"This book promotes dialogue and debate on the understudied and under-theorized topic of queer masculinities and education, offering scholarly contributions to critical masculinity studies, to gender and sexuality studies and to the field of education. The essays adopt a range of approaches from empirical studies to reflective theorizing, and address themselves to three separate educational realms, the K-12 level, the collegiate level, and the level in popular culture, which could be called ?cultural pedagogy?. "What is CMS for and what might its future be- both inside the domain of academia and outside it? It's a question that has beguiled and frustrated academics within and outside its community. At the hear of CMS is an enduring skepticism concerning the social and ecological sustainability of prevailing ideas and forms of management and organization. Using ideas from feminist and queer theory, authors of this volume aim to generate some thinking and possibly a nascent agenda. It focuses on the future of CMS but also intertwines it with ideas as to how scholarly communities can engage in working lives differently."

"This book reflects on 'the political' in queer theory and politics by revisiting two of its key categories: hegemony and heteronormativity. It explores the specific insights offered by these categories and the ways in which they augment the analysis of power and domination from a queer perspective, whilst also examining the possibilities for political analysis and strategy-building provided by theories of hegemony and heteronormativity. Moreover, in addressing these issues the book strives to rethink the understanding of the term "queer", so as to avoid narrowing queer politics to a critique of normative heterosexuality and the rigid gender binary. By looking at the interplay between hegemony and heteronormativity, this ground-breaking volume presents new possibilities of reconceptualizing 'the political' from a queer perspective. Investigating the effects of queer politics not only on subjectivities and intimate personal relations, but also on institutions, socio-cultural processes and global politics, this book will be of interest to those working in the fields of critical theory, gender and sexuality, queer theory, postcolonial studies, and feminist political theory."

This thesis discusses the construction of identity published by fictional slash women, using Lacan's psychoanalysis. The growth of K-Pop in Indonesia has created various new creative media which are created by fans, one of them is fiction slash. Fiction slash is an unique story which created by fans, where the two idol characters have same-sex or homosexual relationships. Even though the majority of female readers who consume slash fiction do not have everything which supports the discussion section. In Indonesia, these sorts of conversations are somewhat taboo and still have not been fully accepted by the public, even discussing them are still defined as taboo. Fiction slash text exists to fulfill the unconscious desire of their idol fans. By using Lacan's identity construction, this study attempts to examine how the identities of fans use Lacan's views, and cut fiction as a fulfillment of fans desires and fantasies about life ideal for them, and use fictional slash to help them to seek symbolic diversions which connected with them. By using the constructivist paradigm, this research qualitative study used Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) to see the construction of the slash fiction female readers identity. The tool in this research was used in-depth interviews with three informants. After collecting the data, the researchers analyzed the data using Lacan's psychoanalysis which related to identity construction. The result of this research is the identity was not only determined by something the informant is aware of, or something symbolic, but also the identity was governed by fantasy desires, as the result from the Real. The identity was based on the ideal image which is seen by someone about the outside world, and it encourages someone to continue to approach the ideal self according to her. A person's identity is basically never intact, and the construction process is a conscious process. Although, the symbolic still provides the identity and meaning for informants about which is positive or good, and in accordance with the values that have been believed so far, also which identity is negative, or not in accordance with the values tt are believed.

Regions in general choose to only support universality in human rights. However, ASEAN supports universality through various international instruments. At the same time, the region also supports particularity through its AHRD by considering both regional and national particularities. This research aims to see how the contestation between both principles explain this case. In doing so, this research uses qualitative and interpretative approaces to achieve deep and thorough explanations. It also uses the logics of Queer Theory in realising such goal. When AHRD is analysed using that logic, it is found, that the document offers answers to ASEAN’s social reality.

""Sex work is a subject of significant contestation across academic disciplines, as well as within legal, medical, moral, feminist, political and socio-cultural discourses. A large body of research exists, but much of this focuses on the sale of sex by women to men and ignores other performances, practices, meanings and embodiments in the contemporary sex industry. A queer agenda is important in order to challenge hetero-centric gender norms and to develop new insights into how gender, sex, power, crime, work, migration, space/place, health and intimacy are understood in the context of commercial sexual encounters. Queer Sex Work explores what it might mean to 'be', 'do' and 'think' queer(ly) in the study and practice of commercial sex. It brings together a multiplicity of empirical case studies - including erotic dance venues, online sex working, pornography, grey sexual economies, and BSDM - and offers a variety of perspectives from academic scholars, policy practitioners, activists and sex workers themselves. In so doing, the book advances a queer politics of sex work that aims to disrupt heteronormative logics whilst also making space for different voices in academic and political debates about commercial sex. This unique and multidisciplinary volume will be indispensable for scholars and students of the global sex trade and of gender, sexuality, feminism and queer theory more broadly, as well as policymakers, activists and practitioners interested in the politics and practice of sex work in local, national and international contexts""

"The term "Inclusive communities" has increasingly featured in recent years, at policy, practice and theoretical levels, drawing from different disciplinary standpoints. Much of this has been spurred by efforts at understanding the exclusions confronted by certain populations, to develop the notion of and mechanisms by which communities can include those who are marginalised and/or oppressed, and in some contexts to 'bring back' community as something real or imagined. In spite of this, this deceptive term remains shrouded in epistemological darkness, conveniently endorsed but often little theorised and less understood."

"This book presents some of the most trenchant critical analyses of the widespread claims for the recent emergence of a knowledge economy and the attendant need for greater lifelong learning. The book contains two sections. First, general critiques of the limits of current notions of a knowledge economy and required adult learning, in terms of historical comparisons, socio-political construction and current empirical evidence. Secondly, specific challenges to presumed relations between work requirements and learning through case studies in diverse current workplaces that document richer learning processes than knowledge economy advocates intimate.

This article highlights the significance of queer and trans representation in television. The LGBTQIA+ community continues to be discriminated against today, and Generation Z is more exposed to media than
ever (Francis, 2022). However, transgender storylines have become more prevalent in today’s media landscape, raising fundamental considerations concerning the forms of trans representation available to audiences (Berberick, 2018). Using Stuart Hall’s (1997) representation theory to analyse HBO’s hit TV series, “Euphoria”, which includes a good representation of a trans-femme character (Vice, 2019), this article observes the impacts of such representation in mainstream media on its audiences. This article argues that queer representation in the media directly affects queer people in real life.
