"The third edition of Social anxiety : clinical, developmental, and social perspectives integrates examinations of social anxiety, shyness, and embarrassment with the research on social anxiety disorder subtypes, biological theories and cognitive-behavioral or pharmacological treatment outcome studies.
Clinicians, social and developmental psychologists and behavioral geneticists have all conducted research over the past ten years which is essential to furthering our understanding and treatment of social anxiety disorders. This book weaves together research findings gathered by renowned minds across these various disciplines, and deals with both theory and research. It explores what constitutes social anxiety, assesses the condition and its relationship to other psychological disorders, exploring the biological basis and treatment approaches as well. Coverage includes key issues not discussed fully by other books, including related disorders in adults and children, relationship to social competence and assertiveness, perfectionism, social skills deficit hypothesis, comparison between pharmacological and psychosocial treatments, and potential mediators of change in the treatment of social anxiety disorder.
From the Author: Although social anxiety disorder (social phobia) is widely researched topic in psychiatry, other disciplines, such as social and developmental psychology, have independently been studying the same phenomena for many years. Yet, there has been very little cross-discipline communication and integration. The main objective of the book is to integrate the findings on social anxiety from various disciplines, including clinical psychology, psychiatry, social psychology, neuroscience, and developmental psychology."

kecemasan diberikan latihan relaksasi otot progresif selama 6 minggu, 2 kali perhari.
Kualitas hidup subjek setelah
diberikan latihan relaksasi menunjukan perbaikan terutama pada ranah fungsi fisik,
keterbatasan peran akibat keterbatasan fisik, keterbatasan peran akibat keadaan
emosional, energi / kelelahan, keadaan emosional yang memberikan nilai yang
bermakna.

ABSTRACT
Background : Quite high of cardiac intervention procedures performed in hospitals as
well as the presence of anxiety after cardiac intervention will affect patient's quality
of life. Progressive muscle relaxation training is a form of relaxation training that can
overcome anxiety on subject of post cardiac intervention procedures . This research
aimed to determine subject level of anxiety symptom and quality of life after cardiac
intervention before and after progressive muscular relaxation training .
Methods : This research is an interventional study with one group pre and post
design on 7 subjects after cardiac intervention that followed phase II cardiac
rehabilitation program. Subject level of anxiety symptom and quality of life being
assessed by using Hamilton Anxiety Scale and SF 36. Subject with anxiety symptom
provided with progressive muscular relaxation training for 6 weeks, twice a day. After
6 weeks subject level of anxiety symptom and quality of life revaluated .
Result : There were significant improvement in level of anxiety symptom (p <0,028)
(IK 7,8-17,3), mean level of anxiety symptom before intervention was 19,2 (SB6) and
mean after intervention 6,2 (SB 4). Subject quality of life was also improved
particularly at physical functioning, role limitations due to physical health, role
limitation due to emotional problem, energy/fatigue, emotional wellbeing.
Conclusion : In this research progressive muscular relaxation can improve anxiety
symptom and quality of life of patients after cardiac intervention."

This study aims to know whether individual intervention program with cognitive behavioral approach can reduce social anxiety level for a 12 years old adolescent. This program was arranged based on three level purposes of cognitive behavioral intervention approach stated by Stallard (2005). It is consists of psychoeducational session (linkage between our thinking, feeling, and behavior), identification of body respons as a sign of emotion and practice the skill to cope with it, identification of dysfunctional thought, challenge it and practice the skill to cope with it, and last is perform in front of the class. The social anxiety were measured before and after the program was applied using Social Anxiety Scale for Adolescent developed by La Greca and Lopez (1998). Based on the data obtained, it can be concluded that individual intervention program with cognitive behavioral approach is effective to reduce the social anxiety on a subject."

"[Intensive one-session treatment of specific phobias not only provides a summary of the evidence base, it also serves as a practical reference and training guide. This concise volume examines the phenomenology, epidemiology, and etiology of phobias, laying the groundwork for subsequent discussion of assessment strategies, empirically sound one-session treatment methods, and special topics. In addition, expert contributors address challenges common to exposure therapy, offer age-appropriate guidelines for treating young clients, and describe innovative computer-assisted techniques., Intensive one-session treatment of specific phobias not only provides a summary of the evidence base, it also serves as a practical reference and training guide.
