Penelitian ini menyarankan agar PejabatFungsional Pustakawan di bidang layanan perpustakaan meningkatkankompetensinya dalam melakukan promosi perpustakaan dan melakukan kegiatanliterasi informasi. Kemudian Perpustakaan Umum Provinsi DKI Jakarta sekiranyadapat mendorong pustakawannya untuk menyertakan dirinya mengikuti ujisertifikasi pustakawan.

ABSTRACTThis thesis aims to identify the job competency of librarian functional staff inDKI’s Jakarta Public Library in the case of collection development and libraryservice based on Indonesian National Job Competency Standard (SKKNI – PRP).This thesis utilizes the qualitative approach using case study methodologicalresearch. Based on the research finding, the librarian functional staff have beenable to comprehend and conducting three general competencies, three collectiondevelopment core competencies, and four library service core competencies. Inconclusion, this research suggest the librarian to improve their competencieswithIn the field of library service. It can be improving the library promotion andthe information literacy program. Besides, the need to certificate themselves forgaining several librarian competencies."
