor daya tarik profesi dan sosial dan lingkungan secara signifikan berpengaruh positif terhadap pemilihan karier mahasiswa akuntansi sebagai akuntan publik. Sedangkan faktor tekanan pekerjaan secara signifikan berpengaruh negatif terhadap pemilihan karier mahasiswa akuntansi sebagai akuntan publik. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa faktor ekstrinsik dan pengaruh dari pihak luar secara signifikan mempengaruhi pemilihan karier mahasiswa sebagai akuntan publik.

The purpose of this study is to determine any factor that could influence accounting student in becoming a public accountant. The analysis was done by conducting research through questionnaires distributed to 135 senior year accounting students in Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Indonesia. Other than using questionnaires, structured interview was done to six respondents. On this research, the factors considered influencing students to choose public accountant as a career consist of self potential, incompatibility between personality and profession , profession attractiveness, work pressure, and social environment.This research used logistic regression model.
The result shows that all factors simultaneously affect the choice of career as public accountant. However, based on partial test conducted, there are only three significant factors that affect students to choose public accountant as career which are profession attractiveness, work pressure, and social environment. Profession attractiveness and social environment have positive significant effects on students rsquo career choice as public accountant. While work pressure has negative significant effects on students rsquo career choice as public accountant. This result shows that extrinsic factors and influence from external parties significanly affect students rsquo career choice as public accountant.

"Penelitian ini berisi tentang faktor-faktor apa saja yang dapat mempengaruhi minat mahasiswa dalam memilih karir di bidang akuntansi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor apa saja yang dapat mempengaruhi minat mahasiswa dalam pemilihan karir, baik yang berprofesi sebagai akuntan maupun yang tidak. Analisis dilakukan dengan melakukan penelitian melalui kuesioner yang disebarkan pada responden yang berasal dari tiga universitas yang berbeda. Pertama, faktor yang mempengaruhi minat mahasiswa dalam memilih karir di bidang akuntansi terdiri atas sembilan faktor. Kedua, faktor yang mempengaruhi mahasiswa tidak memilih karir di bidang akuntansi terdiri atas delapan faktor. Hasil analisis dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat tiga faktor yang mempengaruhi minat mahasiswa dalam memilih karir di bidang akuntansi, antara lain salary, independent dan business. Sedangkan faktor yang mempengaruhi mahasiswa tidak memilih karir di bidang akuntansi adalah other fields salary.

This study contains factors that can affect student interest in choosing a career in accounting. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that can affect student interest in the choice of careers, both work as accountants or not. The analysis was done by conducting research through questionnaires distributed to the respondents came from three different universities. First, the factors that affect student interest in choosing a career in accounting consists of nine factors. Second, the factors that affect students do not choose a career in accounting consists of eight factors. The results of the analysis in this study shows that there are three factors that affect the interest of students in choosing a career in accounting, such as salary, independent and business. While the factors that affect students do not choose a career in accounting is the other field salary.

"Siswa SMK yang menjalani kurikulum berorientasi kerja yang dilengkapi kegiatan magang, diharapkan untuk dapat memilih pilihan karir yang sesuai bidang studinya. Walaupun begitu, hasil wawancara awal menunjukkan siswa SMK masih mengalami kesulitan dalam pengambilan keputusan karirnya. Seharusnya melalui pengalaman magang ini siswa SMK memiliki kecerdasan emosional dan goal commitment yang dapat membuat mereka tidak mengalami kesulitan dalam pengambilan keputusan karirnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peran goal commitment sebagai mediator dalam hubungan antara kecerdasan emosional dan kesulitan pengambilan keputusan karir. Penelitian dilakukan pada satu SMK di Kabupaten Bogor pada 173 partisipan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa goal commitment terbukti berperan sebagai mediator parsial pada hubungan antara kecerdasan emosional dan kesulitan pengambilan keputusan karir. Dalam penelitian ini juga diuraikan mengenai keterbatasan dan saran-saran terkait.

Vocational high school students experienced a specially-designed curriculum with an internship program to accommodate them on transitioning into the working industry. Elicitation studies show that vocational high school students had career decision making difficulties. The internship program is supposed to enrich students’ emotional intelligence and goal commitment that would prevent career decision making difficulties to occur. This research aims to study the mediation effect of goal commitment in the relationship between emotional intelligence and career decision making difficulties. This research is conducted in a vocational high school in Bogor with a total of 173 participants. Result shows that goal commitment plays a partial mediation role in the relationship of emotional intelligence and career decision making difficulties. This research will also present the limitations and suggestions for future study."
