Nilai etika di mata publik adalah suatu hal yang bersifat pokok untuk sebuah perusahaan. Perusahaan tersebut akan diharapkan agar rnenjaga nilai etika dalarn bekerja dan kehidupan rutinitas bagi para pekerja agar dapat diterirna rnasyarakat. Thesis ini berpusat pada skandal kasus Cronulla Sharks Rugby Leagues Club dan Essendon Football Club yang terjadi pada tahun 2013. Makalah ini akan rnencakup apa saja yang terjadi saat peristiwa tersebut berlangsung dan bagairnana peristiwa tersebut dapat terjadi.
ABSTRACT
Ethical considerations are a fundamental component of a company. Such company is expected to maintain ethical behavior in their working and personal lives so that it is accepted by the community. This assignment stresses on Cronulla Sharks Rugby Leagues Club Drugs Scandal and Essendon Football Club Drug Scandal, which happened in 2013. It covers on what happened during the scandal, what and how could the scandal happened."

Pada awal 2013, dua klub olahraga utama profesional Cronulla Sharks dari NFL dan AFL Essendon terungkap terlibat dalam penyelidikan ASADA berkaitan dengan dugaan penggunaan obat-obatan terlarang oleh pemain kedua klub tersebut. Hasil penyelidikan menemukan bahwa kedua tim menyewa ilmuwan olahraga yang sama, Stephen Danks, yang kemudian memprakarsai program untuk memasok pemain dengan zat yang dilarang termasuk CJC-1295, GHRP-6, dan AOD-9604. Obat – obatan terlarang semakin marak digunakan di dalam bidang olahraga di 4 dekade terakhir ini. Hadiah dalam bentuk uang yang akan diberikan apabila memenangkan suatu pertandingan menyebabkan keinginan yang besar untuk
menggunakan obat – obatan dimana bisa meningkatkat performa atlet. Tetapi,penggunaan obat-obatan ini akan menghasilkan efek yang buruk dimana dapat menodai citra olahraga itu sendiri dan merusak hubungan baik dengan para pemberi sponsor. Dari pembahasan masalah bisa dilihat, Menggunakan doping memungkinkan terjadinya permasalahan etika. Lebih spesifiknya lagi, obat –
obatan ini bisa terkirim ke atlet karena corporate governance yang lemah di dalam entiti. Di lain sisi, tidak adanya perbedaan yang signifikan di laporan keuangan dan prinsip corporate governance antara organisasi olahraga dan perusahaan Australia yang terdaftar.
ABSTRACT
There has been an increasing number of drug use problem in sport over the last
four decades. Financial stakes involved in professional sport create powerful
incentives for the use of performance enhancing substances. However, at the same
time, detection of drug use in sport can undermine the good standing of sport,
bringing it into disrepute, and fracturing the relationship it has with sponsors.
Results indicate that using drug enhancing performance will likely to raise issue in
ethics Furthermore, the drug itself can be administered to players because the
entities have applied weak corporate governance. On the other hand, the
annual/financial report and corporate governance practices are alike between
sporting organisation and listed Australian company., There has been an increasing number of drug use problem in sport over the last

Pada tahun 2013 ditemukan sebuah skandal yang berhubungan dengan obat-obatan terlarang pada dua tim sepak bola asal Australia. Makalah ini akan membahas dengan mendetail kode etik dari Accounting Professional and Ethical Standards Board APESB apa saja yang dilanggar dari tim ini, hasil serta sanksi apa saja yang diberikan, serta perbandingan antara kedua tim bola ini dengan organisasi yang memiliki tata kelola perusahaan yang baik.
ABSTRACT
In order to maintain a sustainable organisation in every field of industry, a great level of corporate governance must be conducted. There was a drug scandal in two of Australian Football Teams in 2013 that revealed both teams are lacking in corporate governance and breaching many of ethical conduct. This paper will discuss in details of which codes of Accounting Professional and Ethical Standards Board APESB that they breached, the overcome and consequences of the situation, and comparison to other organisation that has excellent corporate governance. "

Analisis pengaruh penerapan tata kelola perusahaan dan komitmen etika bisnis terhadap penilaian perusahaan menggunakan asean cg scorecard = Analysis of the influence of good corporate governance implementation and business ethic commitment to corporate valuation using asean cg scorecard
"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara tata kelola perusahaan dan komitmen etika bisnis terhadap penilaian perusahaan. Penelitian menghasilkan kesimpulan bahwa perusahaan dengan tata kelola perusahaan yang baik memiliki biaya modal ekuitas yang lebih rendah. Sejalan dengan hasil tersebut, perusahaan dengan komitmen etika bisnis yang tinggi terbukti memiliki nilai biaya modal ekuitas yang lebih rendah.
Penelitian ini juga membuktikan bahwa pengaruh tata kelola perusahaan pada perusahaan dengan komitmen etika bisnis yang tinggi lebih lemah dibandingkan dengan perusahaan dengan komitmen etika bisnis yang rendah. Hal ini mengindikasikan hubungan antara tata kelola perusahaan dengan komitmen etika bisnis adalah bersifat subtitusi.
Pada akhirnya, penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa perusahaan dapat menurunkan biaya modal ekuitas dan meningkatkan nilai perusahaan dengan mengimplementasikan tata kelola perusahaan yang lebih komprehensif dan berkomitmen dalam melaksanakan etika bisnis yang baik.
The study intends to understand the influence of good corporate governance and business ethic commitment to corporate valuation. The study has shown that companies with good corporate governance had lower cost of equity capital compared to other companies with lower commitment on their corporate governance.
Followed with these results, companies with high business ethics commitments are proved to have lower cost of equity capital. Moreover, the weaker association of corporate governance founded in companies with high business ethics commitments. These result concluded that there is substitute relation between corporate governance and business ethics commitment.
Finally, this study shows that companies can lower the cost of equity capital and enhance shareholder value by implementing corporate governance more comprehensive and committed in implementing good business ethics."

"PT X sebagai BUMN yang dibentuk dengan semangat profesionalisme yang tinggi serta mengemban misi untuk rneningkatkan kesejahteraan UKMK, menetapkan komitmen untuk mengelola perusahaan secara bersih, transparan dan profesional. Dari hasil analisa dan temuan yang diperoleh di lapangan disimpulkan bahwa PT X mempunyai komitmen yang kuat dalam menerapkan prinsip-prinsip good corporate governance pada penetapan kebijakan-kebijakan perusahaan.
Penyimpangan-penyimpangan yang terjadi terutama disebabkan karena belum sempurnanya struktur organisasi, masih banyaknya kebijakan dan prosedur yang belum terbentuk dan masih belum optimalnya pengawasan yang dilakukan oleh Satuan Pengendalian Internal dan seksi compliance. Sedangkan kendala eksternal yang dihadapi perusahaan dalam menerapkan good corporate governance antara lain adalah mekanisme pemilihan Komisaris dan Direksi yang tidak transparan dan tertutup.
Berdasarkan studi yang telah dilakukan perlu adanya perbaikan-perbaikan untuk menerapkan good corporate governance pada perusahaan antara lain; perlunya Pemerintah ataupun Departemen Keuangan membuat peraturan mengenai tata cara pemilihan wakil pemerintah yang menjadi anggota Komisaris BUMN baik untuk BUMN yang kepemilìkannya 100% dimiliki oleh Pemenntah maupun BUMN yang hanya sebagian sahamnya dimiliki Pernerintah, perlunya Komisaris independen untuk melindungi stakehokiers lainnya dari kepentingan pemegang saham dalam hal ini kepentingan Pemerintah dan pembentukan Komite Audit.
Akhir kata, karya akhir ini diharapkan ada manfaatnya bagi manajemen PT X atau paling tidak bagi yang ingin menerapkan prinsip good corporate governance."

Penulis menggunakan data dari sumber sekunder untuk menganalisis masalah tersebut. Hasilnya mengungkapkan bahwa klub olahraga memiliki strategi yang berbeda dengan perusahaan publik. Kesalahan dalam penerapan tata kelola perusahaan berkontribusi pada terjadinya skandal di klub olahraga dan perusahaan yang tercatat dalam ASX.
ABSTRACT
Corporate governance structures have a significant impact to evaluate the effective performance of organizations. This paper compared the corporate governance disclosures and practices between the sporting club and the listed company. The writer used data from secondary sources to analyze the problem. The result showed that sporting clubs have a different strategy compare to public companies. It is known that both sporting club and the listed company have several corporate governance failings that contributed to the scandal."
