"Latar Belakang : Prevalensi konstipasi pada ibu hamil berkisar 10-40%. Perubahan hormon dan mekanik selama masa kehamilan berpengaruh terhadap saluran cerna. Menurunnya gerakan peristaltik menyebabkan absorpsi cairan di usus besar meningkat sehingga konsistensi feses menjadi semakin padat yang pada akhirnya dapat menimbulkan gejala konstipasi. Hidrasi yang cukup dapat memperbaiki konsistensi feses. Sedangkan konsumsi serat makanan diketahui mampu meningkatkan massa feses sehingga meningkatkan motilitas usus dan memperpendek waktu transit di usus besar.
Tujuan : Mengetahui hubungan asupan volume cairan dan jumlah asupan serat makanan dengan gejala konstipasi pada ibu hamil.
Metode : Penelitian epidemiologis dengan disain potong lintang. Sebanyak 99 subjek yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi dilakukan wawancara, pemeriksaan antropometri, pemeriksaan fisik dan USG. Dilakukan pencatatan minum selama 7 hari, dilanjutkan wawancara food recall 24 jam. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Puskesmas Kecamatan Cempaka Putih pada bulan Maret 2014.
Hasil: Insiden gejala konstipasi pada ibu hamil sebesar 43%. Rerata volume asupan cairan ibu hamil per hari pada penelitian ini adalah 2683+682 ml, sementara median jumlah asupan serat makanan per hari adalah 9,1 (2,9 , 31,4) gram. Terdapat hubungan antara volume asupan cairan dengan gejala konstipasi pada ibu hamil (p 0,008). Tidak terdapat hubungan bermakna antara jumlah asupan serat makanan dengan gejala konstipasi pada ibu hamil (p 0,594). Volume asupan cairan <2600 ml/hari berisiko mengalami gejala konstipasi (RO 3,077; IK 95% : 1,33 , 7,119). Jumlah asupan serat <12,6 gram/hari berisiko mengalami gejala konstipasi (RO 1,28; IK 95% : 0,515-3,182).
Kesimpulan: Volume asupan cairan berhubungan dengan keluhan konstipasi pada ibu hamil, namun tidak ada hubungan bermakna antara jumlah asupan serat makanan dengan keluhan konstipasi pada ibu hamil.

Background: Constipation in the pregnancy ranges about 10-40%. Hormonal and mechanical changes during pregnancy influence the gastrointestinal tract. The decline in peristaltic increase the fluid absorption in the large intestine which makes more solid fecal mass. Sufficient hydration can improve the consistency of feces and dietary fiber known to increase the fecal mass which will improve bowel movements and shortening the transit time in the large intestine.
Objectives: Knowing association of fluid and dietary fiber intake with constipation symptoms in pregnancy.
Methods: This is an epidemiologic cross sectional study, taking place in Puskesmas Kecamatan Cempaka Putih on March 2014. Among 99 subjects who met the inclusion criteria were conducted interviews, antrophometric, physical and ultrasound examination. Seven days consecutive daily fluid intake were recorded, then the 24 hour dietary recall was held to each subject.
Result: The incidens of constipation symptoms in pregnancy ranges 43%. The rates of daily fluid intake volume of pregnant women in this study was 2683+682 ml, and the median of daily dietary fiber intake was 9,1 (2,9 , 31,4) grams. There was association between fluid intake volume with constipation symptoms (p value 0,008) but there was no association between dietary fiber intake with constipation symptoms (p value 0,594). Fluid intake volume lower than 2600 ml/day and dietary fiber intake lower than 12,6 gram/day were having increasing risk for constipation symptoms (OR 3,077; CI 95% : 1,33 , 7,119 and OR 1,28; 95% CI : 0,515 , 3,182, respectively).
Conclusion: There was association between fluid intake volume and constipation symptoms, but there was no association between fiber intake and constipation symptoms in pregnancy. Nevertheless there are higher odds ratio in the pregnant women with lower fluid intake volume or dietary fiber to get constipation symptoms."

"Bifidobacterium merupakan salah satu mikrobiota yang memberikan manfaat bagi kesehatan manusia termasuk pada kehamilan, dan penting pada proses kolonisasi mikrobiota usus bayi baru lahir. Jumlah Bifidobacterium usus pada dewasa relatif stabil, namun belum diketahui jumlahnya pada ibu hamil trimester ketiga, terutama di Indonesia. Asupan makanan termasuk serat dapat mempengaruhi pertumbuhan Bifidobacterium, termasuk serat. Stimulasi serat terhadap pertumbuhan Bifidobacterium dapat berupa stimulasi langsung sebagai prebiotik, atau secara tidak langsung sebagai substrat yang dapat difermentasi dan menurunkan pH kolon dan meningkatkan enzim intestinal alkaline phospatase (IAP). Dua mekanisme terakhir secara tidak langsung menurunkan jumlah bakteri patogen sehingga jumlah Bifidobacterium meningkat. Penelitian potong lintang di seluruh Puskesmas Kecamatan di Jakarta Timur pada bulan Maret-Juni 2015 dilakukan untuk menilai korelasi asupan serat dengan jumlah Bifidobacterium usus ibu hamil trimester ketiga. Lima puluh dua subjek menyelesaikan prosedur penelitian. Asupan serat dinilai dengan Food Frequency Questionnaire semikuantitatif, dan kuantifikasi Bifidobacterium dengan real time PCR. Nilai asupan serat adalah 18,9 (5,6?43,0) g/hari, dan 92,3% subjek tidak memenuhi AKG. Jumlah Bifidobacterium usus adalah 7,7 (5,12?9,50) log sel/g feses. Tidak terdapat korelasi bermakna (p >0,05) antara asupan serat total, serat larut dan tidak larut, dengan jumlah Bifidobacterium usus (r = 0,223; r = 0,245; r = 0,2).

Bifidobacterium is one of the beneficial microbiota in human health, including in pregnancy and important for first intestinal microbiota colonization in newborn. The number of intestinal Bifidobacterium in adults is relatively stable, but still unknown in the third trimester of pregnancy, especially in Indonesia. Dietary intake is one of the factors influencing the growth of Bifidobacterium, including dietary fiber. Dietary fiber stimulation act directly as a prebiotic, or indirectly as a fermentation substrate that promote the decreasing of colonic pH, and increasing intestinal alkaline phospatase (IAP) enzyme, resulting a decrease of the amount of pathogenic microbiota. A cross-sectional study in all district public health care in the East Jakarta, March until June 2015 was performed to assess the correlation between dietary fiber intake and the amount of intestinal Bifidobacterium in third trimester of pregnancy women. Fifty-two subjects completed the study procedures. Dietary fiber intake was assessed using semiquantitative Food Frequency Questionnaire, and instestinal Bifidobacterium was quantified using real time Polymerase Chain Reaction (rPCR). Dietary fiber intake in this study was 18.9 (5.6?43.0) g/day and 92.3% subjects did not meet the Dietary Reference Intake. The intestinal Bifidobacterium count is 7.7 (5.12?9.50) log cell/g faeces. The results show that there is no significant correlation (p > 0.05) between dietary fiber, dietary soluble fiber, and dietary insoluble fiber intake with the amount of intestinal Bifidobacterium in third trimester of pregnancy (r = 0.223; r = 0.245; r = 0.2)."

"Konstipasi fungsional merupakan salah satu masalah gastrointestinal yang paling umum terjadi. Penelitian baru-baru ini menunjukkan bahwa konstipasi fungsional juga banyak dialami oleh kelompok mahasiswa. Dampak konstipasi fungsional pada mahasiswa tidak dapat diabaikan, seperti menimbulkan perasaan tidak nyaman secara fisik dan psikososial yang berakibat pada menurunnya produktivitas dan kualitas hidup. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk megetahui proporsi kejadian konstipasi fungsional dan hubungan antara beberapa faktor risiko dengan kejadian konstipasi fungsional pada mahasiswa S1 Reguler FKM UI tahun 2023. Variabel dependen dalam penelitian ini yaitu kejadian konstipasi fungsional. Variabel independen dalam penelitian ini antara lain asupan serat pangan, asupan cairan, aktivitas fisik, jenis kelamin, stres, dan kualitas tidur. Penelitian ini dilakukan mulai Juli-Desember 2023 dengan metode penelitian kuantitatif dan desain studi cross-sectional. Responden penelitian ini merupakan mahasiswa aktif S1 Reguler FKM UI angkatan 2020-2022 sejumlah 122 orang yang dipilih melalui teknik simple random sampling. Data diperoleh melalui pengisian kuesioner secara daring melalui Google Form. Data dianalisis secara univariat dan bivariat menggunakan uji Chi-Square dan Fisher-Exact. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, didapatkan proporsi konstipasi fungsional sebesar 18,9%. Hasil analisis bivariat menunjukkan tidak ada hubungan bermakna antara asupan serat pangan, asupan cairan, aktivitas fisik, jenis kelamin, stres, dan kualitas tidur dengan kejadian konstipasi fungsional pda mahasiswa S1 Reguler FKM UI 2023. Meskipun begitu, terdapat kecenderungan bahwa kejadian konstipasi fungsional lebih banyak dialami oleh mahasiswa yang memiliki asupan serat pangan kurang dan asupan cairan kurang. Oleh karena itu, mahasiswa diharapkan meningkatkan konsumsi serat pangan dan cairan serta menerapkan gaya hidup yang lebih sehat.

Functional constipation is one of the most common gastrointestinal disorders. Recent research shows that funstional constipation also occurs in student groups. The impact of functional constipation on students cannot be ignored, as it causes feelings of physical and psychosocial discomfort, resulting in decreased productivity and quality of life. This study aims to determine the proportion of functional constipation and the relationship between several risk factors with functional constipation among undergraduate students of the Faculty of Public Health, University of Indonesia, in 2023. The dependent variable of this study is functional constipation. The independent variables in this study include dietary fiber intake, fluid intake, sex, physical activity, stress level, and sleep quality. This research was conducted from July to December 2023 using quantitative methods and a cross-sectional study design. Respondents for this study were 122 active regular undergraduate students of FKM UI form the class of 2020-2022, selected through a simple random sampling technique. Data were obtained by filling out online questionnaires via Google Forms. Data were analyzed through univariate and bivariate analyses using the Chi-Square test and Fisher-Exact test. Based on the results, it was found that the proportion of functional constipation was 18,3%. The results of bivariate analysis showed that there was no significant relationship between dietary fiber intake, fluid intake, sex, physical activity, stress level, and sleep quality with functional constipation in regular undergraduate students at FKM UI in 2023. However, this research suggests that there is a tendency for functional constipation to be more frequent in students with lower dietary fiber intake and less fluid intake. Therefore, students are encouraged to increase their consumption of dietary fiber and fluids and adopt a healthier lifestyle. "

"Skripsi ini membahas kebiasaan konsumsi serat makanan mahasiswa penghuni asrama Universitas Indonesia tahun 2011 dan hubungannya dengan karakteristik individu yang meliputi jenis kelamin, pengetahuan mengenai serat makanan, preferensi/kesukaan terhadap makanan, kebiasaan makan sayur dan buah, dan pengaruh teman sebayanya. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode penelitian deskriptif dan desain studi cross-sectional. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan kuesioner dan formulir Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ) yang dibagikan kepada 145 mahasiswa penghuni asrama Universitas Indonesia pada bulan April 2011.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada hubungan antara pengetahuan mengenai serat makanan dan preferensi/kesukaan terhadap makanan dengan kebiasaan konsumsi serat makanan pada mahasiswa penghuni asrama Universitas Indonesia. Hasil penelitian menyarankan bahwa perlu diadakannya media KIE mengenai pentingnya konsumsi serat makanan serta disediakannya makanan sumber serat yang lebih bervariasi di kantin asrama.
This thesis discusses the habits of consumption of dietary fiber in boarder student, University of Indonesia 2011 and its relationship with the individual characteristics including gender, knowledge of dietary fiber, preference for food, eating vegetables and fruit, and the influence of peers. This study is a quantitative study with descriptive research methods and cross-sectional design study. The data was collected using questionnaires and form the Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ) which was distributed to 145 student boarders, University of Indonesia in April 2011.
The results showed that there was a relationship between knowledge about dietary fiber and preference for food with the habits of consumption of dietary fiber in boarder student at the University of Indonesia?s dormitory. The results suggest that the necessary holding of CIE media about the importance of dietary fiber consumption and the availability of food sources of fiber are more varied in the dorm cafeteria.

"Minimnya konsumsi serat dapat menyebabkan terjadinya berbagai penyakit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan produk berbahan dasar buah dan kulit pisang (Musa paradisiaca) sebagai makanan alternatif sumber serat berupa donat yang dapat diterima masyarakat. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental laboratorium dengan metode rancangan acak lengkap. Panelis dalam penelitian ini adalah 50 mahasiswa FKM UI. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa donat yang paling disukai panelis adalah donat 683 dengan substitusi buah dan kulit pisang (dry basis) sebesar 5,82% buah pisang dan 18,41% kulit pisang. Berdasarkan hasil uji laboratorium, donat 683 memiliki kandungan gizi yaitu energi 338,91 kkal; air 28,23 gram; abu 0,73 gram; lemak10,95 gram; protein 4,31 gram; karbohidrat 55,78 gram; serat pangan larut 2,13 gram; dan serat pangan tak larut 9,12 gram per 100 gram donat. Penambahan buah dan kulit pisang dengan kadar serat tinggi pada donat formulasi meningkatkan jumlah energi, kadar abu, lemak, karbohidrat, dan kadar serat pangan total (serat pangan larut dan tak larut).

Deficiency of dietary fiber can cause so many diseases. The main goals from this research are to make innovative product, especially donut, that made from fruit and peel of banana (Musa paradisiaca) and also to know the acceptance for this product. This research is an experimental research that using completely randomized design method. Panelists for hedonic test in this research are 50 students from Faculty of Public Health UI. The result of this research shows that the favorite donut is donut 683 that substituted by 5,82% banana fruit and 18,41% banana peel (dry basis). Based on laboratorium analysis, the nutrient contents of donut 683 are 338,91 kcal of energy; 28,23 gram of moisturize (water); 0,73 gram of ash; 10,95 gram of fat; 4,31 gram of protein; 55,78 gram of carbohydrate; 2,13 gram of soluble dietary fiber; and 9,12 gram of insoluble dietary fiber per 100 gram of donut. Addition of fruit and peel of banana, that contain with high fiber, can increase the content of energy , ash, fat, carbohydrate, and total dietary fiber (soluble and insoluble dietary fiber)."

Suplementasi tablet tambah darah merupakan salah satu strategi utama untuk meningkatkan kesehatan ibu dan anak. Ibu hamil yang mengonsumsi tablet tambah darah ≥ 90 di tahun 2012 sebesar 32,7% dan pada tahun 2017 sebesar 43,9%. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk variasi faktor konsumsi tablet tambah darah ibu hamil ditingkat individu dan tingkat masyarakat di Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain cross sectional dengan sampel 6.675 ditahun 2012 dan 7.799 ditahun 2017 dari WUS 15-49 tahun yang hamil. Data diperoleh dari Survei Demografi Kesehatan Indonesia dan Profil Kesehatan Indonesia tahun 2012 dan 2017 dengan menggunakan analisis multilevel regresi linear. Hasil analisis multilevel menunjukkan baik ditahun 2012 maupun 2017 variasi lebih besar terjadi ditingkat individu dengan nilai interclass correlation 0,05 (2012) dan 0,04 (2017). Faktor tingkat individu ditahun 2012 usia, Jumlah antenatal care, Usia kehamilan pertama kali kunjungan antenatal care, Pendidikan, Pendidikan Suami dan Kekayaan. Sedangkan di tahun 2017 Jumlah antenatal care, usia kehamilan pertama kali antenatal care, pendidikan suami, kekayaan, internet dan dukungan keluarga. Program pelayanan antenatal care di Indonesia melibatkan anggota keluarga untuk pendamping minum tablet tambah darah pada ibu hamil.


Iron supplementation is one of the key strategies to improve maternal and child health. Pregnant women who consumed iron supplementation ≥ 90 in 2012 around to 32.7% and in 2017 around to 43.9%. This study aims to vary the factors of consumption iron supplementtaion of pregnant women at the individual level and community level in Indonesia. This study used a cross-sectional design with a sample of 6,675 in 2012 and 7,799 in 2017 from women of reproductive age 15-49 years who were pregnant. Data obtained from Indonesian Demographic health survey and Indonesian Health Profile in 2012 and 2017 using multilevel analysis.  The results of multilevel analysis showed that both in 2012 and 2017 greater variation occurred at the individual level with interclass correlation values of 0.05 (2012) and 0.04 (2017). Individual level factors in 2012 is age, number of ANCs, age of first pregnancy antenatal care visits, education, husband's Education and wealth. In 2017 is number of antenatal care, age of first pregnancy antenatal care visits, husband's education, wealth, internet and family support. The antenatal care service program in Indonesia involves family members to accompany them to take iron supplementation for pregnant women.

"Konsumsi sayur dan buah masyarakat Indonesia masih jauh dari kategori cukup. Remaja ditemukan sebagai kelompok umur dengan persentase tertingi untuk konsumsi sayur dan buah yang kurang. Konsumsi sayur dan buah yang kurang pada saat remaja akan mempengaruhi status kesehatan di masa mendatang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor dominan yang berhubungan dengan konsumsi sayur dan buah pada kelompok remaja di Jakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan disain cross sectional pada bulan April hingga Mei 2018 di SMAN 39 Jakarta. Responden terdiri dari siswa kelas X dan kelas XI. Pengambilan data menggunakan kuesioner dan FFQ dengan metode angket.
Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 68,4 responden termasuk ke dalam kategori kurang konsumsi sayur dan buah. Uji chi square yang dilakukan menghasilkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara pengaruh orangtua OR=2,436; CI=1,293-4,587 dan keterlibatan dalam berbelanja OR=2,045; CI=1,091-3,834 dengan konsumsi sayur dan buah pada responden. Analisis lebih lanjut berupa analisis multivariat dengan uji regresi logistic ganda menunjukkan hasil bahwa pengaruh orangtua menjadi faktor dominan yang berhubungan dengan konsumsi sayur dan buah pada siswa.

Consumption of vegetables and fruits of Indonesian society is still far from sufficient category. Adolescents are found as the age group with the highest percentage for less vegetable and fruit consumption. Consumption of less vegetables and fruits during adolescence will affect health status in the future. This study aims to determine the dominant factors associated with consumption of vegetables and fruits in groups of adolescents in Jakarta. This study used cross sectional design in April to May 2018 at SMAN 39 Jakarta. Respondents consisted of students of class X and class XI. Data collection using self administered questionnaire and.
The results of this study indicate that there are 68.4 of respondents included into the category of less consumption of vegetables and fruits. The chi square test performed resulted in a relationship between parental influence OR 2,436 CI 1,293 4,587 and shopping involvement OR 2,045 CI 1,091 3,834 with consumption of vegetables and fruits in the respondents. Further analysis in the form of multivariate analysis with multiple logistic regression test showed that the influence of parents became the dominant factor related to the consumption of vegetables and fruit in the students.

"Long-term health benefits can be achieved by vegetarian including a lower risk of
cardiovascular disease, some fomms of cancer, and hypertension. Some vegetarians
worry, that they're not getting enough nutrients when they are pregnant. In fact,
there is nothing to be worried about. Pregnant vegetarian could meet good
nutritional status by knowing key nutrients they should eat. Key nutrients for
vegetarian pregnancy include protein, iron, zinc, calcium, vitamin D, vitamin B12,
iodine, and omega-3 fatty acids. A vegetarian or vegan diet can meet requirements
for all of these nutrients although in some instances, fortified foods or supplements
can be especially useful in meeting recommendations. The nutrient content of
supplements targeted to pregnant vegetarians should be evaluated to make sure
nutrient needs are being met. Other important aspect concerning vegetarian diet is
gestational weight gain. Optimal birth weight and outcome are influenced by maternal
weight gain. Low gestational weight gain is associated with poor fetal growth and
risk of pretemi delivery while excessive weight gain affects infant growth, body
fatness in childhood, and the potential for postpartum weight retention and future
obesity. Vegetarian women should also be counseled to follow standard weight gain
recommendations. Ideally, weight gain recommendations should be individualized to
promote the best outcomes while reducing risk for excessive postpartum weight
retention and reducing the risk of later chronic disease for the child and adult. Some
studies (Rosso, 1985; Umniyati, 2009) stated an optimal weight gain for pregnancy
outcome is 20% of ideal matemal weight. In order to calculate a recommendation of
optimal weight gain to be achieved by pregnant mothers, pre-pregnancy weight
should be known. By understanding these aspects, optimal weight gain and
important nutrients needs, vegetarian pregnant mother can get optimal pregnancy
outcomes."

"ABSTRAK
Penelitian mengenai asupan karbohidrat dan serat pangan dengan proporsi mikrobiota usus pada anak masih belum banyak di Indonesia. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendapatkan profil jumlah asupan karbohidrat dan serat pangan pada anak serta hubungannya dengan mikrobiota usus. Mikrobiota usus yang diperiksa adalah Bifidobacterium spp dan Lactobacillus spp mewakili mikrobiota usus baik serta Eschericia dan Clostridium spp mewakili mikrobiota patogen usus.Studi potong lintang dilakukan pada 68 siswa TK usia 4-6 tahun dilakukan selama Januari-Februari 2017 di Jakarta. Data jumlah asupan energi, karbohidrat, serta serat pangan dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan food recall form selama 2x24 jam. Subjek terdiri dari 33 anak perempuan 48 dan 35 anak lelaki 52 , sebagian besar dengan gizi baik dan perawakan normal. Median asupan energi, karbohidrat, dan serat pangan berturut-turut sebanyak 1230 kalori, 158 gram dan 2,4 gram. Tidak didapatkan hubungan bermakna antara asupan karbohidrat dan serat pangan terhadap proporsi mikrobiota ususAsupan karbohidrat dan serat pangan subjek penelitian ini di bawah angka kecukupan gizi AKG yang dianjurkan untuk usia 4-6 tahun. Perbedaan kandungan prebiotik pada asupan karbohidrat maupun serat pangan subjek penelitian ini, mungkin merupakan penyebab perbedaan hasil penelitian ini dengan penelitian diluar negeri. Data yang didapat diharapkan dapat dipergunakan sebagai dasar untuk penelitian selanjutnya.

ABSTRACT
There are not many studies in Indonesia related to gut microbiota, especially in relation with carbohydrate and dietary fiber intake. The objectives of this study are to gain profiles on the amount of carbohydrate and dietary fiber intake in children, and its relations with gut microbiota. The gut microbiota being studied are Bifidobacterium spp and Lactobacillus spp, representing the good microbiota, and Eschericia and Clostridium spp as the pathogen gut microbiota.Cross sectional study was conducted on 68 kindergarten students aged 4 6 years old during the period of January ndash February 2017. The data on energy, carbohydrate and dietary fiber intakes were compiled using food recall form for 48 hours. Subjects consisted of 33 girls 48 and 35 boys 52 majority of them are well nourished and normal stature. Median of the energy, carbohydrate and fiber intake were 1,230 calories, 158 gram and 2.4 gram, consecutively. There was no significant relation between carbohydrate and dietary fiber intakes on the composition of gut microbiota.The intake of carbohydrate and dietary fiber for the subjects of this study was below the Daily Dietary Requirement for children aged 4 6 years old. The discrepancy of prebiotic amount on the carbohydrate and fiber intake might impact the results of this study compared with similar studies abroad. However, the acquired data can be used for basis of future studies in this field."
