"Slow Food began in the late 1980s as a response to the spread of fast food establishments and as a larger statement against globalization and the perceived deterioration of modern life. Since then, slow practices have permeated into other areas, including cities and territories and travel and tourism. This book provides an in-depth examination of slow food, tourism and cities, demonstrating how these elements are intertwined with one other as part of the modern search for "the good life." Part 1 locates the slow concept within the larger social setting of modernity and investigates claims made by the slow movement, examining aesthetic and instrumental values inherent to it. Part 2 explores the practices and places of slow, containing both conceptual and empirical chapters in Italy, the birthplace of the movement. Part 3 provides a comparative perspective by examining the practices in Spain, the UK, Germany and Canada.Slow Tourism, Food and Cities offers key theoretical insights and alternative perspectives on the varying practices and meanings of slow from a cultural, sociological and ethical perspective. It is a valuable text for students and scholars of sociology, geography, urban studies, social movements, travel and tourism, and food studies."

"Today's headlines report cities going bankrupt, states running large deficits, and nations stuck in high debt and stagnation. Philip Kotler, Donald Haider, and Irving Rein argue that thousands of "places" - cities, states, and nations - are in crisis, and can no longer rely on national industrial policies, such as federal matching funds, as a promise of jobs and protection. When trouble strikes, places resort to various palliatives such as chasing grants from state or federal sources, bidding for smokestack industries, or building convention centers and exotic attractions. The authors show instead that places must, like any market-driven business, become attractive "products" by improving their industrial base and communicating their special qualities more effectively to their target markets. From studies of cities and nations throughout the world, Kotler, Haider, and Rein offer a systematic analysis of why so many places have fallen on hard times, and make recommendations on what can be done to revitalize a place's economy. They show how "place wars" - battles for Japanese factories, government projects, Olympic Games, baseball team franchises, convention business, and other economic prizes - are often misguided and end in wasted money and effort. The hidden key to vigorous economic development, the authors argue, is strategic marketing of places by rebuilding infrastructure, creating a skilled labor force, stimulating local business entrepreneurship and expansion, developing strong public/private partnerships, identifying and attracting "place compatible" companies and industries, creating distinctive local attractions, building a service-friendly culture, and promoting these advantages effectively.353."

The Covid-19 pandemic has increased the awareness of travelers and stakeholders about the importance of implementing slow tourism as a tourism activity model. However, traveler’s understanding of slow tourism as manifestation of quality and sustainable tourism is still low. It requires a rational narrative message to make the concept completely understood and fully implemented. This study aims to analyze how narrative messages about slow tourism are constructed into a tourism promotional video named Jiwa Jagad Jawi produced by Wonderful Indonesia as tourism promotional content in new normal era. This research is qualitative with interpretive approach through discourse analysis method. The author uses Walter Fisher's narrative paradigm to analyze how the video constructs a rational narrative message about slow tourism through each scene. The findings show that the narrative of slow tourism was constructed through a local wisdom approach with the locality aspect of the destination as a key point. Further research is needed to determine the effects of slow tourism narratives in tourism promotional videos on traveler’s interest and decision to visit destinations. Stakeholders also require to identifying locality aspect from other Wonderful Indonesia destinations to be used as key narratives of communication, including to build messages about slow tourism."

Permasalahan optimasi ini merupakan bentuk Pickup and Delivery Problem with Time Windows (PDPTW).

Online food delivery services are evolving with the development of technology. In an online food delivery service, a courier picks up an order from a merchant and delivers it to the customer. In line with the increasing demand for online food delivery services, service providers are introducing double-order schemes, where one courier can pick up orders from two different merchants and deliver them to two different customers. From the perspective of the service provider company, the double-order scheme is expected to improve service efficiency by reducing operational cost. The research in this thesis discusses online food delivery route optimization by applying a double-order scheme that aims to minimize operational costs by considering time windows to ensure food quality is maintained. This optimization problem is a form of Pickup and Delivery Problem with Time Windows (PDPTW). The tabu search method is used as a method for this online food delivery route optimization problem. Tabu search finds the best solution by exploring various possibilities and saving the best solution that has been tried before in the tabu list. Solutions in the tabu list are considered taboo and will not be revisited to prevent repeated exploration of solutions. The implementation of the tabu search method was performed on simulated data with 50 orders with 120 iterations. Online food delivery route optimization by applying the double-order scheme produces an optimal solution with a 36,36% decrease in operational costs. "

To improve self-esteem, individuals will feel positive and negative self-esteem, because self-esteem has subjective feedback. Someone is considered to never be able to build a sense of confidence or positive value in him/her permanently, if only based on the value of things that will certainly change. Individuals can have low self-esteem if they are not aware of their values or self-worth.
