"Association East Asian Nations (ASEAN) merupakan organisasi di wilayah Asia Tenggara, yang salah satu tujuan ASEAN, yang juga diperkuat di dalam ASEAN Charter adalah ?to promote regional peace and stability through abiding respect for justice and the rule of law in the relationship among countries of the region and adherence to the principles of the United Nations Charter.
Tesis ini telah berhasil menggambarkan tentang bagaimana ASEAN mencoba untuk mengatur tentang mekanisme penyelesaian sengketanya, terutama sebagaimana yang diatur di dalam Pasal 24 ASEAN Charter. Dimulai dengan pemaparan di dalam Bab II, yang menggambarkan tentang bagaimana mekanisme penyelesaian sengketa dari waktu ke waktu. Bukan hanya itu saja, akan tetapi di dalam Bab II ini juga digambarkan tentang bagaimana penyelesaian sengketa diselesaikan, berdasarkan instrumen-instrumennya.
Pada bab III, secara lebih khusus tesis ini menggambarkan tentang bagaimana penyelesaian sengketa yang dilakukan melalui Treaty on Amity and Corporation in Southeast Asia. Penjabaran tentang penyelesaian sengketa ini dilakukan atas TAC, hingga Rules of Procedure of the High Council of the Treaty of and Cooperation in Southeast Asia.
Pembahasan tentang mekanisme penyelesaian sengeketa yang dilakukan melalui TAC ini kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan konsep Legalisasi. Hal ini digunakan untuk melihat sampai sejauh mana ASEAN memberikan kekuatan terhadap mekanisme penyelesaian sengketa yang dibuatnya, terutama dari sisi aturan dan prosedurnya. Hal ini kemudian ditutup dengan kesimpulan dan saran, untuk memperkuat posisi ASEAN, di dalam menyelesaikan sengketa di wilayahnya.

A discussion of the resolution mechanism is done through the TAC sengeketa is then analyzed using the concept of legalization.
