This research analyze love, hatred, and heartbreak from the perspective of Slavoj Žižek's psychoanalytic philosophy. Especially related to Žižek's criticism of universal love towards neighbor, which paradoxically avoids encounters with others. The call for universal love is considered to deny the aspects within humans that are unlovable, and even hated. Therefore, this research examines, first, the issue of what is “lack” and how does “lack" in universal love fail to overcome hatred? Second, what and how is “lack” in Žižek's criticism of universal love itself? Conceptual and structural analysis methods are applied in connection with Žižek's reference to the three Lacanian psychic realms that shape reality and identity: The Imaginary, The Symbolic, and The Real. The “lack” refers to the Lacanian concept as a basic or ontological condition of human existence. Through a dialectical thinking approach and critical interpretation within the framework of psychoanalysis, it is found that the “lack” in the universal love is the willingness to fall, engage, and encounter others—with the possibility of sacrificing everything, even nurturing hatred. Then, the “lack” in love that falls and engages is heartbreak, the willingness to face the pain of a torn heart."

This thesis attempted to discuss the use of alter accounts on Twitter as a medium for content sharing by young adults. There were two focuses of this research, namely the individual’s motives for using alter accounts and for sharing sexual content as well as the relationship between interaction and communication with the decision to share. This research was qualitative research with constructivism paradigm and phenomenological approach whose results would be presented descriptively. The theory that was used in this research is psychoanalytic theory. The data was collected by interviews and observations, while the research subjects consisted of four females alter account users. The results showed that the decision for using alter accounts and sharing sexual content were influenced by the structure of the human personality which consists of the id, ego, and superego. The id factors that drive these decisions were the desire for aggressiveness, wanting to get attention, sexual desire (libido), and money, which can arise not only from individual’s natural urge but also because of interactions with others. While the individual’s superego came from the values and norms of society, religious rules, and habits that have been adhered to since childhood. The dynamics of the id and superego showed that there are two typologies of media users in the context of content sharing, namely inhibition that could be seen on the introverted person and compulsion on the extroverted ones."

"Charting over 45 years of feminist debate on the significance of gender in the making and understanding of art, this archival anthologyh gathers together 88 indicative texts from North America, Edurope and Australasia, and elsewhere. -- The volume embraces a broad range of threads and perspectives, from diverse national and global approaches, lesbian and queer theory, and postmodernism to education and aesthetics. The writings of artists and activists are juxtaposed with those of academics, creating an entertaining and provacative web of ideas. Some of the texts are now regarded as classic, but the anthology is particulary notable for its inclusion of rare and significant material not reprinted elsewhere. -- The scale and structure of the volume make it a uniqauely flexible resource for study and research. Each of the seven sections focuses on a specific area of debate and is introduced by a descriptive summary. The texts within each chapter are then presented in chronological order, indexing differing positions as they developed over time. -- Hilary Robinson is Dean of the School of Art and Design and Professor of Visual Culture at Middlesex University London, having previously held positions at Carnegie Mellon University, USA, and the University of Ulster, Norhern Ireleand"

This research aims to examine the influence of the display of feminist ideology and purity in female K-Pop idols on the fanship intentions of male fans. The participants in this study were 93 male individuals who identified themselves as K-Pop fans, ranging in age from 15 to 35 years (M = 20.88, SD = 4.02). Participants were presented with stimuli in the form of fictional vignettes containing ‘idol’ photos, fictional biodata, and personality descriptions of a model with variations in the display of feminist ideology and purity violation. The results of the Repeated Measures ANOVA analysis show that there is a significant influence between the display of Feminism (F(2,184) = 7.74, p = 0.001, ηp2 = 0.08) and Purity (F(2,184) = 14.26, p < 0.001, ηp2 = 0.13) on female K-Pop idols towards fanship intention, and there is no significant interaction between feminism and purity in influencing fanship intentions for male fans (F(2,184) = 1.62 , p > 0.05, ηp2 = 0.02). Post-hoc paired samples t-test was carried out and it was found that the difference in fanship intention levels was significantly higher in the feminism treatment compared to non-feminism and in the display of purity treatment compared to the purity violation treatment. This findings indicate that men do not intend to be fans of female K-Pop idols who display purity violations and feminist labels, instead males prefer idols who display feminist ideology without labels."
