"Shaping Social Enterprise' offers the first tested framework that helps identify institutional influences affecting social enterprise. For well over a decade, scholars and practitioners have known that social enterprise looks different in different contexts but few have attempted to understand why. Kerlin's work in this area is the first to consider the influence of large institutions such as government, economy, civil society, and culture on the development of social enterprise. This book provides an in-depth assessment of Kerlin's theoretically-based framework for understanding these institutional and other influences by means of quantitative analysis as well as qualitative critiques from eight countries that help validate and refine it. The concluding chapter offers a revision of the framework based on the critiques. New features include more attention to culture and micro- and meso-level forces as well as the introduction of optional framework components that address rarely occurring country situations. Two new social enterprise country models are also added and new applications of the framework are detailed."

"Studi literatur ini dilatarbelakangi oleh peran Indonesia yang menjadi negara transit bagi pengungsi dan pencari suaka meskipun tidak meratifikasi Konvensi Pengungsi 1951 dan Protokol 1967. Dihadapi dengan perpindahan secara paksa, ketidakpastian hukum dari negara penerima, dan keterbatasan pemenuhan haknya, para pengungsi dan pencari suaka yang tinggal di Indonesia pun mengalami kerentanan. Urgensi dilakukannya studi literatur ini ialah untuk menganalisis peran, potensi, dan hambatan kewirausahaan sosial untuk bisa diterapkan dalam rangka meningkatkan kesejahteraan mereka. Studi literatur ini dilaksanakan pada tahun 2022 dengan metode penelitian non reaktif (unobtrusive) dan jenis tinjauan pustaka tinjauan konteks dan tinjauan integratif. Peneliti melaksanakan penelusuran terhadap sejumlah literatur mengenai kewirausahaan sosial di Indonesia, penanganan dan regulasi mengenai pengungsi dan pencari suaka di Indonesia, pelaksanaan kewirausahaan sosial yang melibatkan pengungsi asing di Indonesia dan negara lainnya, serta penelitian mengenai respons masyarakat terhadap keberadaan pengungsi asing dan pencari suaka. Melalui studi literatur ini, peneliti mendapati bahwa kewirausahaan sosial berperan dalam memberikan dampak positif secara material dan non material bagi pengungsi dan pencari suaka. Peneliti juga menemukan beberapa faktor yang mendukung implementasi kewirausahaan bagi pengungsi dan pencari suaka di Indonesia, yakni modal yang dimiliki pengungsi berupa keterampilan yang dapat ditingkatkan melalui pelatihan dan pemberdayaan, respons positif dari masyarakat lokal terhadap gagasan pengungsi untuk berwirausaha, upaya untuk meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat akan isu pengungsi, keberadaan ruang secara informal bagi pengungsi untuk merintis usaha, model kewirausahaan sosial NPO (Non-Profit Organization) yang bisa diterapkan, serta model pemberian hak bekerja secara terbatas yang bisa dipertimbangkan secara nasional. Namun, peneliti juga mengidentifikasi adanya beberapa faktor yang berpotensi untuk menghambat implimentasi tersebut, yakni hambatan keterbatasan modal finansial yang dimiliki pengungsi, kesulitan berbahasa Indonesia yang dialami pengungsi, miskonsepsi dan kesadaran yang rendah akan isu pengungsi oleh masyarakat lokal, dan larangan bagi pengungsi dan pencari suaka untuk bekerja secara formal. Hasil studi literatur ini diharapkan dapat berkontribusi dalam kajian kewirausahaan sosial pada mata kuliah Dimensi Sosial Ekonomi bagi Kesejahteraan Sosial pada program studi Ilmu Kesejahteraan Sosial FISIP UI, dalam konteks fenomena keberadaan pengungsi dan pencari suaka di Indonesia.

This literature study is prompted by the role of Indonesia as a transit country for refugees and asylum seekers despite being a non-signatory country to the 1951 Refugee Convention and the 1967 Protocol. Faced with forced displacement, legal uncertainty from their country of asylum, and limited fulfillment of their rights, refugees and asylum seekers living in Indonesia experience vulnerability. The urgency of this study is to analyze the the role, potential, and barriers of social entrepreneurship to be implemented in order to improve their well-being. This literature is conducted in 2022 with a nonreactive (unobtrusive) research method that combines context review and integrative review. The author reviews a number of literatures regarding social entrepreneurship in Indonesia, refugee management and policies in Indonesia, the implementation of social entrepreneurship involving refugees in Indonesia and other countries, as well as research papers on community responses to the presence of foreigners and asylum seekers. In this literature study, the author finds that social entrepreneurship plays a role in providing material and non-material positive impacts on refugees and asylum seekers. The author also finds that there are several factors that support the implementation of social enterpreneurship for refugees and asylum seekers in Indonesia, namely the capital owned by refugees in the form of skills that can be improved through empowerment programs, positive responses from local communities to the idea of entrepreneurship for refugees, efforts to increase public awareness of refugee issues, the existence of an informal space for refugees to start a business, an NPO (Non-Profit Organization) social entrepreneurship model that can be applied, as well as a models that allow limited work rights for refugees that can be considered to be applied nationally. However, this research also finds several factors that might hinder the implementation, namely the limitations of the financial capital owned by refugees, difficulties in speaking Indonesian experienced by refugees, misconceptions and low awareness of refugee issues by local communities, and prohibitions for refugees and refugees asylum to work formally. The findings of this literature study are expected to contribute to the study of social entrepreneurship in the Socio-Economic Dimensions for Social Welfare course in the Social Welfare study program of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences University of Indonesia, in the context of the phenomenon of the existence of refugees and asylum seekers in Indonesia."

"Skripsi ini membahas mengenai pelaksanaan pembinaan UMKM dalam program Kemitraan PT. Telkom Indonesia Divre II sebagai wujud tanggung jawab sosial perusahaan serta dampaknya. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian studi kasus. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pembinaan UMKM oleh PT. Telkom Indonesia telah dilaksanakan dengan baik sesuai dengan Peraturan Menteri Negara Badan Usaha Milik Negara Nomor : PER-05/ MBU/2007, meskipun masih memiliki beberapa kekurangan. Pembinaan tersebut diberikan dalam bentuk pemberian motivasi kewirausahaan dan bantuan perluasan akses pasar. Pembinaan ini memberikan dampak yang nyata bagi peningkatan usaha maupun kualitas diri mitra binaan sebagai pelaku wirausaha.

This thesis discusses the development of SMEs in the implementation of PT Telkom Indonesia Divre II partnership program as a form of corporate social responsibility and the impact. The approach used in this research is qualitative with case study research type. The results show that the development of SMEs by PT. Telkom Indonesia has implemented in accordance with the Regulation of Minister of State Owned Enterprises Number: PER-05 / MBU/2007, although it still has some shortcomings. Guidance is given in the form of entrepreneurial motivation and support expansion of market access. This research aims to analyze social entrepreneurship through social innovation programs conducted through crowdfunding platform Kitabisa.com. The approach used in this research is qualitative approach with case study research method. The data collection method that will be done in this research are observation, in depth interviews, supporting documents, and audiovisual data. "Tesis ini adalah hasil penelitian antropologis tentang kewirausahaan sosial pada sebuah lembaga swadaya masyarakat (LSM). Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dengan memanfaatkan penyelesaian sengketa lahan antara warga dengan perusahaan perkebunan kelapa sawit di Kalimantan Barat, LSM dapat mempertahankan eksistensinya. Akses terhadap penyelesaian sengketa lahan secara non litigasi di tingkat internasional mampu dicapai LSM melalui mekanisme kedekatan dengan pasar, dan tenaga kerja dan kerja-kerja (labor) peningkatan kapasitas masyarakat yang dilakukan LSM dalam rangka membangun otoritas atas perwalian penyelesaian sengketa. Tesis ini memahami akses terhadap penyelesaian sengketa di tingkat internasional tidak akan terwujud tanpa kemampuan memanfaatkan sumberdaya yang ada menjadi modal (kapitalisasi), mengakumulasikannya, dan mempertukarkannya dengan subyek lain dalam berbagai interaksi sosial.

This thesis is the result of anthropological research about social entrepreneurship of the non-governmental organization (NGO). The thesis argues that the existence of an NGO in West Kalimantan could be maintained by employing land dispute settlement between community and oil palm company. Access to land dispute settlement through non-litigation process at international level were able to achieve by the NGO through market mechanism, strengthening and building community capacities to build authority on dispute settlement facilitation. This thesis understands that access on dispute settlement at international level will not be achieved without ability to capitalizing available resources, accumulate it and exchange it with other subject in different social interactions."
