"Dalam hidup, setiap orang memiliki identitas. Untuk mencapai identitas tertentu, seseorang harus melalui beberapa tahapan pembentukan identitas. Sepanjang hidup seseorang, baik orang tersebut sadar atau tidak, proses pembentukan identitas terus berlangsung. Mulai saat orang tersebut lahir, ia sebenarnya telah memperoleh identitas tertentu. Seiring dengan perkembangan, banyak faktor yang mengubah identitasnya. Proses yang rumit ini terus-menerus berlangsung seiring dengan bertambahnya usia. Makalah ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi pembentukan identitas pemeran utama perempuan dalam film The Help. Menggunakan teori perkembangan identitas Erikson, makalah ini menyimpulkan bahwa identitas pemeran utama perempuan mendapatkan pengaruh dari pengalamannya pada masa remaja. Masa remaja menjadi tahap yang paling penting yang membentuk identitasnya. Hasil ini dapat diketahui melalui perlakuannya terhadap orang kulit hitam dan putih dan hubungannya dengan keluarga, teman-teman dan kekasihnya.

In life, every person has an identity. To reach certain identities, a person needs to undergo several stages of identity construction. Throughout one's life, whether or not the person realizes, the processes still keep on going. Starting from the moment a person is born, the person actually has already acquired certain identities. As the person grows up, many factors create several changes on his or her identity. This complex process keeps going simultaneously as the person gets older. This paper attempts to identify the identity construction of the main female character in the movie The Help.Using Erikson’s theory of identity development, this paper concludes that the main female character’s present identity is affected by her adolescent experiences. Adolescence appears to be the most significant stage that constructs her identity. This result is seen through her treatments toward black and white people and her relationships with her family, friends, and boyfriend."

"Revolusi Tunisia tahun 2011 tidak hanya berpengaruh pada perubahan sistem politik domestik maupun internasional. Tetapi juga telah mendorong munculnya identitas dalam wacana politik Tunisia yang menguat setelah terbentuknya pemerintahan demokratis. Tentu ini akan berdampak pada kebijakan luar negeri Tunisia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan konstruksi identitas dalam kebijakan luar negeri Tunisia pasca revolusi, dengan menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif melalui studi pustaka. Sedangkan dalam analisis, menggunakan konsep identitas dalam teori konstruktivis dan kepentingan nasional. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan, di bawah pemerintahan Moncef Marzouki dan Caid Beji Essebsi, identitas berpengaruh penting dalam kebijakan luar negeri Tunisia. Hubungan Tunisia dengan Qatar dan Turki sangat dekat karena memiliki kesamaan identitas dan kepentingan nasional. Sebaliknya, hubungan Tunisia dengan Uni Emirat Arab bersifat konfliktual karena memiliki perbedaan identitas. Sementara hubungan Tunisia dengan Arab Saudi, meskipun awalnya konfliktual, tetapi setelah perubahan struktur domestik di Arab Saudi, hubungan kedua negara menjadi kooperatif (kerjasama).

The Tunisian revolution in 2011 did not only effect changes in the domestic and international political system. But it has also encouraged the emergence of identity in Tunisian political discourse which strengthened after the formation of a democratic government. Of course, this will have an impact on Tunisian foreign policy. This study aims to explain the construction of identity in post-revolutionary Tunisian foreign policy, using qualitative research methods through literature study. While in the analysis, using the concept of identity in constructivist theory and national interests. The results of this study indicate, under the government of Moncef Marzouki and Caid Beji Essebsi, identity has an important influence on Tunisian foreign policy. Tunisia's relations with Qatar and Turkey are very close because they share a common identity and national interest. On the other hand, Tunisia's relationship with the United Arab Emirates is conflictual because it has different identities. While Tunisia's relations with Saudi Arabia, although initially conflicting, after changes in the domestic structure in Saudi Arabia, the relations between the two countries became cooperative (cooperation)."

"Hubungan antara perempuan dan konstruksi gender telah banyak diteliti sampai saat ini. Beberapa penelitian mengenai kasus ini banyak berfokus pada dampak negatif dari konstruksi gender yang dialami perempuan. Seringkali perempuan menjadi korban dari fenomena konstruksi gender dalam masyarakat sebagaimana perempuan dituntut sesuai dengan harapan masyarakat pada umumnya. Adanya persepsi ini, memunculkan pertanyaan, seperti: apakah perempuan selalu seperti itu? Apakah perempuan harus selalu mengikuti konstruksi gender dalam masyarakat? Konstruksi gender juga berdampak pada peranan manusia dalam masyarakat, dan kemudian menciptakan suatu identitas. Tulisan ini membahas tentang gambaran seorang perempuan (khususnya perempuan yang belum menikah) melalui sebuah film berjudul Confession of a Shopaholic, yang dipengaruhi oleh konstruksi gender dalam masyarakat. Hal ini juga membahas bagaimana respon tokoh perempuan terhadap konstruksi gender yang pada akhirnya berpengaruh dalam pembentukan identitas tokoh perempuan tersebut.

The relation between women and gender construction has been discussed many times. Most discussions of the issue focus on the negative impacts of gender construction for women. Women become the victim of the phenomenon of gender construction in society that they have to be what the society expects them to be. This perception then leads to questions: are women always like that? Do women always have to follow gender construction in society? Gender also constructs human's roles in a society, and those roles then create an identity. This paper talks about a woman?s image (especially a single woman) through a movie Confession of a Shopaholic, which is influenced by gender construction in society. It also extends the woman?s response towards gender construction of the society around her as it later creates her identity."

"Krisis Suriah tidak hanya melahirkan perpecahan secara domestik, tapi juga di tataran komunitas internasional. Ketika Amerika Serikat bersama dengan aliansinya menjadi pendukung utama pergerakan oposisi dalam menurunkan rezim Bashar al-Assad, Rusia justru berada di posisi yang berlawanan dengan mayoritas negara-negara di dunia. Tujuan utama dari skripsi ini adalah memaparkan proses konstruksi dalam pembentukan kebijakan luar negeri Rusia di Suriah. Dengan meneliti proses konstruksi tersebut, skripsi ini mencoba untuk menemukan hubungan yang sebelumnya tidak terlihat antara norma dan identitas yang dipegang Rusia dengan kebijakan di dalam kasus Suriah. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keputusan Rusia untuk melindungi rezim al-Assad dikonstruksi oleh (1) struktur lingkungan dan aktor yang berada disekitar; (2) persepsi diri sebagai global power dan adanya keinginan untuk mendapat pengakuan dari pihak lain; dan (3) adanya kepentingan untuk melindungi negara eks-Soviet dengan mayoritas Muslim dari risiko kemunculan Islamic renaissance.

The Syrian crisis has not only torn the domestic society into pieces, but also the international community. United States and its allies are the main supporters of opposition movement in toppling Bashar al-Assad regime, while Russia stands on the opposite of the majority. The primary aim of the thesis is to provide the constructive process within the formation of Russian foreign policy in Syria. By exploring the constructive process, the thesis seeks to uncover the unseen relations between Russia‟s norms and identity with its policy in Syria. The results show that Russia‟s decision to defend al-Assad regime is constructed by (1) the structure of environment and actors surround the conflict; (2) self-perception as global power and how to get the recognition from others; and (3) an interest to protect the Muslim-majority ex-Soviet countries from the risk of Islamic renaissance."

"Skripsi ini membahas ambiguitas identitas dua Korea berkaitan dengan tema dalam film Euihyeongje. Narasi film dianalisis dengan metode penelitian close reading. Pendekatan dalam penelitian ini adalah New Historicism yang menekankan keterkaitan teks sastra dengan kekuatan sosial, ekonomi, dan politik yang melingkupinya serta latar belakang sejarah yang ada. Hasil pembahasan membuktikan bahwa tema utama dalam film Euihyeongje adalah ambiguitas identitas diri yang terlihat pada tokoh, penokohan, dan alur yang mengacu pada tema utama. Rasa permusuhan dan perbedaan nasionalisme menjadi pemicu konflik dan sikap ambigu kedua tokoh utama. Secara keseluruhan, film ini mendukung ambiguitas identitas tokoh dan mengukuhkan pembentukan identitas baru yang dipandang sebagai hal positif.

This thesis explains the ambiguity two Korean identity which related to the theme of the movie Euihyeongje. Narrative in films were analyzed by the method of close reading research. The approach in this research is New Historicism that emphasize relation of literary texts with social, economic, political power, and also historical background as well.

The research results proved that main theme in the Euihyeongje movie is the ambiguity of self identity. It could be seen in the character, characterization, and plot which refer to the main theme. The hostility and nationalism disparity that instigated conflict and ambiguous attitudes both of the main characters. Overall, this film supports ambiguity of identity and confirms the formation of a new identity that viewed as positive matter."

"Tulisan ini membahas mengenai representasi identitas gay dalam film berjudul yaganbihaeng. Film yaganbihaeng berhasil menampilkan dinamika kehidupan seorang remaja gay di tengah lingkungan sekolah. Berbeda dari film remaja lainnya yang biasanya membahas sisi percintaan atau pendidikan, film ini membahas isu identitas seksual yang masih sangat minim keberadaanya. Hal ini lah yang menjadikan film ini objek dari penelitian ini. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memaparkan representasi identitas gay dan representasi gay di lingkungan remaja dan sekolah dalam film yaganbihaeng. Metode yang digunakan dalam tulisan ini adalah metode analisis deskriptif dan teori representasi Stuart Hall. Representasi yang digambarkan oleh film ini kebanyakan berupa sebuah kritik sosial terhadap masyarakat. Kritik mengenai pandangan dan perilaku masyarakat luas terhadap seorang homoseksual di dunia nyata yang cenderung buruk dan diskriminatif.This paper discusses the representation of gay identity in the movie titled yaganbihaeng. Yaganbihaeng film managed to show the dynamics of the life of a gay teenager in the middle of a school environment. This is what makes this film the object of this research. Different from other teen films which usually discuss the side of love or education, this film discusses the issue of sexual identity which is currently a rare issue to be discussed. The purpose of this study was to find how the representation of homosexual identity and homosexual representation in the teens and schools in the film yaganbihaeng represented. The method used in this study is descriptive analysis method and representation theory of Stuart Hall. The representation described by this film is mostly in the form of a social criticism of society. Criticism of the views and behavior of the wider community which tends to be bad and discriminatory against a homosexual in the real world."

ABSTRACTThis thesis discusses about hegemony of Russian slang in the movie Бабло/Bablo/ 'Money' (2011). Hegemony analyzed using Antonio Gramsci’s theory ofhegemony which saw language has the power to control the speakers. Analysisassisted with the theory of parole by Ferdinand de Saussure and the theory offunctional sentence perspective (FSP) by Vilém Mathesius. The results shows thatthe use of Russian slang in the movie Бабло /Bablo/ 'Money' (2011) is ahegemony by placing slang as rheme in speech conversation."

"ABSTRAKPermasalahan segregasi rasial yang memisahkan orang kulit putih dan kulit hitam yang mengemuka di Amerika pada tahun 1960-an masih saja didiskusikan hingga saat ini dalam berbagai sektor kehidupan termasuk dalam karya sastra. The Help 2009 memperlihatkan hubungan perempuan beda ras yang harmonis di Amerika berlatar periode tersebut. Perbedaan gambaran ini menarik untuk diteliti lebih lanjut. Tesis ini mencermati konstruksi sisterhood antar ras dengan mencermati struktur narasi, khususnya fokalisasi yang digagas oleh Mieke Bal 1999 . Selain itu, pemahaman konsep sisterhood oleh bell hooks juga digunakan dalam tesis ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa teks menawarkan bentuk sisterhood baru yang mewadahi semua perempuan sebagai alternatif dari bentuk sisterhood sesama ras. Meskipun teks mengusung nilai kesetaraan, masih terlihat keberpihakan teks terhadap kulit putih yang menunjukkan bahwa teks tidak terlepas dari zamannya. Teks membawa ide kontemporer pada konteks 1960-an sehingga pada akhirnya terlihat bahwa perbedaan warna kulit memang tidak dapat diterima baik pada komunitas kulit putih maupun kulit hitam.Kata Kunci : Fokalisasi, Hubungan Perempuan, Segregasi Rasial, Sisterhood.

ABSTRACT The issue of racial segregation that separated black and white people, which highlighted the life in America during 1960s, is still being discussed on various sectors of life including in literary works. The Help 2009 shows the harmonic relationship between women with different races in America on that period of time. This perspective is interesting to be analyzed. This thesis analyzes the construction of sisterhood between races using narrative structure, especially focalization initiated by Mieke Bal 1999 . In addition, an understanding of sisterhood concept by bell hooks is also used in this thesis. The results show that the text offers a new form of sisterhood that accommodates all women as an alternative from the form of the previous existing sisterhood. Although the text carries the value of equality, the text tends to take side to the white people which shows that the text is inseparable from its period. The text carries contemporary ideas in the 1960s context so it is certain that skin color differences are unacceptable to both white and black communities. "Pada tahun 2015, isu mengenai pengungsi kembali menjadi perbincangan hangat di Jerman. Peningkatan jumlah pengungsi yang masuk ke Jerman dalam beberapa tahun terakhir membuat topik ini diangkat ke dalam beberapa film, contohnya film Hotel California. Film ini merupakan sebuah film pendek yang diproduksi oleh ABC Bildungs- und Tagungszentrum e.V., yang menceritakan tentang kehidupan pengungsi di Jerman. Melalui film ini, penulis menganalisis identitas pengungsi yang terbentuk serta ideologi apa yang terdapat dalam film. Film dianalisis sebagai sebuah teks. Adegan yang dianggap penting akan dipilah dan dianalisis dengan menggunakan teori representasi dan identitas kultural Stuart Hall.

In 2015, the issue of refugees become a hot topic in Germany. The increasing number of refugees who have entered Germany in recent years has made this topic raised in several films, for example Hotel California. Hotel California is a short film produced by ABC Bildungs und Tagungszentrum e.V., which tells of the life of refugees in Germany. Through this film, the author analyzes the identity construction of refugee and reveal what ideology contained in the film. The film will be analyzed as a text. The important scenes will be sorted and analyzed using the theory of representation and cultural identity of Stuart Hall."
