However, postoperative patients still limit movement and perform early ambulation after a few days postoperatively even though it has been recommended to do early ambulation exercises. The purpose of this study was to explore the experience of patients in performing early postoperative ambulation of fractures in the lower extremity. The research method used was descriptive qualitative using purposive sampling on 10 participants through semi-structured interviews (open-ended question) conducted at Fatmawati Hospital, Jakarta. The results of this study produced themes, namely: 1) recognizing the physical perceived 2) the need to support early ambulation 3) the benefits of early ambulation.
