"Masyarakat urban dalam melakukan segala aktivitasnya tanpa sadar dipengaruhi oleh adanya berbagai konstruksi sosial yang dibentuk untuk menggambarkan kehidupan mereka yang “ideal”. Akibatnya, pikiran mereka selalu bercabang, khawatir dan cemas apabila mereka tidak dapat memenuhi kehidupan dengan standar “ideal” yang telah dikonstruksikan tersebut. Menjadi anggota Muay Thai kemudian merupakan salah satu cara untuk dapat memenuhi kebutuhan mereka akan kehidupan yang “ideal” tersebut sebab motivasi awal mereka mengikuti kegiatan adalah untuk mendapatkan bentuk tubuh yang indah, ingin mengikuti tren, ingin terlihat keren, atau pun ingin menunjukan nilai prestise (gengsi) dari mengikuti kegiatan ini. Muay Thai sendiri sebagai seni bela diri merupakan kegiatan yang kental dipengaruhi oleh nilai-nilai yang terkandung dalam ajaran Buddhisme. Mindfulness (berpikir dengan sadar secara penuh) merupakan sebuah wacana yang berakar dari ajaran Buddhisme yang kemudian ditanamkan kepada para anggota Muay Thai tersebut. Dengan menjadi anggota Muay Thai, mereka dilatih untuk menjalankan segala aktivitas dengan pikiran yang penuh kesadaran, tidak melayang ke masa lalu maupun masa depan, melupakan segala hal yang memberikan distraksi atau gangguan dalam pikiran mereka. Masyarakat yang menjadi anggota Muay Thai pun kemudian mendapatkan efek ketenangan setelah dapat menerapkan kemampuan mindfulness dalam kehidupannya sehari-hari dan tidak lagi merasakan tekanan akibat berbagai konstruksi sosial mengenai kehidupan “ideal”. Hal ini menyebabkan Muay Thai dapat dikatakan sebagai kegiatan yang dapat memberikan efek healing bagi para pelakunya, terlepas dari apa pun kepercayaan yang diyakininya. Untuk mendapatkan dan mendalami informasi, dalam penelitian ini saya menggunakan teknik observasi partisipatori dan wawancara mendalam untuk mendapatkan data. Saya kemudian ikut bergabung menjadi anggota Muay Thai dalam waktu enam bulan untuk keperluan data tersebut.

People in urban society such as Jakarta are affected by social constructions toward which the image of their "ideal life” is directed. As a result, they tend to be consumed with the thinking of the past or the future, worrieness and feeling of anxiety, when they could not meet that standard of “ideal life”. "How many citizens take part in moral and political decisions concerning the results obtained by the contemporary life sciences? Should they blindly follow skilled demagogues or false and deceptive leaders? Should they adhere to the voice of the majority, or should they take a different decisional path? Deliberative democracy answers these questions, but what is deliberative democracy? Can we really deliberate if we are completely ignorant of the relevant issue? What about ethical or political expertise, is it strictly necessary? "Antiretroviral (ARV) terbukti efektif untuk menurunkan angka kematian akibat HIV-AIDS. Namun demikian efektifitas ARV sangat dipengaruhi oleh kepatuhan Orang dengan HIV-AIDS (ODHA) dalam mengkonsumsi ARV. Salah satu faktor yang memengaruhi kepatuhan ODHA terhadap pengobatan ARV adalah intimasi pasangan sebagai bentuk dukungan psikososial bagi ODHA yang terbangun dari aspek emosional, sosial dan seksual. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi hubungan antara intimasi pasangan dengan kepatuhan pengobatan ARV. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain analitik observasional dengan pendekatan cross sectional pada 115 responden ODHA dewasa yang mendapat pengobatan ARV, sampel diperoleh dengan teknik consecutive sampling. Hasil analisis uji Chi Square menunjukan adanya hubungan yang bermakna antara intimasi pasangan dengan kepatuhan pengobatan ARV (p value = 0,000; 95% CI). ODHA yang memiliki tingkat intimasi tinggi, memiliki tingkat kepatuhan yang tinggi pula. Dari hasil penelitian ini perawat dan konselor dapat melibatkan pasangan ODHA dalam memotivasi, mengawasi dan mengingatkan ODHA untuk patuh terhadap pengobatan ARV.

Antiretroviral therapy has been proven effectively in reducing mortality caused by HIV-AIDS. However, the effectiveness of antiretroviral therapy is affected by adherence. The factor that influences Antiretroviral adherence is spousal intimacy as a psychosocial support that built on emotional, social and sexual aspects. The research aimed to identify the relationship between spousal intimacy with Antiretroviral adhenrence. This research used a cross sectional design with a consecutive sampling method involving 115 adult People Living With HIV-AIDS (PLWHA) who received Antiretroviral as respondents.

The results of the research was analyzed by Chi Square test and showed a significant relationship between spousal intimacy with Antiretroviral adherence (p value = 0,000; 95% CI). PLWHA who have a high level of intimacy also have a high level of Antiretroviral adherence. This research is beneficial for the health provider in supporting the improvement of ART adherence by involving PLWHA partners in care, support and treatment programs."
